The purpose of our research is to study how guidance counseling initiated by the students themselves differs between girls and boys in high school. We want to study if there are any differences between girls and boys regarding guidance initiated by the students themselves. We conducted a quantitative survey consisting of a questionnaire survey with 125 respondents. The respondents are second year students at the Science program. The result of the survey shows that there are hardly any differences between girls and boys regarding guidance initiated by the students themselves.

Bakgrund: Schizofreni finns hos 24 miljoner människor i världen. Travelbee (1972) menar att enda sättet att uppnå omvårdnadens mål är att skapa en genuin mellanmänsklig relation. För ett gott bemötande behöver vårdpersonalen veta hur patienten upplever mötet. Det bör vara mottagarens behov som styr. Syftet: Syftet var att belysa hur personer med schizofreni upplever mötet med vårdpersonalen.

The purpose with this project was to invent a product that secures buildings sewersystems against rats. The problem was presented to us by a local building maintainer inHalmstad, who had experienced big problems with rats in his real estate. The project hasbeen carried out by Per Johansson, Robert Lidén and Niclas Nilsson under our ownauspices. We are primarily sponsored by AMLI Business Partner but also byInnvationsgruppen, Halmstad Fastighets AB and Anticimex.To be able to secure a whole building with only one product we came to the conclusionthat the product must be placed in the horizontal sewer pipe that connects with themunicipal sewer system. Our goal was to invent a product that prevent rats from passingand at the same time not affect the water flow.

Background: The increasing globalization of business and research has led to an increased demand for international meetings. This is a market that a number of countries wish to access and the competition is fierce to get the chance to host major conferences. Stockholm has a pronounced good position in the international meeting market and this essay will examine what it takes to be a successful meeting destination for international congresses.Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to examine the fundamental factors that must be met for a meeting destination to be successful in the international market for conventions.Question at issue: How can a city develop into a more attractive meeting destination for international congresses?Method: Persons with key positions in the Stockholm meeting industry have been approached by qualitative interviews by the authors.Theory: As a theoretical framework the authors used the value of the physical meeting, generally on the congresses, the planning process for site selection for the meeting, the meeting platform and image.Conclusion: The authors' findings are based on the empirical material gathered during the study interviews. The aim of this study was to reach a deeper understanding of the process that occurs within the social services after receiving a notification according to Chapter 14, section 1, The Social Services Act. More specifically the focus of this study was to illustrate how social secretaries reason about children?s participation in the process, as well as to examine whether the legislative change, Chapter 11, section 1 a, The Social Services Act, has affected the process in any way. The study?s results reflect interviews with five social secretaries who are active in four different municipalities in southern Sweden.

The means to political participation at the local level in Sweden are changing and this change is analyzed through a case study. The first aim is to explore the forms of public political participation in Swedish municipal Älvkarleby, namely public question time in local government, citizen motions and open meetings. A part of this is also to analyze he every day contact between citizens and representatives. The second aim concerns the reasons why politicians decide to support these means to participationThe empirical material consists mainly of semi structured interviews with local politicians, civil servants, participating citizens and local press. Official documents such as public minutes are also used in the process of creating an image of local participation.Local political participation is found to be limited but yet having the potential to strengthen democracy, provided that public decision-makers are open to a dialogue with the participants.Using Kjell Arne Røvik's theories of organisational change, the changes in local democracy can be explained as being partly rational, partly symbolic and partly identity shaping political decisions..

The hotel industry in Stockholm is characterized by intense competition, and within the next couple of years the construction of a number new hotels is planed. As the number of hotels in Stockholm increase, the competition will increase and the importance of having well functioning strategies will become vital. The purpose of this essay is to examine how two hotels within the hotel industry in Stockholm experience and handle the competition. The two hotels that are included in the study are Clarion Hotel Stockholm and Scandic Continental. The essay derives from models and theories that are related to marketing and competition.

With this research we aimed to seek how youth workers express their experience of counselling on the internet compared to traditional counselling face to face with a theoretical ground in semiotics and symbolic interactionism. Our questions were 1) How do youth workers describe their experiences from anonymous, faceless online counselling? 2) How do youth workers experience the differences between online counselling and the traditional face-to-face counselling? 3) Which possibilities and difficulties do they see in online communication with adolescents? We used semi-structed interviews with seven youth workers. Six of those are active in non-profit organisations, and one in social services. The results from our interviews showed that the interviewees saw that misunderstandings were more frequent on the internet, but that online counselling with adolescents still was easier than in the face-to-face meetings.

I Lpo 94 framgår skolans ansvar att motverka främlingsfientlighet och intolerans genom kunskap, öppen kommunikation och aktiva insatser. Detta arbete beskriver ett projekt, där elever från två olika kulturella skolmiljöer möts och har gemensamma lektioner. Syftet med detta arbete, är att undersöka hur 14-åriga elever från två olika kulturella skolmiljöer, upplever att möta varandra. Uppsatsen behandlar vad som händer i denna process och beskriver vilka reflektioner som väcks hos elever och pedagoger. Metoden har varit att observera eleverna vid våra gemensamma lektioner, och att dokumentera, elevernas skriftliga och muntliga reflektioner. Även lärarnas reflektioner har dokumenterats. Eleverna har också intervjuats. Projektet har visat att det är möjligt och önskvärt, att samarbeta mellan skolor, men att det kräver resurser och att pedagogerna måste ha tillräckligt med tid, för planering och utvärdering.

AbstractBackgroundWorking in primary care with chronic leg ulcers is both time-consuming and difficult. There is a large category of patients with leg ulcers, that is expected to increase in a number of years, and many of them will probably come to a district nurse for help.AimThe aim of this study was to describe the district nurses' experiences of caring for patients with chronic leg ulcers in primary care.MethodThe approach was qualitative. The study was done with a phenomenological life-world approach. Seven district nurses working in primary care were interviewed. The phenomenological perspective focuses on the respondents? own life-world and has openness to the interviewee's own experiences.

Purpose: The purpose of this qualitative study was to illustrate and analyze the approach and parental involvement of a group of mothers in their children's schooling. Also their reflections on parental involvement will be highlighted and what the parents experience as obstacles in their involvement.Method: I conducted six semi structured interviews for my research. I chose to interview six mothers who have a child in the sixth grade. I chose specifically the sixth grade because the mothers will have had quite a few contacts with the school at this point. I also chose not to reveal their ethnicity because they cannot represent a whole ethnic group anyway.Result: The result of my interviews show that the parents have different approaches when it comes to parental involvement.

När vi skriver detta examensarbete, år 2008, är debatten om miljön stor om hur konsumenten,företagen, staten etc. kan minska sin miljöpåverkan genom att jobba smartare. Inomföretagen bedrivs som bekant ett ständigt arbete med hur man kan reducera sina kostnader.Vi har valt att skriva om de möten i arbetslivet som kan hållas på distans, ett område somgår båda debatterna till mötes.Eftersom många mötesdeltagare (deltagare) idag flyger eller åker bil för att komma till ochfrån möten så genererar distansmöten fördelar som att det reducerar företagens kostnadersamtidigt som det ger en minskad miljöpåverkan. Vi har i vår studie närmare undersökt hurdistansmöten bedrivs idag inom de två företag som vi är verksamma inom, vilka policysoch verktyg som finns för att främja dessa och hur deltagarna själva ser på saken. Detta föratt få svar på de forskningsfrågor som vi gemensamt arbetat fram i samråd med vår handledare.Forskningsfrågorna är följande, Vilka skäl finns det till att hantera möten på distansjämfört med traditionella fysiska möten? Vilka typer av möten kan hanteras på distans? Hurkan effektiva och kvalitativa möten hållas på distans? Hur kan en organisation främja distansmöten?Vårt syfte är att undersöka om det finns några tydliga mönster angående vilka möten en organisationhanterar på distans och i så fall skapa en djupare förståelse för dessa och de riktlinjersom idag finns för distansmöten.

This essay is about security and safety in the city. More precisely it is concerned about the role of the institutions that aims to raise the perceived security and safety and their understanding of these concepts. I study two of the municipality's project in this field in the city of Malmö. Documents concerning these projects are analysed with a discourse analysis inspired by Chantal Mouffe and Ernesto Laclau as well as Michel Foucault. The two projects consist of one discourse each; the surveillance discourse and the discourse about meetings.

This case study has been conducted within the Swedish fitness chain World Class to explore the opportunities for knowledge development and transfers within franchise networks. We have interviewed the product manager at the World Class headquarter, the owner of a franchise club and a local product manager from the same facility. Our finding indicates that various forms of knowledge transfer occur within the World Class network, particularly in product development and sales. The transfer occurs within the framework set by World Class with regularly scheduled meetings. In addition informal networks provide other means of knowledge exchange between some units.
