The purpose of this thesis is to examine how two separate museums have realised the task of digitizing their collections, as well as to learn what options, possibilities and resources have been available to them during this process. Additionally, the aim here is to find how the two museums have dealt with problems in connection to the digitization projects, since there are as-of-yet no established regulations or standards to guide them in their digitization efforts. However, national and international working groups seeking to establish better collaboration between archives, libraries and museums ALM institutions have recently begun to formulate recommendations and suggested standards. Some of these recommendations have been used here as a theoretical framework in the examination of the two museums. The research questions posed are: What options, possibilities and resources have been available to the museums in their digitization projects, in terms of economy, staff, technical equipment and time?; For what purpose are the museums digitizing their collections?; and How does their purpose influence the process and chosen procedures? Also discussed here is how the museums relate to some of the existing recommendations.

The aim of this thesis is to examine the possibilities and challenges facing an archive, Svenskt barnbildarkiv (SBBA), if to publish its material online. Our context for this study is image indexing. Our main questions are: How can SBBA index their pictures for a possible publication on the Internet? Are there any pros or cons in the determination of topics in children?s images, and in that case, which? What search paths are important when indexing children?s pictures, and why are they important? To answer these questions, the thesis is built on a wide study of interdisciplinary literature. But also on SBBA: s own handbook for image ?registration?, and on interviews with the persons working at the archive SBBA, in Eskilstuna.

The aim of this master thesis is to examine the attitudes among library staff regarding a music downloading service called Musikwebb, which is available in many Swedish public libraries. It focuses on the impact of Musikwebb on the process of music selection, the relationship between Musikwebb and the digital development in public libraries and what service Musikwebb offers its users. The gathering of material was executed through focus group interviews with library staff in four libraries. This empirical material we divided in three categories: Music selection, The Library and its digital services, and Library services. We use the results of Sanna Talja?s discourse analysis regarding the relationship between Music, Culture and the Library to analyze our material.

This thesis is performed as a case study, and has had the aim to study who has the power over cultural heritage, by studying the digitization selection criteria at KB and what influences there can be on the digitization selection process. The theory of the arm?s length principle, (Mangset, Kunst og makt, 2013) the professional model, (Rothstein, 2010), that digitization re-shape and re-contextualize cultural heritage material, (Dahlström et al. 2013), and different concepts will influence the digitization selection process has been used in this study. A qualitative research with document study and informant interview and e-mail interview has been conducted.

This thesis presents a study aiming to identify the selection criteria for the digitization of posters at the National Library of Sweden (Kungl. biblioteket). The theory is that cultural heritage institutions are empowered to decide how our cultural heritage is presented as they select what items (or, as in this study, posters) will be digitized. The poster is studied as it is an interesting media form which historically was an important means of communication. The poster can represent and reflect historical events and opinions in society.

Hur kommer Digitaliseringen att förändra biografbranschen? Kommer den att förändras?.

The purpose of this Bachelor?s thesis is twofold. Firstly it aims to make a contribution to the understanding of how five Swedish Diocesan libraries have carried out the digitizing of their rare book and manuscript collections. Problem areas related to this activity are also investigated. Secondly, it aims to examine the relative guidelines and standardization norms, which have been formulated on a national basis.

The aim of this two year master thesis is to analyze how digital preservation is presented as a problem in the Swedish national strategy for the digitization and digital preservation of the Swedish cultural heritage. In order to study which assumptions about digital preservation exists within the strategy I apply the discourse oriented methodological tools presented by Carol Lee Bacchi, which focuses on discerning what problem or, rather, representation of a problem exists within a specific policy. This study is a post-structuralist discourse analysis. The main focus of the study is on what assumptions and prerequisites the dominating representation of the problem is based upon and how the representation has evolved. The main material of the study consists of public investigations conducted by the Swedish state, governmental propositions and replies as well as other public documents upon which Bacci's methodological tools are applied.Results show that digital preservation is primarily interpreted as a financial problem as the national strategy and its surrounding documents stress the need of cost-efficient solutions.

Denna studie har undersökt hur svenska artister och representanter från svenska skivbolag uppfattar det rådande digitaliserade medieklimatets inverkan på musikbranschen. Syftet var att ta reda på hur artister samt skivbolag förhåller sig mot sociala medier, samt att undersöka hur deras upplevelser från en allt mer digitaliserad musikbransch ser ut. För att kunna utvinna en så djup analys som möjligt har jag använt mig av en kvalitativ metod där jag har genomfört fem djupintervjuer, varav tre med representanter från tre olika skivbolag, samt två med två olika osignerade artister. Jag valde att genomföra intervjuer med dessa två olika aktörer i hopp om att kunna få olika perspektiv i mina frågor. Jag har relaterat min analys till teorier om bland annat Digitalisering, medieproduktion samt fankulturen. Resultatet har visat på att sociala medier är något mycket viktigt gällande både artisters kamp om att nå framgång i en allt hårdare konkurrens där bruset av osignerade band och artister blir intensivare, samt när det gäller skivbolags arbete med att marknadsföra sina artister. Dock råder det delade uppfattningar mellan artisterna och de olika skivbolagen rörande hur de sociala medierna bör användas.

Konceptet Building Information Modeling, tillsammans med den snabba IT-utvecklingen ger företag i bygg- och fastighetssektorn möjlighet att utveckla och effektivisera sin verksamhet. Vi tror att det finns utrymme för fastighetsbolag att förbättra och effektivisera sin verksamhet. Ett sätt att utvecklas och nyttja nyare teknologi ser vi i Digitalisering av fastigheter där all relevant information ska finns samlad, tillgänglig och ständigt uppdaterad..

Det är välkänt att högreflekterande ytor är svåra att skanna med ett bra resultat. Detta är ett särskilt stort problem vid användning av detaljskannrar, eftersom de ofta används för att digitalisera objekt av metall eller andra material med hög reflektans. Konsekvensen blir att osäkerhet och avvikelser i skanningsresultatet ökar, eller att skanningen inte ger något resultat alls. Därför är det viktigt att känna till hur stor inverkan ytor med hög reflektans har på skanningen. Målsättningen med detta examensarbete har varit att undersöka hur avvikelsen varierar vid skanning av högreflekterande ytor.

Detta har medf?rt b?de f?rdelar och utmaningar f?r revisionsf?retag i olika storlekar. Mindre f?retag kan ha problem med resurser och inf?rande av ny teknik, medan st?rre f?retag kan utnyttja sina omfattande resurser f?r att anpassa och f?rb?ttra sina digitala verktyg. Syfte: Syftet med studien ?r att analysera hur Digitaliseringen p?verkat revisionsprocessen och unders?ka eventuella skillnader mellan mindre och st?rre revisionsf?retag.

Den här uppsatsen är ett försök till att analysera ny digital och digitaliserad litteratur med hjälp utav medieteorier och intervjuer med lokala aktörer i det litterära produktionsfältet, först och främst förläggare. Jag har två mål med min avhandling: att ge en överblick över hur dagens digitala landskap ser ut och hur vi, både som kulturkonsumenter och -producenter kan förhålla oss till dessa nya medier när de är så pass abstrakta som de är idag..

AbstractThe banking industry has during later years gone through several technological changes (Svenska Bankföreningen 2014). These big changes have led to several advantages seen both from a customer ? and corporate point of view. Advantages in easier usage, increased availability and more competition have made the banks more cost effective at the same time as the customer is being offered better prices. Even though the advantages seem to weigh over the disadvantages there are still those who thinks that things where ?better in the past?.

The purpose of my one year master?s thesis is to add a documentation of a data processing-process of photo- graphs to the administration of archives. The thesis is written from an archival science perspective which is to be seen in my choice of literature, method and questions at issue. To be able to form a documentation of a data processing-process I studied DiBiS, a company specialized in digitalizing old photographs and publish them on a online database. I also added a chapter where I studied how archival institutions used to handle their old photo- graphs in a traditional manner so the reader of this thesis will be able to understand and see the differences be- tween traditional and modern photograph management.
