Digital preservation is a relatively new subject to Swedish archives. Alhough computers have been used for a long time, preservation has been made on paper and stored on shelves. These days a lot of cities in Sweden have investigated how to best secure the digital information for the future through electronic archiving, e-archives. One option is to hand in the information as soon as possible, but to let the producer keep the information ownership yet some time. The idea is to let the producers of the information answer questions and hand out material, since they are more competent on their field.

This master thesis aims to examine how public libraries in Sweden are practically and ideologically equipped to deal with e-books, outside of the dominant distributor Elib. The study also aims to find out what?s required of the book market and the public libraries to make further progress in the question of e-books. In Sweden e-books are still representing only a small amount of all the library loans and an even smaller amount of the commercial book market.The methodological and theoretical ground for the thesis is Grounded Theory, and the survey is based on interviews with publishers, librarians and distributors.The conclusions of this thesis are that the public libraries lack resources to invest in e-books, and that they also lack in knowledge about the media and its readers. It also exposes that both internal and external collaboration efforts need to be further developed.

Learning Management Systems (LMSs) hold great potential to support learning activities, for example by providing teachers and students with new and extended spaces for interaction and collaboration. However, this potential appears to be difficult to realize, and despite their perceived learning benefits, the reality is that LMSs are being used primarily for administrative purposes. Meanwhile, external pedagogical tools are successfully put into practice to improve learning outcomes, and the aim of this study is therefore to identify and discuss benefits and disadvantages associated with the LMS as a concept. By interviewing secondary school teachers, we disentangle the idea of integrating administrative and pedagogical aids into a single platform, providing detailed insight into the use of digital tools in secondary education. The study contributes to a deepened understanding of integrated learning environments, and we conclude that there is a conflict between structure and flexibility that needs to be addressed before determining the design of a digital learning space..

The purpose of this study was to illustrate how children of the "digital generation" used their computers in their everyday practice. The important in the study was children's perspective on computers interactions and communications in a digital arena.An essential item about understanding children's way to think about computers was to let children themselves speak by taking part in the study, because children's voices are seldom heard in public. The empirical material used was interviews with sex children between 13 and 15 years old. My method was qualitative.The main results showed that social relations are very important for children. The Internet gives children access to an arena where they are able to make new contacts with others as well as transcend their biological as their physical identity.An important accepts for the children in the study was the option to be anonymous.

This is a qualitative case study of young womens? experiences of blogging about One Direction on the social media/microblogging platform Tumblr. The aim of this study was to find out what fan blogging is and why fans blog. We did this by creating an account on Tumblr where we invited young women between the ages of 16?29, who had active fan blogs dedicated to One Direction, to answer an open-ended questionnaire.

AbstractIn this text the attitudes towards and using of blogs in teaching Swedish toteenagers will be explored. The results are based on a survey made amongst 17teachers and 58 students from all over Sweden. The end results show that theusage of blog still hasn?t found a permanent way into the classrooms, but has anappeal to and is being used by predominantly younger teachers both, male andfemale, with a positive response from students regardless of gender. Denna uppsats syftar till att redogöra för hur producentens roll i musikproduktioner har utvecklats i förhållande till ny teknik. Förhoppningsvis kan denna kunskap leda till en bättre förståelse om yrkets utveckling och hjälpa (aspirerande) producenter att utveckla och anpassa sitt kunskapsområde därefter. En undersökning i form av intervjuer med två producenter/ tekniker har genomförts för att besvara vad som enligt dem är producentens roll i musikproduktioner och hur teknikens utveckling har påverkat dem i sina roller. Uppsatsens teoretiska ramverk är inspirerad av det sociokulturella perspektivet som visar på hur vi lär oss av den sociala och kulturella omgivning vi lever i. Resultaten visar att producentens roll blir alltmer multifunktionell och att vara musikproducent idag kan innebära att man sköter om allt från teknik till komposition, för att bara nämna några ansvarsområden.

I Skolverkets (2009) förslag till förtydligande av läroplanen för förskolan lyfts naturvetenskap och teknik fram som ämnen som ska tydliggöras. Samtidigt visar forskning och utvärderingar att kunskap och intresse inom dessa ämnen sviktar hos svenska ungdomar. Med anledning därav genomfördes denna studie med syftet att undersöka vilken kompetens som finns på förskolan inom ämnena naturvetenskap och teknik samt hur den synliggörs på förskolan i dag. Ytterligare forskningsfrågor som ställdes i denna studie är vad pedagoger själva anser behöver förbättras genom kompetensutveckling och om de upplever att det är någon skillnad på intresset för ämnena hos flickor respektive hos pojkar i förskolan och i så fall på vilket sätt?Denna studie genomfördes med dels en enkätundersökning i en kommun i mellansverige och dels med hjälp av en observationsstudie genomförd på en förskola som profilerar sig mot ämnena naturvetenskap och teknik.

Vårt syfte med denna studie är att belysa förskolebarns kommunikation, samarbete, motivation och deras uppfattning om vad de lär sig. Detta har vi undersökt ur ett sociokulturellt perspektiv på vår litteraturbakgrund och sedan kopplat till observationer med efterföljande intervjuer. Vi har bearbetat vårt insamlade material genom att kategorisera olika sätt att interagera. Litteraturgenomgången visar att det är en fördel att använda datorn tillsammans med andra, vilket vi också sett i vår undersökning. Barnens konstanta språkande för att förklara och beskriva vad de ser på datorskärmen stimulerar språkutvecklingen och får dem att reflektera över sitt eget lärande..

Examensarbetet är utfört på Linköpings Universitet, Institutionen för Medicinsk Teknik och bygger på att undersöka möjligheterna för trådlös överföring av mätvärden via Bluetooth. Mätningarna gäller två olika hårdvaror som med metoden PPG mäter blodflöde, en ny förenklad hårdvara och en mer avancerad och tidigare utvecklad hårdvara. Arbetet är tvådelat, under första delen upprättades en kommunikation med Bluetooth och två metoder för överföring av data undersöktes. Under andra delen togs ett gränssnitt fram i utvecklingsmiljön LabVIEW för styrning av hårdvarorna samt för åskådliggörandet av mätdata. Metoderna som undersöktes för dataöverföring är att antingen kontinuerligt skicka samplat data direkt från en AD-omvandlare eller att fylla bluetoothmodulens minne för att därefter skicka samtliga värden samtidigt.

The purpose of this thesis is to compare mass digitization and qualitative digitization, to see how the digitization process and the digitalized material differ. The study emanates from the mass digitization as it is performed at the National Library in Norway, and the qualitative digitization at the Royal Library in Sweden. The method used is document studies combined with mail interviews. The focus is upon the practical operation, to which counts: ?purpose & selection?, ?preparation, image capturing and processing?, ?metadata & text encoding?, ?quality assessment?, ?storage of digital originals and copies? and ?display?.
