This thesis deals with the numerical 3D simulation of a four stroke, spark-ignited, internalcombustion engine, which is mounted on a high performance motorcycle. The work, carried outin collaboration with Politecnico di Milano and MV Agusta, focuses on the simulation of theintake, compression and expansion stroke, including combustion simulation, using an opensource CFD code.Simulation of internal combustion engines offers a great challenge in the field of CFD research.Moving boundaries of the solution domain, caused by the motion of the piston and valves, leadsto deformation of the computational grid, with decreasing quality of the solution as result. Basedon this, a previously developed mesh motion strategy was employed where a number of meshesare used to cover the whole simulation cycle. Within each mesh interval the internal cell pointsof the mesh are moved to account for the boundary motion of the piston and valves. This strategywas previously applied to simplified geometries as well as real engine geometries.

In May 2010 the plans for Malmö?s new Concert Hall, Conference Centre and Hotel were announced publically. The purpose of this thesis was to present strategy for communication in order to gain approval for the new concert and conference center from the inhabitants inMalmö and to incorporate the use of it in their everyday life.Material from the receiver?s as well as the sender?s perspective has been collected from qualitative interviews. Through group interviews we have investigated the general consensus of the inhabitants of Malmö regarding the investment, placing, offered events, expectations as well as how they collected information.

In the production of pulp, paper and cardboard, a large amount of water is used daily. The water has to be purified in the internal purifying plant before it reaches the receiving body of water. In the biological purifying stage at the Stora Enso Skoghall mill, an aerated basin is used where the microorganisms, using oxygen, oxidize the organic material to carbon dioxide. The air is pumped from the bottom of the basin and the oxygen can then be transported from the air bubbles to the water through Diffusion. The problem with aeration of waste water from the forest industry is that wood residues, such as fatty acids, are making the transport of oxygen in water more difficult.

Frågorna är många när det kommer till att förstå uppkomsten av trender i vårt samhälle. Trender kan antas påverka individers konsumtionsbeteende samt öppna upp nya marknader för företag att etablera sig på. Således borde det finnas ett intresse hos organisationer att på något sätt kunna påverka utvecklandet av nya trender. En utgångspunkt är att anta att det finns "trendsättare" som avsiktligt är med och bildar trender, men vilka är då dessa trendsättare? Den centrala forskarfrågan, som uppsatsen ämnar svara på är; Hur uppstår och skapas trender? Syftet är att undersöka huruvida det finns en medveten trendproduktion eller om det är så att trender uppstår på ett spontant sätt.

I uppsatsen utreds indirekta förebilders påverkan på svenska förtonåringars modeval av kläder och skor. Mycket av den forskning som gjorts tidigare berör andra marknader än den svenska och andra produkter än kläder varför vi anser vårt valda område tämligen outforskat. Vi redogör i uppsatsen för teorier som behandlar modespridning, barnens roll som konsumenter, kommunikation, varumärken, referensgrupper, self-concept, symbolisk konsumtion och familjens beslutsroller. Resultatet från de kvalitativa intervjuer som vi genomfört med pojkar och flickor i åldern tio till tolv år redovisas. Slutsatserna är att förtonåringarna har ett uttalat idolskap från i första hand sportvärlden och i andra hand musikbranschen.

SammanfattningStudien syftar till att ge fördjupad kunskap om svenskt internationellt biståndsarbete samt hur problem formuleras och lösningar konstrueras av biståndsorganisationernas arbetsätt.  Studien är genomförd med en kvalitativ metod och det empiriska materialet har inhämtats genom intervjuer. Intervjuerna genomfördes med tre ledande personer från två svenska biståndsorganisationer som arbetar på internationell nivå. Vidare inryms i studien observationer från dessa två biståndsorganisationer. Studiens teoretiska perspektiv är den postkoloniala teorin, teorin om konstruktion av sociala problem samt begreppen kolonialism och eurocentrisk Diffusion.Resultatet i studien visar att de studerade biståndsorganisationerna i stora drag har ett liknande tillvägagångssätt i sitt arbete med internationellt bistånd.

De flesta sociala och ekonomiska förändringar som sker inom organisationer är ett resultat utav spridningen av idéer eller fenomen. För denna studie så är det redovisningsinnovationers spridning med direkt eller indirekta krav på tillämpning bland organisationer inom den offentliga sektorn som är av intresse. Studiens undersökningsområde är fokuserat på att studera detta fenomen utifrån hur redovisningsinnovationen komponentavskrivning spridits och antagits inom Norrlands kommuner. Rekommendationerna från Rådet för Kommunal Redovisning som behandlat komponentavskrivning har tidigare inte innehållit något explicit krav på tillämpning av metoden. Detta förändrades dock i och med den senaste rekommendationen från år 2014 som innehåller ett explicit krav.

Byggbranschen har länge brottats med fuktproblem som följts av fuktskador. Nya tekniska lösningar, som skall få bukt med problemen, har inte alltid visat sig fungera. Med detta som bakgrund har en av dessa tekniska lösningar, en variabel ångspärr utretts.  Moelven Byggmodul AB tillverkar modulhus av olika slag och i detta arbete har en ny takkonstruktion hos ett av deras modulsystem undersökts utifrån ett fuktsäkerhetsperspektiv. Det ursprungliga taket använder en ventilerad luftspalt för att ventilera bort fukt som kan förekomma.

Nätverkssamhälle, informationssamhälle, kunskapssamhälle. Begrepp som dessa dyker upp iallt fler sammanhang, använda av såväl samtidsobservatörer som visionärer. En uppfattningom att det samhälle vi ser idag väsentligen skiljer sig från det industrisamhälle somdominerade 1900-talet är inte svår att nära, och den för många självklara komponent somtillförts är just information och de mekanismer som omgärdar den. Att förändra samhället ärdock inget som enbart isolerad teknikutveckling åstadkommer. Tidigare forskning beskriverhur tekniken har inkorporerats i våra liv, förändrat våra vardagliga sysslor och det sättmänniskor kommunicerar med varandra.

I detta tvärvetenskapliga arbete studeras från den matematiska sidan tre klassiska populationsmodeller: Malthus tillväxtmodell, Verhulsts logistiska modell och Lotka-Volterras jägarebytesmodell. De klassiska modellerna jämförs med stokastiska. De stokastiska modeller som studeras är födelsedödsprocesser och deras Diffusionsapproximation. Jämförelse görs med medelvärdesbildade simuleringar.Det krävs många simuleringar för att kunna genomföra jämförelserna. Dessa simuleringar måste utföras i datormiljö och det är här den datalogiska aspekten av arbetet kommer in.
