ABSTRACT The persons whom the authorized nurse encounters in hospital wards and nursing homes are in great extent elderly persons. According to Wasserman (2000), about 30 to 40 percent among these, show signs of depression. To be aware of the signs of depression, and how an authorized nurse can support the patient is therefore of great value. The introduction to this study describes the symptoms of depression and how depression in elders is expressed. It also describes treatment possibilities and nursing aspects of concern.

Det finns idag cirka 300 000 personer med diabetes i Sverige. Varje år insjuknar cirka 200 vuxna av 100 000 vuxna i diabetes. Diabetes är en allvarlig sjukdom och medför en förkortad livslängd på grund av sjukdomen. Motion har vistats medföra positiva effekter och göra att personer med diabetes mår bättre då motion ger bättre balans i blodsockret. Det övergripande syftet med studien var att vinna mer kunskap om behovet av information om vikten av fysisk aktivitet riktat till diabetiker samt att vinna mer kunskap om behovet av åtgärder för att främja fysisk aktivitet.

Supervision has a strong impact on students` professional development. It is during clinical education that students will receive help in linking theory and practice. This study aimed to describe the meaning of good supervision among nursing students in clinical practice. A qualitative design was used. Nine nursing students in western Sweden, who had all experienced good supervision in clinical practice, were interviewed.The interviews were analyzed using a descriptive phenomenological methodology.The meaning of the phenomenon, good supervision in clinical education among nursing students, was shown as the students were gradually piloted to increased responsibility.

Bakgrund och problemformulering: Prevalens av typ 2 diabetes ökar dramatiskt i olika länder och är speciellt kopplad till ohälsosamt beteende och felaktig livsstil. Diabetes kan leda till utveckling av en rad olika sjukdomar såsom hjärt- och kärlsjukdomar, nedsatt syn eller blindhet och amputation. P.g.a. allvarligakomplikationer och ökad dödlighet bland dessa patienter krävs evidensbaserade vårdinsatser och effektiv rådgivning. Distriktssköterskan har möjlighet att verka hälsofrämjande.

Bakgrund: Migrationen ökar över hela världen. Sverige har, i likhet med andra länder, förvandlats från ett relativt homogent till ett multikulturellt samhälle. Varje kultur har sin syn på hälsa och sjukdom. Vårdpersonal uppger att de upplever stora svårigheter i mötet med patienter från andra kulturer. Syfte: Denna studies syfte var att belysa hur sjuksköterskor och sjuksköterskestudenter upplever mötet med patienter från andra kulturer.

En intervjustudie om hur utlandsfödda föräldrar vars barn drabbats av diabetes erfarit svensk barnsjukvård i relation till att vara förälder. Ändamålet är att öka förståelsen för dessa föräldrars reaktioner med siktet att förbättra bemötandet. Tre föräldrapar deltog; tre mammor och två pappor har intervjuats var och en för sig. Föräldrarna är födda och uppvuxna i östeuropeiska länder, har varit i Sverige 14-24 år. De tillfrågades om deltagande av specialsköterskan i diabetes på Barn-ungdomssjukhuset.

Bakgrund: Fotsår är en vanlig komplikation vid diabetes typ 2. För att minska risken för fotsår och amputationer ska sjuksköterskan med hjälp av styrdokument och lagar arbeta tillsammans med personen för en bättre vård. Syfte: Att beskriva sjuksköterskeledda fotvårdsinterventioner och dess effekter för personer med diabetes typ 2. Metod: Studien är gjord som en litteraturstudie med elva vetenskapliga originalartiklar. Resultat: Resultatet utgår ifrån tre huvudkategorier.
