Att lägga om sin livsstil är inte lätt, men i många fall kan det vara nödvändigt för att bibehålla en god hälsa. Ett exempel på ett sådant tillfälle är vid en diabetesdiagnos, där förstahandsbehandlingen består i livsstilsförändring, som främst innefattar kost, motion och rökstopp. Resultat från tidigare forskning visar att det är viktigt att patienten är motiverad att genomföra en livsstilsförändring, och även diabetessköterskorna i den här studien är av den uppfattningen. Det är viktigt att patienten själv tar ansvaret för sin sjukdom, det är bara han eller hon som kan förändra sin livsstil. Syftet med studien var att undersöka hur diabetessköterskorna hjälpte sina patienter att hitta motivation till livsstilsförändring.

This study is a follow up of a pilot study made 2004, that evaluated feeding, exercise and weight as possible risk factors for developing any kind of diabetes in dogs. We have selected our material for a certain kind of DM that exists among Norwegian and Swedish elkhounds. These breeds are among the most common breeds affected by diabetes and this kind of DM almost exclusively affects intact bitches. We performed a case- control study where the owners were interviewed over the phone. The owners of a total of 48 case dogs and 58 control dogs were contacted. The questions for the cases focused on the time before the diagnosis and the questions for the control dogs focused on the dog´s adult life.

Sammanfattning Bakgrund: Typ 1 diabetes är en av de vanligaste kroniska sjukdomarna bland barn. Målet för all diabetesbehandling hos barn är att normalisera blodsockernivån för att undvika senkomplikationer i vuxen ålder. Eftersom barnet tillbringar en stor del av dagen i skolan så behöver behandlingen fungera bra under skoldagen. År 2008 uppgav barndiabetesteam i Sverige att ca 50 % av alla barn med diabetes i låg- och mellanstadiet inte får ett tillräckligt stöd i sin diabetesbehandling i skolan. En funktion som diabeteskonsulent har testats i Jönköpings läns landsting under två år för att erbjuda kunskaper som skolpersonal behöver angående diabetes.Syfte: Att beskriva diabeteskonsulentens möjlighet att påverka de stöd som barn med typ 1 diabetes får i skolan.

Background: The relationship between advanced age, presence of illness and impaired functioning is well known. A large proportion of the elderly population has an extensive need of care and service and therefore need help from municipal care. Aging is a transition in life and also affects the person's identity and self image, making the person particularly vulnerable and challenging everyday safety. It is therefore of importance to gain knowledge about which factors at individual and organizational level that support a person-centered nursing care for the elderly so that caring responsibilities and staffing of nursing personnel may be scheduled based on need. Aim: This study aimed at describing dependency and care needs of elderly persons living in ordinary housing, sheltered housing and nursing homes. Furthermore the study aimed at describing how the dependency was related to the staffing of non-licensed and licensed nursing staff in nursing homes. Method: A descriptive and analytical quantitative method was used in the study.

Between 1999 and 2009, I followed three of my grandparents, all of whom suffered from dementia. Numerous times, when I visited them in their nursing homes, I was met by residents of the ward who were very unhappy. Through conversations at home with my family, I understood more and more that this was a commonly occurring problem at nursing homes. All too often it was solved with heavy medication, which made the residents tired and they slept more often.During my undergraduate education at Konstfack, I have reflected on whether I, as an interior designer and furniture designer, can have an influence on spaces and furniture so that dementia patients can experience greater calm and security. The idea is if that I perceive the environment as calm and secure, I will also be calm and secure.In my degree project, I want to study how interior design and furniture design can contribute to decreased agitation in people with dementia in nursing homes..

Ökningen av sjukdomen och att den sjunker lägre ner i åldrar, beror på att ärftlighet, livsstil och att vi lever längre idag. Syftet: Syftet var att undersöka patientens upplevelse av vilka faktorer som gynnar motivationen till att genomgå en livsstilsförändring vid Diabetes Mellitus typ 2. Metod: En systematisk kvalitativ litteraturstudie, där 10 kvalitativa vetenskapliga artiklar ligger till grund för resultatet.

BakgrundTonåringar befinner sig i en kritisk period i livet då många förändringar sker både fysiskt och psykiskt. Perioden kan innefatta stress kring skolan men även att testa bland annat alkohol, vilka båda är faktorer som påverkar glukosnivån i blodet. Att vara tonåring med diabetes innebär dagliga överväganden och beslut samt ett ansvarstagande för att kunna hantera sin sjukdom. Sjuksköterskans roll är att stödja, utbilda samt informera patienten om betydelsen av levnadsvanor och riskfaktorer. Patientutbildningen syftar till att individen själv ska kunna påverka behandlingen och bli mer delaktig i sin egenvård. SyfteSyftet var att beskriva diabetessjuksköterskans erfarenheter av att stödja tonåringar med typ 1 diabetes i att hantera sin sjukdom. MetodStudiens metod var en kvalitativ intervjustudie.
