Aim. The aim of the study was to describe how nurses in home care experience to pursue palliative care in ordinary housing. Methods. The study had a descriptive design with qualitative approach and was carried out through semi-structured interviews with 14 nurses in home health care from two medium-sized Swedish municipalities. The material was analyzed with manifest and latent content analysis. Findings. The underlying theme that emerged in the study was: Working with palliative care in the patient´s own homes is positive but challenging. Informants describe among other things that they perceived palliative home care as meaningful and that relatives have a central role in the palliative home care since they are close to the patient around the clock. The stress that emerges from the heavy work load and the long geographic distances are described as strenuous and to affect the care in a negative way. Informants describe the home environment as challenging as it is often not adapted for care and the collaboration with the palliative team is described to be experienced as both positive and negative.

Bakgrund: Diabetes var en sjukdom som krävde mycket från både patient och vårdpersonal. Samarbetet mellan dessa parter spelade en viktig roll för hur patienten hanterade sin diabetes. För att samarbetet skulle fungera var det nödvändigt att patienten hade möjlighet att inta en aktiv roll. Det var viktigt att varje patient sågs som unik och vårdpersonal skulle i sitt arbete sträva efter att förstå hur var och en upplevde sin värld. Syfte: Studiens syfte var att erhålla fördjupad förståelse för faktorer som hade betydelse för hur patienter med diabetes upplevde kontakten och mötet med vårdpersonal.

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a relatively common endocrine disease in dogs and is more common in certain breeds than others, e.g. Nordic spitz breeds. Within the Swedish and Norwegian Elkhound population, female dogs are almost exclusively affected. The hypothesis in this study is that Swedish- and Norwegian Elkhounds develop DM during the progesterone phase of estrous (diestrous or pregnancy). Medical records from 51 female dogs of the breeds Swedish and Norwegian Elkhound were studied.

Att vara tonåring med diabetes innebär dagliga överväganden och beslut samt ett ansvarstagande för att kunna hantera sin sjukdom. Sjuksköterskans roll är att stödja, utbilda samt informera patienten om betydelsen av levnadsvanor och riskfaktorer. Patientutbildningen syftar till att individen själv ska kunna påverka behandlingen och bli mer delaktig i sin egenvård. SyfteSyftet var att beskriva diabetessjuksköterskans erfarenheter av att stödja tonåringar med typ 1 diabetes i att hantera sin sjukdom. MetodStudiens metod var en kvalitativ intervjustudie.

Empowerment introducerades som begrepp inom diabetesvården i början av 1990-talet talet och innebär en strävan att öka patientens personliga ansvar och förmåga att ta kontroll samt hantera sin sjukdom. Studiens syfte var att beskriva hur empowermentfokuserad omvårdnad kan inverka på diabetespatientens välbefinnande samt egenvårdsförmåga. Studien baserades på en litteraturöversikt med kvalitativ ansats där både kvalitativa och kvantitativa artiklar låg till grund för resultatet. Analysen genomfördes som en manifest innehållsanalys med induktiv ansats.

Det metabola syndromet är ett utbrett och omfattande problem. På grund av syndromets komplexa symtombild valdes insulinresistens alternativt diabetes typ 2 att belysas, eftersom detta är WHO:s (World Health Organisation) huvud-kriterium för syndromet. En stor del av sjuksköterskans arbete med dessa patienter är undervisning. Syftet med föreliggande studie var att belysa sjuksköterskans undervisande funktion i arbetet med patienter med insulinresistens alternativt diabetes typ 2. Litteraturstudie utfördes med 8 inkluderade artiklar som analyserades med manifest innehållsanalys.

The core process is responsible for internal business development and is the process that runs through the organization and the results which creates a value for the customer. Some research suggests that identification of the client's conscious or unconscious needs clarifying the so-called core process in the organization and operations can thus be more effective. The study aims to identify and analyze the experience of the core process within child health care. The method has been interviews with nine managers and 10 clinic nurses in a county. The results show a lack of knowledge regarding core process and process work.

The aim of this study was to investigate how maternity and child care was carried out at Regional Hospital in Morogoro, Tanzania as well as how it was perceived by mothers and children. The study was conducted with a qualitative method through observation and interviews. The results of the study showed that the staff knew what they were doing and how they should treat their patients and that they helped them without thinking about preventive measures. The study concluded that people wanted to seek the care provided at the hospital and some people stated that they had confidence in the staff. The people that came to the hospital sought care for various diseases and conditions and they all got medical attention of some sort.

Bakgrund: I Sverige lever omkring 310 250 personer med typ 2 diabetes. Egenvård omfattar olika aktiviteter som en person måste utöva dagligen för att ha kontroll över sjukdomen. Omvårdnad vid diabetesvård baseras råd, utbildning och stöd. Syfte: Syftet med litteraturöversikten var att utifrån ett patientperspektiv beskriva faktorer som påverkar egenvård hos patienter med typ 2 diabetes. Metod: Litteratursökningarna utfördes i databaserna Cinahl och Pubmed.

Aim: To examine how midwives describe good and safe postpartum care of mothers with infants in neonatal care, and which prerequisites and obstacles they see to giving good and safe care while minimizing time of separation. Method: Semi structured qualitative interviews with ten midwives at two maternity wards in Uppsala. The interviews were recorded, transcribed verbatim and processed by manifest analysis. Results: Three categories were identified, Good and safe care, Organization as an obstacle and The midwife role. Good and safe postpartum care of mothers with infants in neonatal care required knowledge, appropriate equipment, good guidelines, possibility to see the mother, contact between mother and infant and good collaboration between the maternity and neonatal wards.

Background: There are many possible reasons why a patient gets a stoma and in every case it?s of importance for the nurse to adjust nursing care, information and patient education from individual presuppositions. Problem: Patient education regarding stoma self-care is an important part of the nurse?s work within stoma care. The patient is depending on the guidance of the nurse and therefore it is relevant to illuminate the importance of education regarding gaining ability to perform self-care.

Diabetes typ 1 är en sjukdom som oftast drabbar barn i tonåren, men kan även drabba yngre. Den upptar mycket tid på grund av blodglukoskontrollerna för att undvika komplikationer. Balanserad kost, samt daglig motion är en del av behandlingen. Barnen kan ta ansvar över egenvården, men behöver stöd från föräldrarna. För att hantera sjukdomen krävs planering och för alla inblandade blir livet förändrat.
