The project objective was to make parts of our cultural heritage available as a resource for learning, by developing the pedagogical activities on a medieval castle, that today functions as a museum. I also wanted to explore the role of a Designer in a process that aims to develop the interaction between schools and cultural institutions.By a selection of objects and locations in the castle, illustrations with accompanying texts were made, which through the children?s imaginative ability may bring them to a historical scenario. This resulted in a working material that supports the children?s activities and reflections during their visit to the castle.

Idag är allting annorlunda, företagens webbplats är ofta deras ansikte utåt. Det första som en potentiell kund kommer kontakt med när de söker efter information om olika tjänster och produkter är det på företagens webbplats. Och faktum är, i dagens näringsliv, vill alla företag visa det bästa ansikte för allmänheten.

För att göra interaktionen på en webbplats användbar via flera olika plattformar blir det allt vanligare med responsiv anpassning. Denna utveckling ställer högre krav på den grafiska formgivaren som bör ha god kunskap om de plattformar som designen tillämpas på för att nå högsta möjliga användbarhet. En grafisk formgivare ska alltså förstå vad användbarhet innebär och hur denna kunskap ska tillämpas i designen. Kandidatarbetet undersöker vad som definierar användbarhet och vad grafisk design bidrar till i skapandet av responsiva webbplatser.

The aim of this study is to get a deeper understanding about user tests as well as answer the question about if testing for users is necessary at all times. I've done a comparison between what the literature says, and what a company says, about testing. The tests that's been in focus in this study is prototyping and card sorting tests. Prototyping aims to give the developer feedback about the design and check if there are any obvious problems with the design. A card sorting test can be used to get input about how information architecture should be constructed.

This work is a study in how I as a Designer can create the conditions for people to work, socializing and refreshments at one place. A place that encourages creativity, where I made a suggestion at a community table designed for Urban Deli?s new business. By visiting various similar sites I have identified what I think is important in an environment like this and then gave an answer to it in a visual form.A cafe-office will draw lots of different people. Which guests come here to work? Residents, freelancers, but also those who may want surrounded by a new creative work place and maybe leave their regular offices for a day at Urban Deli.

The study addresses the field of design as a profession and examines the views on strategic management in a design project among nine selected graphic Designers. The graphic Designers who participate in the study are permanently employed at design companies in Stockholm. The study has a qualitative approach and the method is based on face-to-face interviews. We have chosen to examine this subject due to the opinion among professionals that strategic management in the design industry has increased during the last decades. There is a belief that strategic management in some cases are used too extensively as a way for design companies to make more money.

Globaliseringen och den ökande konkurrensen har gjort att svenska företag inte kan konkurrera med pris på mogna marknader. Mjuka värden har tagit teknikens plats som strategisk konkurrensfaktor. Teknikorienterade företag har tvingats att skapa mjuka värden i sina produkter för att konkurrera mot de utländska lågprisaktörerna.För att tekniska företag ska kunna skapa mjuka värden krävs att de har ett nära samarbete mellan konstruktören och Designern. Detta samarbete är beroende av flera faktorer för att uppnå ett tillfredställande resultat.Denna studie belyser de faktorer i samarbetet mellan Designer och konstruktör som är viktiga för att skapa mervärde vid produktutvecklingen på en mättad marknad. Det empiriska materialet har samlats in från tre fallföretag och deras kunder.

Att föra en bra kommunikation vid designprocesser är nyckeln till ett lyckat designresultat. Vid designsituationer där Designer och projektledare inte befinner sig på samma ort, utan istället cirka 60 mil ifrån varandra, så går det att påstå att kommunikationen är avgörande för utgången av projektet. I denna designprocess befinner jag, som Designer, mig i Umeå medan min uppdragsgivare och projektledare är lokaliserade i Jukkasjärvi utanför Kiruna. Mitt uppdrag som Designer är att i 3D skapa skisser för hur interiören ska se ut i ICEHOTELS kommande samarbete med Astronomiåret 2009. Den fråga som jag har valt att bearbeta är således hur designarbete på distans kan underlättas.Ett tält kommer att sättas upp under vintern 2008/2009 på älven nedanför ICEHOTEL i Jukkasjärvi.

Syftet med detta projekt är att utvärdera ModFix som verktyg och arbetsmetoden för att skaps fixturer med ModFix. ModFix är ett verktyg som är integrerad i Siemens simuleringsmiljön Process Simulate och används för att skapa modulära fixturer. Målsättningen med arbetsmetoden där fixturer skapas med ModFix är att ledtiden och mantimmarna för att skapa fixturer ska reduceras med 50 % i jämförelse med Volvo Cars nuvarande arbetsmetod där fixturer skapas med Catia V5.ModFix-verktyget består av tre funktioner. Dessa funktioner är; Configuration Administrator, Fixture Designer och Modular Fixture Mapping Report. Configuration Administrator är ModFix´s administrationsverktyg och används för att skapa de fixturbaser och fixturkonfigurationer som senare används för att skapa modulära fixturer med Fixture Designer.
