The final stage of a designers work is always a bit tricky. Design is an abstract phenomenon and no one can tell when a design is really finished. The design process that designers work within has been thoroughly studied but cannot be truly mapped with strict constraints which the designer can follow to succeed. Therefore, in this paper we take a look at the final stage in the design process. The main goal is to get more knowledge and highlight key factors about what designers face when they are about finish their design or what forces them to leave a project that can stay in development for eternity.

Jag fascineras av produktion och hur vi bemästrar tekniker för att skapa vår omgivning. Vi implementerar vetenskap på material och kallar det ingenjörskonst. I mitt examensarbete utgår jag från materialet trä, som är levande och varmt, och genom traditionell böjträteknik formar jag det. Jag fördjupar mig i tekniken genom studiebesök, egna experiment samt teori.Men detta är också design, jag skapar åt användaren. Många av mina timmar går åt att undersöka, utforska och leta form och funktion.

I work on a lighting design for a dance performance to be on tour. A lighting design adapted for
three different conditions was made:
- One comprehensive where I allow myself a great deal of creative freedom, adapted for the
stages with major technical conditions.
- One smaller version for stages with less equipment and with less time for preparation on
site.
- One design for very simple conditions.
I also examine the specific differences between typical theatrical lighting design and typical dance
lighting design, and the best way to prepare for the hands-on stage design phase..
Metanpotential för alger och bioslam blandat med pappersfiber
In this thesis the methane gas potential of three different substrates, two algaes Saccharina latissima and Laminaria digitata and biosludge mixed with paper fiber was studied. This was done by batch experiments in a laboratory environment to examine the gas production and composition of the produced gas.Biogas production is a complex anaerobic digestion process in which various microorganisms decompose the substrate in steps and at the end produce biogas and a residue. Many factors affect the production of gas, for example the substrate content, temperature and pH in the digester.The analysis of methane potential were divided into two experiments. In experiment 1 substrates were digested along with inoculum from Växjö waste water treatment plant in a temperature of about 37 ?C.

Ett problem för den grundläggande fysikundervisningen i skolan är att tyngdkraften ständigt stör experiment och demonstrationer, vilket gör det svårt för eleverna att förstå Newtons första och andra lag. Målet med projektet är att förbättra fysikundervisningen på högskolans bastermin. För att lösa problemet skapade vi en demonstrationsanläggning som effektivt demonstrerar inertialsystem och Newtons andra lag genom att köra ett specialkonstruerat tåg med konstant hastighet eller konstant acceleration. Eleverna har möjlighet att utföra tre olika experiment som styrs via en webbsida eller fjärrkontroll och analysera utgången genom grafer som ritas upp. Lösningen testades med mycket gott resultat.
Grazemore DSS för att optimera utnyttjandet av bete i mjölkproduktionen :
The aim of the study was to investigate if the Grazemore Decision Support System (DSS) is able to provide a grazing management strategy that gives a high utilisation of grazed grass in milk production in the north of Scandinavia. To do this, a grazing experiment was planed and performed during the summer 2005. Simulations in the DSS were run to get a suggestion of how the cows should graze, grazing calendar 1. Deviations and updates during the season resulted in the simulated grazing calendar 2.
During the experiment, the actual milk yield was recorded twice weekly. The difference between actual and predicted milk yield by Grazemore DSS was analysed statistically with regression analysis and the mean square prediction error (MSPE) was estimated.
Synchronous Latency Insensitive Design in FPGA
A design methodology to mitigate timing problems due to long wire delays is proposed. The timing problems are taking care of at architecture level instead of layout level in this design method so that no change is needed when the whole design goes to backend design. Hence design iterations are avoided by using this design methodology. The proposed design method is based on STARI architecture, and a novel initialization mechanism is proposed in this paper. Low frequency global clock is used to synchronize the communication and PLLs are used to provide high frequency working clocks.
Activate Nyhamnen : a design proposal after Kongjian Yu's design approch
This thesis introduces Kongjian Yu?s design approach in terms of industrial heritage conservation in connection to transformation and urban design. The approach is examined respectively on two cases from China and USA. The thesis give a brief introduction to current achievement in conservation research and general profile of industrial conservation practice. Based on case and theory study, Yu?s design approach is carefully applied to an industrial area Nyhamnen in Malmö and a design proposal is produced.

Service Design is a relatively new, unexplored and exciting phenomenon that through an interdisciplinary work methodology designs services. A discussion has been going on for a long time regarding whether there is a difference between products and services. Services are often classified as immaterial, heterogeneous, non-storable and inseparable in relation to products. A question that arises is if something specific characterises the work methodology used regarding service design. The aim with this paper is thus to explain the work methodology when working with service design.
Nutrient effects on microorganism communities in nutrient poor soils
Better, more efficient fertilizers with great productivity and economic returns are needed, but it is important today to find fertilizers that are also sustainable. It is also important to carefully monitor their impact on the environment, including potential side-effects. In this context, the microbial communities that carry out numerous essential functions contributing to a functional ecosystem are of particular interest.
The present study is a complement to a pot experiment that investigated the potential of different waste products for use as fertilizers and how they affect the microbial community. In the pot experiment, the clearest treatment change in microorganism community function was found in the fully fertilized treatment used as a positive control. A current issue today is to try to implement creative design as a way to solve wicked problems in scientific contexts such as HCI. Since the problems are wicked, they have no given solution which makes the traditional methods inadequate. In these cases, creative design can be an alternative. Creative design is not used in scientific contexts because it is viewed as something unaccountable.In this essay we argue that creative design not necessarily have to be unaccounted. We discuss various views of creative design and translate theory to a practical context.
Rekryteringsprocessen ur ett arbetsrättsligt perspektiv : med fokus på Diskrimineringslagen samt Personuppgiftslagen
Tidigare forskning har pekat på att människor och djur som anses sakna ansvar för sin situation väcker mycket empati. Två experiment genomfördes för att se om det förelåg någon skillnad i empati gentemot människor och djur. I Experiment 1 läste 244 studenter om en man, kvinna, katt eller hund som var mer eller mindre ansvarig för att ha hamnat i en svår situation. Empati hade ett negativt samband med ansvar. I Experiment 2 läste 73 studenter om en man eller varg som framställdes lika ansvariga.
Gamers and Game Design: Incorporating Users in the Design Process
This paper deals with the difficulties of applying user-centered design practices as an independent developer, based on the visualization of a game concept in the form of a prototype. The aim is to evaluate the usability of user-centered design practices, specifically in the field of games development. Throughout this paper, I will give an account of the methods used for testing, as well as a review of previous research done in this field of study. Kall potatis i forskningens namn: Konstruktion av ett kompendium som stöder utveckling av processkunskap inom biologiundervisningen i gymnasieskolan
Inom ramen för examensarbetet konstruerades ett kompendium som ska förmedla
kunskap om den vetenskapliga processen genom integration av autentiska experiment i
skolan. Materialet ska hjälpa eleverna att konstruera sina egna experiment och samtidigt
bli medvetna om ?tänkandet bakom görandet?. Kompendiet riktar sig till elever i
gymnasieskolans biologiundervisning, och kan med fördel användas inom kursen
biologi breddning. Den experimentella metoden som används är blodsockermätningar
med eleven själv som mätsystem.
Detaljerad FE-modellering
Detta examensarbete beskriver undersökningen av kärnmaterial i en sandwichpanel under belastning. Arbetet har utförts tillsammans med CCG i Laholm, Sverige. Kärnmaterialen lämpar sig vid design av sandwichpaneler på grund av sin låga vikt och sin förmåga att klara av högt tryck. Då materialet uppvisar ett ickelinjärt beteende skapar det problem vid design av sandwichpaneler och leder till att materialsammansättningarna tillverkas konservativa mot verkligheten. Projektet har gått ut på reducera designprocessen genom att bygga upp och simulera materialmodeller i programvaran ABAQUS för att kunna analysera och förutse materialets beteende.
