The system tungsten-oxygen has potential of being suitable for decorative coatings since ceramic coatings are often hard and wear resistant, and since modulations in oxygen content or incorporation of small ions could give bright colours. The aim of this report was to investigate the relationship between process parameters and  the properties of the films, with the wear resistance being of special interest.Samples with tungsten to oxygen ratios in the range of 100:0 to 25:75 at% were made using reactive sputter deposition, either with constant gas flow, or gas flow controlled by optical emission of the plasma. The hysteresis of the system, which means that a certain gas flow will cause different pressure and/or target voltage depending on in what way the flow is reached, makes it interesting to control the process where the system makes the steep change from metallic tungsten to ceramic tungsten oxide. This is difficult and thus requires precise control equipment.The samples were analysed using X-ray diffraction, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and an empirical wear test suitable for small components like cell phone cover for example, in order to characterize the structure, composition and wear resistance of the coatings. The results could be divided into three groups: (I) tungsten-like, with very low oxygen content; (II) mixed phase and (III) tungsten oxide like, with oxygen content close to 75 at%.

Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att undersöka om religionslärare på grundskolans senare år upplever en konflikt mellan läroplanens mål om en icke-konfessionell, saklig och allsidig undervisning och den tradition som finns inom religionskunskapen med en nära koppling till kristendomen. Undersökningen bygger dels på litteraturstudier, där jag ger en bakgrund till och en definition av relevanta begrepp som icke-konfessionell undervisning, saklig och allsidig undervisning, sekularisering, religionsfrihet samt mångkultur, dels intervjuer med tio religionslärare i Jönköpings kommun. Resultatet visar att lärarna inte upplever någon konflikt kring detta något motsägelsefulla, men att de är mycket medvetna om problematiken som finns kring dessa begrepp och kopplingen till undervisningen i religionskunskap..

This project aims at investigating if the use of UML as a support to small-scale development ofan embedded system is relevant. The investigation is conducted by using UML during the initialphase of the development ofTelfafill, a filling machine by the company ?Telfafill AB?. The aimof the development of Telfafill is to separate the user interface from the control unit. In additionto this main objective, Telfafill AB would like possible changes to, and additions of,functionality of the filling machine to be investigated.Within the boundaries of this project, the development of Telfafill reached a full requirementspecification of the proposed system, and contact was made with potential external developers.No prototype construction had been started when the project ended.

Intelligence is an elusive concept with strong links to business intelligence , in which organizations have recently more and more have incorporated the use of IT (Information Technology). A research carried out recently have identified the importance of effective monitoring, but there are few studies showing how organizations actually work in the field.A qualitative study consisting of the interviews with employees at an IT company was done to see how external monitoring is carried out in practice, in a specific company and how it would help the company to develop. The company we visited did not work with special procedures of any kind regarding external monitoring but still knew about the term and its meaning.The conclusion account for detected patterns as well as difficulties, including the definition of external monitoring which differs a lot between individuals. This essay is a qualitative study concerned with questions about disability. I set out from a definition of disability which highlights non-disabled peoples´ participation in making a disabled person ?the Other?. My aim is to contribute to an understanding of the experiences of disabled people as well as problemize the way that normality and disability is socially constructed. The empirical material of the essay consists of qualitative interviews with disabled men and women and the essay is written with a critical perspective.

The term ?social competence? is widely used by organizations in job advertisements, despite the problems of making a unified definition of it. The purpose of this study is to investigate which features the organizations require, why organizations require them and how the assessment is implemented for recruitment. To answer the purpose of this study, eight qualitative interviews conducted with recruiters from four different staffing agencies. Further a literature study was performed to define the concept of ?social competence? and its meaning, in order to later connect this to the result.

Problem definition: By what marketing communications do consumers want companies in the jewelry industry to communicate its potential CSR activities?Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate in what kinds of marketing communications consumers want the jewelry industry to communicate its potential CSR work.Method: The study has used a quantitative approach to data collection, focused on a survey to answer the purpose of the study and the problem definitions.Conclusion: The study found that the respondents want a clearer communication of CSR work in the industry and that the most suitable communication channels according to respondents differ depending on gender. The female respondents think that the most appropriate channels are product promotions and direct marketing. In contrast, the male respondents think that the channels social media, newspaper and television advertising as well as web sites are more suitable..

Syftet för denna studie har varit att ta reda på hur några lärare i årskurs tre resonerar om och säger sig anpassa undervisningen för elever med särskilda matematiska förmågor. Under tidigare forskning tas Blooms taxonomi och Krutetskiis definition på elever med särskilda matematiska förmågor upp. Metoden som valdes för undersökningen var kvalitativa intervjuer som genomfördes med fyra lärare. Resultatet som framkom i undersökningen visar att elever med särskilda matematiska förmågor ofta fick arbeta utan handledning, till förmån för de elever som behövde hjälp att nå upp till målen. Lärarna ville gärna ge mer av sin tid till elever med särskilda matematiska förmågor, men det fanns inte tillräckliga resurser.

Sammanfattning Syftet med studien har varit att undersöka fritidspedagogers och rektorers syn på traditionella könsroller samt hur dessa resonerar kring begrepp kopplade till genus. Vidare är studiens syfte att undersöka hur pedagogerna arbetar med genus, utifrån formuleringarna i läroplanen, i det vardagliga arbetet i fritidshemmet. Studien utgick från en kvalitativ forskningsansats med semi-strukturerade intervjuer som metod. Fyra fritidspedagoger och två rektorer intervjuades i studien. I resultatet kan man utläsa spridda kunskaper kring genus hos informanterna.

Bakgrund: Sjuksköterskan är skyldig att arbeta för patientdelaktighet enligt lagar och författningar. Begreppet patientdelaktighet tolkas olika och en klar definition saknas vilket medför svårigheter att implementera och utvärdera patientdelaktighet. Syfte: Att genom en litteraturöversikt belysa vad patientdelaktighet innebär för patienter och sjuksköterskor. Metod: Litteraturöversikten, som endast inkluderar kvalitativa studier, är inspirerad av Goodmans sju steg för litteratursökning och sammanställning av evidensbaserad forskning inom hälso- och sjukvård. Litteratursökningen utfördes i databaserna PubMed, CINAHL och PsycINFO. Totalt kvalitetsgranskades 19 artiklar, varav 10 inkluderades. Resultat: Fyra grundläggande teman utifrån patient- och sjuksköterskeperspektivet identifierades utgöra patientdelaktighet: informera, kommunicera, lära känna varandra samt etablera en relation. Objective: In recent years there has been an increasing interest within the clinical (medical) science in measuring people?s health. When estimating quality of life, present practise is to use the EQ-5D questionnaire and an index which weighs the different questions. The question is what happens if the individuals estimate there own health, would it differ from the public preferences? The aim is to make a new prediction model based on the opinion of patients and compare it to the present model based on public preferences.Method: A sample of 362 patients with unstable coronary artery disease from the Frisc II trial, valued their quality of life in the acute phase and after 3, 6 and 12 months.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att närma sig frågan om coachens roll och få en klarhet i vad en coach är utifrån yrkesutövarens egna föreställningar och upplevelser. Centralt för uppsatsen blir sålunda rollen som coach och därför närmar jag mig området utifrån ett rollteoretiskt perspektiv. Uppsatsens bidrag är att till skillnad från tidigare forskning närma sig yrket utifrån utövarnas upplevelser av sin roll och att analysera likheter och olikheter i uppfattningarna hos de som praktiserar yrket, detta med grund i att det inte finns en enad definition av rollen coach.  Urvalet coacher som har intervjuats har en gemensam arbetsplats men skiljer sig åt vad gäller kompetenser; tanken är här att rollen är densamma eftersom den utförs inom samma ramar, men hur rollen upplevs kan fortfarande skilja sig åt beroende på hur rollen tolkas av utövarna. Min hypotes är att oklarheter kring coachning kan tänkas skapa motstridiga förväntningar och rollkonflikter för de som arbetar som coacher..

Uppsala universitet The aim of this master?s thesis is to investigate, through text analysis, the role of copyright in development, with particular interest of how the concepts knowledge and access to knowledge are used in Access to Knowledge Draft Treaty and WIPO Development Agenda. The definition of the concept knowledge, as it is used in copyright, is based in a Western historical and philosophical context and therefore excludes knowledge created in another type of society. The consequences of this exclusion have effects on development. Further it is stated that knowledge according to the global copyright scheme will be reduced to a commodity, which will have consequences not only in societies in the global South.

The essay is an effort to examine and define three examples of liminal dance performances through an aesthetic, hermeneutic and semiotic analysis. The examples are three dance or liminal performances, made by three different choreographers and performed at ?Moderna Dansteatern? and ?Dansens Hus? in Stockholm during September and October 2005. In the effort to determine the liminal and cross-over in the performances, the analysis focus on aspects such as: the character of the work, choreography, the use of scenery, stage light, requisites, conception of place and interior room, the use of costume and mask, the use of different media as text, pictures, film, and music or not using any these, and the interaction with the audience. The analysis depends on a historical background and the use of literature in the subject.
