AbstractThe purpose of this study is to deepen my knowledge in how teachers can teach pupils with reading and writing disabilities, and also find out how a co-operation with remedial teachers can look like.The study is based on qualitative interviews with two teachers and two remedialteachers.The study shows that the two teachers´ co-operation with the remedial teacher appeared to bedifferent. The teacher who had the longest work experience was the one of the two that had a co-operation with the remedial teacher, the other teacher who graduated in 2007 did not have any co operation at all with the remedial teacher.The study also showed that the teachers and the remedial teachers in the study had different opinions about what method to use for pupils with reading and writing disabilities, and that the LTG method was the one most frequently used .All the participants in the study agreed that reading and writing disabilities is a large area, andthat there is a large variety in difficulties among the students . Some of the difficulties the participants had experienced were problems with Decoding, pupils that had problems with learning the letters..

Research in the field of gaming and the gaming culture shows that the culture is characterized by sexism and hypermasculinity, however a majority of this research is conducted in an Anglo-Saxon context. Therefore the aim of this study was to elucidate the Swedish gaming discourse in relation to gender, gendered norms and stereotypes. We also sought to examine the relationship between the editorial content and the blog comments. The study was based on a critical discourse analysis with a gender perspective, applied to five Swedish gaming blogs. By implementing power theory and encoding/Decoding theory, we have concluded that there is a discursive struggle, where one part of the gaming culture is characterized by male dominance, while the other part of the discourse is showing signs of resistance to this hypermasculinity.

The purpose of this thesis was to examine the relationship between feelings and visualizations of climate change. A case study was done on visualizations of climate change from a web page concerning climate change published by the Swedish newspaper Expressen and from the American photographer Gary Braasch?s web page ?World view of global warming?. The thesis is based on the article ?Emotional anchoring and objectification in the media reporting on climate change? by Birgitta Höijer.

 AbstractMy curiosity of students' use of images for reading led me to seek knowledge of the students view on the text illustrations in the literature and through interviews. This study is about how pupils in the school year 2 experience reading, especially with images. The purpose is to investigate the significance of illustrations in reading for students in school year 2. I also want to find out how students see themselves as readers and how the survey material believes that the students comprehend reading. Eight children, both girls and boys have participated in the interview.

In this study, six teachers have been interviewed about their vision and teaching of reading comprehension, both for pupils who has cleared the reading code and those who have not. The aim is to illustrate if teachers in middle school spend time to exercise reading comprehension, or if this is left to the Swedish teachers. Thus only according to the subject Swedish, the students are entitled to be given the opportunity to develop reading strategies.The interviews are semi-structured based on qualitative research. The informants are three teachers of Swedish and three teachers of other subjects. Two different interview guides were used containing three questions.

Teori: Medieretorik, encoding/Decoding, budskapsstrategier, diskursteori, diskursens makt Metod: Kritiskt granskande analyser i form av kritisk diskursanalys och kritisk retorikanalys. Resultat: Aftonbladet använder sig utav medvetna eller omedvetna strategier och retoriska begrepp för att sända ut ett visst budskap. Makten att kunna försöka påverka kan, enligt Foucaults teori, komma ifrån staten i första hand. Därför är användningen utav strategier och retoriska begrepp nödvändig för att bibehålla makten att kunna försöka påverka och övertyga läsarna..

This study, based on the socio-cultural theory of the book as a mediating tool, examines how four teachers say they work with the reader ABC-klubben. This is done with a focus on how they reason about choosing the level of readers for the pupils and about what compensation, if any, they make for pupils who read the simpler book and therefore miss the more difficult words and expressions. The result shows that all the teachers say that they take the pupils? motivation for and pleasure in reading as an important ground for the decision as to which reader a pupil should use, and that this decision is taken with a focus on the individual. When it comes to compensation for the pupils who read the simpler book, the teachers do not describe consistently focused work on this, but they describe a similar way of working whereby they nevertheless acquaint these pupils with the more difficult book and the harder words and expressions.

The main purpose of this study is to get an increased knowledge of the content on the Swedish website lektion.se. The study wants to find out if the content can relate to the syllabus for Swedish and the sociocultural view of learning. The questions it aims to answer are how the content of lessons in Swedish in grade 1-5 is related to the syllabus for Swedish and the sociocultural view of learning. This has been a study of text from lessons taken from the website. The study has been made with support from qualitative and quantitative analysis of text.

The aim of the present study was to examine students' text comprehension in grades 4 and 6. Participants were 61 students without documented or suspected reading and writing difficulties, in grades 4 and 6. The focus was on texts designed by Bishop and Adams (1992), containing two types of questions: literal and inference questions, and three different ways of presenting the text; listening, silent reading and silent reading with the text available when responding to the questions. The texts have been previously used in research and as a tool for clinical, qualitative estimate of reading comprehension in speech and language pathologists? assessments.

Med ett antal enkätfrågor som besvarades av 43 respondenter. För att nå ut till fansen annonserade vi efter respondenter via internetforumet Tumblr.Resultat/slutsatser: Av våra respondenter gjorde majoriteten en förhandlande läsning av TV-serien.

Jag ville undersöka förhållandet mellan en fotografs specifika intentioner gällande manipulering av bildspråkets aspekter och personers tolkningar av dessa aspekter i fotografiska bilder. Jag lät fem personer enskilt tolka åtta manipulerade bilder. Aspekterna i bilderna är kopplade till teorier som berättar vad de specifika manipuleringarna innebär. Jag utgick från Encoding/Decoding-modellen av Stuart Hall som tittar på hur mottagare tolkar ideologiska meningar. Den lät mig se att samtliga av de intervjuade tolkade bilderna på sitt egna vis och inte i den riktning jag ville de skulle tolka dem.

The study includes the Swedish newspaper DagensNyheter?s transition from printed media to digital media adapted to an Ipad.

Dyslexi innebär bestående ordavkodningssvårigheter som anses vara orsakade av nedsättning i fonologiska färdigheter. Till följd av dessa svårigheter har individer med dyslexi ett annorlunda ögonrörelsemönster vid läsning. Individer med dyslexi kan många gånger övervinna sina svårigheter och lyckas i den akademiska världen.Studiens övergipande syfte var att genom en multipel fallstudie undersöka ordavkodning och ögonrörelser hos fem universitetsstudenter med dyslexi. Ögonrörelserna mättes med en dator specialiserad för detta ändamål. En kontrollgrupp av normalläsare (n=20) fördes samman för jämförelse.I föreliggande studie var användning av ordavkodningstest och mätning av ögonrörelser den metodologiska inriktningen.Resultaten visar att alla de fem studenterna med dyslexi har nedsatt ordavkodning och till stor del ett annorlunda ögonrörelsemönster som varierade något dem emellan.
