This thesis is about School libraries and the honour "School library of the year". I have examined the questions - Whats to say about school libraries in the curriculum and the library law? - Who administer the honour "School library of the year" and whats demanded to get it? - What have made the school libraries I have examined to school libraries of the year"? As theory I have used the Taxonomies of the School Library Media Program by David V. Loertscher. I have given a background to and defined the school library as a function, a room and in the teaching among others.

I denna uppsats analyseras de två tidningarna Glamour och King Magazine för att se till hurgenusrepresentationen syns på dess omslag och om det finns några eventuella likheter ochskillnader mellan en tidning riktad till kvinnor (Glamour) och en tidning riktad till män(King).Syftet med analysen är att se till de olika budskapen för genusrepresentation samtidigt somsyftet är att undersöka de olika stereotyper som finns kring män och kvinnor i dagenssamhälle och jämföra dessa mot omslagen för tidningarna.Studien innehåller teorier från bland annat R.W Connell och hans föreställningar kring blandannat den hegemoniska maskuliniteten, men också övriga teorier kring genusrepresentationfrån personer som bland annat Gunilla Jarlbro, Eva-Lena Hedvall och David Gauntlett.Studien bygger i sin analys på en retorisk modell med fokus på omslagens kompositionmellan bland annat text och bild.Resultatet visar på en stereotypifiering av män och kvinnor för tidningsomslagen, där kvinnorförefaller som underordnade i sin representation medan männen besitter stor makt vilket visarsig i form av en jämförelse. Detta överensstämmer med teorierna kring de olika ideal somförekommer kring män och kvinnor..

Syftet med följande arbete är att undersöka varför flickor respektive pojkar väljer Barn- och fritidsprogrammet. Där jämförs svaren för att se om det finns någon skillnad mellan de båda könen.

With an increased empowerment of the users, and a dependence on outside critics, one wonders what kind of role the librarians have in a context where qualitative literature is discussed. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between librarians private and professional views on qualitative fiction, in order to be able to discuss their role as quality intermediaries in a user oriented context.The method used, is the qualitative, semistructured interview. This author interviewed seven librarians from three different libraries in Sweden. The theoretical emphasis partly relies on the ten words of qualitative value that Inger Elam and Bengt Brülde discusses in their respective texts, partly on David Garvins quality assessment theory, which defines several quality categories divided between an absolute and a relative quality view.Through the comparison between the private and the professional quality view, examined with the two theoretical approaches, the analysis of the interview material shows that there lies a complexity in the librarians professional role. On the one hand, they are dependent of both the users and the critics judgements about the qualitative aspect in the work with purchasing new literature to the library.

The aim of this paper is to examine whether the theory of cosmopolitan democracy provides a satisfactory solution to the boundary problem in democratic theory. I argue that David Held's version of cosmopolitan democracy rests on two incompatibleprinciples: the all-affected principle and the all-inclusive principle. However, the theory does not need to presuppose both these principles; it requires only one of them.Furthermore, I try to show that both of these principles fail to provide an adequate solution to the boundary problem. The all-inclusive principle suggests that all citizens of the world should be included in a global democratic unit. I argue that such an ideal is not desirable since it conflicts with the principle of subsidiarity and withdraws from regional political communities their sovereignty.

The purpose of this master?s thesis is to evaluate anew method for load-shedding, the voltage controlled underfrequency load-sheddingdeveloped by ABB. This report presents a comparison between conventionalunderfrequency load-shedding and this new method for load-shedding.

The purpose of this master thesis is to examine the opinion about school libraries among principals at the independent schools in the municipality of Lund. In order to fulfil my purpose I used a qualitative method with an introductory questionnaire, which gave background material to the interviews. All seven principals answered the questionnaire and five of them agreed to participate in an interview. Another two interviews were made with two informants, this material was included in the background material. As theoretical framework I have used literature about the school library development, the role of the principal for development and David V.

Syftet med denna uppsats är att identifiera hur diskursen om gentrifiering framställs i tidningsmedier, där Södermalm i Stockholm figurerar som ett idealtypiskt exempel på en plats som anses ha gentrifierats. Studien har utförts genom tillämpandet av kritisk diskursanalys via Faircloughs riktlinjer, samt ett teoretiskt ramverk bestående av sociologiska teorier angående urbanitet och social stigmatisering. Här tillämpas Georg Simmels och Pierre Bourdieus teorier som stadsliv, habitus och kulturellt kapital, Norbert Elias syn på etablerade och outsiders samt David Harveys formulering om rätten till staden. Analysen består av tio tidningsartiklar publicerade i tidningarna Aftonbladet, Expressen, Dagens nyheter, Metro, Mitt i Södermalm och Svenska Dagbladet. Resultatet indikerar att gentrifiering först och främst anses som en form av klassrelaterad urbaniseringsprocess, som tar form i utförsäljning av hyresbostäder, skapandet av en ny medelklass, och populärkulturella trender.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to examine and present the programmes and activities of school library centres in order to see what functions (purposes) they can fulfil in a municipality and also if and how they can contribute to school library development. In order to fulfil my purpose I have made qualitative interviews with five librarians from school library centres. The theoretical framework is primarily based on David Loertscher?s.

Detta examensarbete på magisternivå genomfördes med MaserFrakt som uppdragsgivare. Målet var att skapa en möjlighet till att ersätta dagens pappersavi med ett SMS. Detta har vi uppnått genom att utveckla en webbaserad prototyp som kan ersätta utskriften och utskicket av avin genom att skicka ut ett fördefinierat SMS. Att pappersavin ersätts av ett SMS tjänar både MaserFrakt och deras kunder på eftersom det leder till snabbare leverans för kunderna och dessutom minskar MaserFrakt sitt godslager och sänker sina utskickskostnader då ett SMS är billigare att skicka än ett brev.Vi har även undersökt möjligheterna till en ännu tidigare avisering där SMS:et skulle gå ut redan innan godset fysiskt inkommer till MaserFrakt. Detta kom vi fram till skulle kunna vara fullt genomförbart även om man skulle vara tvungen att genomföra ett antal förändringar, till exempel skulle relationen med samarbetetspartnern DFDS behöva förstärkas så att MaserFrakt får en bättre tillgång till deras system.Vårt tillvägagångssätt har för den teoretiska delen av arbetet byggt på kvalitativa intervjuer och inläsning av olika befintliga teorier inom mobilitet, IT-tjänster, systemarkitektur samt analys av teorierna.

The study aims to describe and analyze the image of Mary Magdalene as expressed in the French artwork from 1400 and 1600s that this study deals with. The study also examines the historical context in order to find explanations for why the images of Mary Magdalene have changed. In the study Erwin Panofsky?s iconographic method is used to analyze the artworks and finding their underlying meaning. Delimitations are made that only works of art made by French artists from the 1400 and 1600s are analyzed and delimitations are also made that Mary Magdalene will act on her own in the works of art.

The aim of this master?s thesis is to study librarians? views on children and young people as Internet users in Swedish libraries. It examines what types of problems and possibilities the librarians see with children?s and young people?s use of the Internet, how these problems might be solved, and what they think about regulations and filters. Qualitative interviews were conducted with nine librarians, and their statements were analysed with David Buckingham?s After the death of childhood as a theoretical foundation.
