Digitizing the Parthenon using 3D Scanning : Managing Huge Datasets
Digitizing objects and environments from real world has become an important part of creating realistic computer graphics. Through the use of structured lighting and laser time-of-flight measurements the capturing of geometric models is now a common process. The result are visualizations where viewers gain new possibilities for both visual and intellectual experiences. This thesis presents the reconstruction of the Parthenon temple and its environment in Athens, Greece by using a 3D laser-scanning technique. In order to reconstruct a realistic model using 3D scanning techniques there are various phases in which the acquired datasets have to be processed.

Pipeline-verktyg och Integrering av grafiskt användargränssnitt i Nebula 3
Det här arbetet har vidareutvecklat spelmotorn Nebula 3 genom att implementera ett sätt att inkludera grafiska användargränssnitt i spel skapade med motorn, samt en nästan färdig ny pipeline för att skapa animerade karaktärer för motorn. Det grafiska användargränssnittet implementerades med ett tredjepartsbibliotek kallat CEGUI. Den nya pipelinen går ut på att man exporterar en FBX-fil med all grafisk data som sedan läses in och konverteras till Nebula 3s format. Inläsningen sker med hjälp av Autodesks FBX SDK. Filerna som Nebula 3 behöver är en fil med animationsinformation, en fil med skin-information samt en fil som knyter ihop dessa.

Skapande av animationer för interaktiv spelmedia genom motion capture
In this thesis I will propose and test a pipeline for creating in-game animations using motion capture technology, with the aim to export to a 3D game engine, such as UDK or similar. Even though there are already established pipelines for creating in-game animations in the game industry, they are not of public knowledge and dissemination of information is hindered by the severe NDA (non-disclosure agreements) imposed on the studios and artists. I will therefore use my experience with game production and as a student, to research and propose an optimal pipeline for developing in-game animation that may be used by other students, researchers and independent game developers. The methodology used to test the pipeline will be a case study based on the student project Synergy, which I am developing with other third year students also attending the Game design Education at Gotland University..

Denna rapport undersöker hur en grafiker kan förstå, analysera och skapa nyagrafikstilar. Hur grafikstilar kan påverka produktionen, samt hur man kanstandardisera en grafik pipeline för att producera liknande material. En analys av ett par populära grafikstilar inom dataspelsgrafik utfördes för att hitta hur dessa stilar kom till och att jämföra likheter och fördelar emellan de olika stilarna. Ett experiment utfördes för att hitta moment att förbättra i en grafisk pipeline.Resultat pekar på att olika grafikstilar har en påverkan på utvecklingstid och kostnader, samt mottagande beroende på kultur och målgrupp. Ett extra fokus på planering av grafikstil och dess pipeline i produktionen rekommenderas, för att både underlätta för grafikerns arbete och att dra ner på utvecklingskostnaderna..

Detta arbete handlar om processen (pipeline) för att skapa ett troll i 3D till filmat material med målet att arbeta så tidseffektivt som möjligt utan att försämra kvaliteten. Direktsamplande digital transciever
Master thesis work at ITN (Department of Science and Technology) in the areas of A/D-construction and RF-circuit design. Major goal of project were to research suitable possibilities for implementations of direct conversion in transceivers operating in the 160MHz band, theoretic study followed by development of components in the construction environment Cadence. Suitable A/D- converter and other important parts were selected at the end of the theoretic study. Subsampling technique was applied to make A/D sample requirements more realistic to achieve. Besides lowering requirements on A/D-converter it allows a more simple construction, which saves more components than subsampling adds.

Tutor: Susan Marton. ?Policy networks and Nord Stream.?The purpose of this paper is to examine how the government and interest groups have been working together to commonly prevent the building of a gas pipeline in the Baltic Sea. To do this, a comprehensive question how does the government and the involved interest groups work together in policy networks? has been broken down to three more specific questions: (1) Can the cooperation between the government and the interest groups be placed within the frame of a issue network or a policy community? (2) Has the cooperation between the government and the interest groups contributed to new tools for the government to prevent the gas pipeline? (3) If the answer is yes to the second question then, which are these new tools?My examination is a case study of the policy network that exists around the Swedish actors in the case of the Baltic Sea gas pipeline.

The purpose of my one year master?s thesis is to add a documentation of a data processing-process of photo- graphs to the administration of archives. The thesis is written from an archival science perspective which is to be seen in my choice of literature, method and questions at issue. To be able to form a documentation of a data processing-process I studied DiBiS, a company specialized in digitalizing old photographs and publish them on a online database. I also added a chapter where I studied how archival institutions used to handle their old photo- graphs in a traditional manner so the reader of this thesis will be able to understand and see the differences be- tween traditional and modern photograph management.

Volvo Human Monitoring (VHM) is an ongoing project at Volvo Cars where they measure, amongst other parameters, inhalation and exhalation through a device called Respiratory Inductance Plethysmograph (RIP), on drivers. RIP measures changes in the cross-sectional area of the chest and abdomen. When the driver is in motion, such as when she is turning the vehicle, the cross-sectional area changes and noise in the RIP signal may arise.The noise results in a large number of manual adjustments in the analysis of the RIP signal, which is very time consuming and the validity of the device for measuring inhalation and exhalation is questioned.The purpose of this study was to improve the efficiency of the analysis of the RIP signal. The goal was to create a new data processing tool in Matlab that automatically detects inhalation and exhalation from a RIP signal with higher validity compared to the previous data processing tool.In this study, nine tests were performed on drivers while they were driving in different scenarios such as highway, country road and in city traffic. Inhalation and exhalation was measured using a RIP, a pneumotachograph with a tightly sealed facemask and a thermocouple placed between the nose and mouth, which was used as reference to the RIP.The result of this study was a data processing tool that automatically detects inhalation and exhalation with higher validity compared to the previous data processing tool.
