The purpose with this essay was to examine how to work with literary history in school, and whether and how to work with regional literature history. To fulfill the purpose of this paper three high school teacher in Swedish were interviewed.The survey shows that respondents working in various ways with the history of literature, either in the eras, themes or projects. The perception of what literature and the authors to be affected varies between respondents, particularly the perception of the work about authors from Värmland.

This Master Thesis aims to study and discuss the occurence of three concepts in some influential cultural policy documents which includes the UNESCO public library manifesto, the Swedish libraries act, the Swedish cultural policy objectives, and a study from the mid nineties which deals with the cultural policy. The questions asked are: -Do the documents mention democracy? In what way? -Do the documents mention the public sphere? In what way? -Do the documents mention information? In what way? -How can we understand the content of the documents through relevant theories about democracy, the public sphere and information? Theories about the information society are used, as well as theories from Jürgen Habermas, Herbert Schiller and Robert Dahl. The way of method is document studies and abduktion, with influences from hermeneutic theory. The analysis deals with the documents through these concepts: democracy, the public sphere and information and puts forward the content, or lack of content, about democracy in the analysed material.

SAMMANDRAGUnder min pågående lärarutbildning i samhällskunskap har området demokrati kommit att fånga mitt intresse och eftersom det är gymnasielärare jag skall bli så intresserar jag mig självklart för gymnasieelevers uppfattningar av demokrati. Detta är vad detta examensarbete kommer att beröra. Hur uppfattar våra gymnasieelever demokratibegreppet och finns det någon skillnad mellan hur tjejer och killar ser på demokrati?Robert Dahl lyfter fram några kriterier som han menar borde vara uppfyllda för att demokrati skall råda men hur väl stämmer dessa och gymnasieelevers uppfattningar av demokrati överens?Jag har gjort min undersökning i två klasser på en gymnasieskola, en med tjejer och en med killar. Metoden jag använt för min undersökning är att jag delat ut en öppen fråga till eleverna att besvara.Jag menar att merparten av eleverna finner det viktigast att få vara med att påverka/bestämma och att få vara med att rösta.

This essay concerns the issue of democracy and judicial review. The main focus is on the justification of both a positive and a negative attitude towards judicial review, and the values these justifications are based on. The analysis is made by textual analysis of four authors with different opinions of the subject matter: Robert Dahl and Jeremy Waldron who has a negative attitude towards judicial review, and Erwin Chemerinsky and Ronald Dworkin who are positive about it. In the analysis an analytic frame is used which consists of different dimensions and aspects of the problem of democracy and judicial review. The study shows that there are important differences in democratic values between a positive and a negative justification of judicial review.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att beskriva och analysera om Kosovo har de ekonomiska och sociala förutsättningrna för att skapa en grogrund för ett demokratiskt styre. Som grund för uppsatsens teoretiska del ligger demokratiteoretikerna Robert D. Putnam och Robert A. Dahl tankar kring vad som krävs för att kunna skapa en väl fungerande demokrati. Maktstrukturen i Kosovo har varierat över tiden.

To answer that, I have done a case study about how Karlstad municipal administers citizens? proposals. The research assignment is: Does Karlstad municipal have adequate institutional conditions to make the best use of the citizens? proposals? The perspective is a democracy perspective and the theory is institutional theory and policy process theory.A selection of citizens? proposals that have arrived to Karlstad municipal between 2008 and 2010 have been studied in detail to analyze how the proposals have been administered and if it matters how the proposals are phrased.

Political disenchantment and detachment is proven to be growing in well established democracies. This development brings along concerning behavior regarding general political participation. Fewer citizens participate in elections, parties are losing members, and the trust in politicians is steadily decreasing. IDEA (Institute for Democracy and Electoral Assistance) has been registering voter turnout worldwide for the last 60 years and their publications show a decline in voter participation since the 1980s.During the same period of time another development has caught attention, namely the fast progress of the medium Internet. The new generation of Internet functions is called Web 2.0 and allows users not only to create content, but also to interact with each other.This dissertation aims to explore the possibilities emerging when integrating Web 2.0 in political processes.

Partiets namn var fram till 1990 Vänsterpartiet kommunisterna (VPK). Denna bakgrund har påverkat andra partiers syn på arenan runt och inom Vänsterpartiet vilket innebär att deras demokratisyn har ifrågasatts. När frågan om demokrati kommer på tal, så skapades ett intresse hos oss som uppsatsskribenter hur idéer om demokrati inom Vänsterpartiet kan beskrivas. Då partiet genom tiderna hävdat att de är goda demokrater, men med ett fördjupat innehåll. Denna uppsats vetenskapliga bidrag är att svara på frågan om Vänsterpartiet kan tillskrivas en innehållslig demokratiuppfattning år 2014, denna fråga är extra intressant då en innehållslig demokratisk agenda ibland likställs med en odemokratisk agenda.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka bakomliggande faktorer som sätter käppar i hjulen för demokratiseringsprocessen i Azerbaijan. Med hjälp av rapporter från olika internationella organisationer, såsom Freedom House ser jag landets demokratiska utveckling och fungerande. Jag använt mig av den teoribekräftande fallstudien där jag applicerar demokratiseringsteorin på fallet i Azerbaijan. Freedom House rapport ? Nations in Transit? i Azerbaijan 2011 kan man förknipa med Robert Dahls polyarki begrepp. Polyarkibegreppet bygger på två grundelement: medverkan och tävlan eller konkurrens.

Ska Sveriges polismyndigheter fortsättningsvis ges befogenhet att ha egna lokala insatsstyrkor? Lars Engström, länspolismästare i Örebro län, har fått i uppdrag av Rikspolisstyrelsen att utreda detta. Åsikterna och lösningsförslagen på denna frågeställning är många och skiftande. Engström vill ge Rikspolisstyrelsen en starkare samordnande roll och lägga ner de lokala insatsstyrkorna. Syftet med vår undersökning var att studera barns läsvanor, göra ett försök till att stimulera elevers läsning, samt se om det finns skillnader och likheter vad gäller läsvana mellan den svenska och den amerikanska skolklassen och i så fall vilka. Vi har arbetat med att läsa en skönlitterär bok med titeln Matilda som är skriven av Roald Dahl. Eleverna har fått läsa hela boken på flera olika sätt, högläsning i läsgrupper, enskild tyst läsning och högläsning av lärare i klassrummet. Utifrån boken har vi arbetat med olika uppgifter såsom skrivövningar, uppgifter av friare art samt en uppgift relaterad till bildämnet. Undersökningen genomfördes i två femteklasser varav en svensk klass i Piteå kommun och en amerikansk klass i Thousand Oaks, Los Angeles.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att belysa synen på utbildningen ur ett studentperspektiv (mitt). Jag har granskat utbildningen för att komma fram till förslag till förbättringar. Genom detta vill jag ge mitt bidrag till frågan om hur polisutbildningen i Umeå. Jag har sammanställt personliga åsikter och försökt fånga upp tankar bland studenterna som upprepade gånger tas upp som problem, irritationsmoment och så vidare. Några resultat och slutsatser i ordens bemärkelser har jag inte kommit fram till eftersom uppsatsen är uppbyggd på personliga åsikter och allmänna tankar.

The aim of this thesis is to examine the politics and activities of the Social Democratic students´ association Spartakus. Their relationships and political and ideological differences towards the Swedish Social Democratic Party (SAP) and the remaining parts of the Social Democratic youth organisation (SSU) in Linköping during 1969-1971 are examined. To fulfil this aim I have studied relevant literature and interviewed people who were active in Spartakus, as well as people from SSU and SAP in the municipal during the period. I have also studied written material produced by the students´ association itself during the period. The theoretical frame of reference consists of Dahl´s theory on a democratic political order, and party theories like the mass party theory of Duverger, theories from Sjöblom, Panebianco, Lipset and Tingsten and also Gidlund&Möller´s theory about different kinds of party members.
