Arbetet kretsar kring tre huvudkategorier. Hållbarhet, designprocess och kriminalvård. Första delen innehåller informationssökning för att skapa en stabil grund till arbetet. Efterhand övertar ett parallellt arbete med de tre huvudkategorierna som till sist utmynnar i en produktionsfas där tillverkning på Industritextil Job sker för att ta fram en skiljevägg i skala 1:1. Stor vikt läggs vid att sätta sig in i vilka behov som bör lösas på anstalten.

This essay is an ideographic study over the capacity of high school students to use the Internet with source criticism, and their attitudes towards this media. It?s a qualitative study whose main purpose is to seek out how the students reflect upon the problems facing them when searching facts and information over the internet.The focus group is six 18 year old high school students, who are studying in a normal sized town in the middle of Sweden, and are about to finish their studies in the program for social sciences. The study was made through interviews, one on one with the students,The results of the analysis have shown that even if students not necessarily use a pre meditated method when searching for information over the internet, they do have a basic understanding of the matter, especially concerning the nature of the source, who published it and why. Not all students made any thorough comparison with other, already established media, such as TV or books, but the analysis made it clear that they more or less deliberately saw the established media as more trustworthy in general.

Every year new premises are built in Sweden, and even if they are made as energy efficient as possible, this will not reduce the energy demands, but the rate of the increase of the energy use will be reduced. One type of facility in Sweden that is a major energy user is public baths, and this makes public baths an interesting facility to study more closely. There are around 500 public baths in Sweden and about 75 % of those can be seen as older baths with large need of renovation, and they all require a high level of energy efficiency measures. To show how the energy demand increase or decrease depending on the changes chosen to be made, the simulation application IDA Indoor Climate and Energy was used. Simulations were made and compared for several cases, with two extreme cases as starting points.

Denna uppsats avser att undersöka om systemutvecklingsmetoderna RUP och Prototyping kan komplettera och kombineras med varandra. Vidare avser uppsatsen att undersöka hur de fungerar i praktiken men också hur UML och Prototyping kan visualisera och säkra kravlistan för processtyrning inom läkemedelsindustrin.Fallstudien som denna uppsats innehåller är gjord på ett läkemedelsföretag i Sverige. Vid tillverkning av läkemedel användes olika former av pappersbaserad dokumentation som signeras manuellt. Företaget har idag bland annat ingen kontroll över om signeringen utförs under eller efter tillverkningen och enligt GMP strider detta mot de regler och lagar som styr läkemedelstillverkningen. För att hitta de krav användarna ställer på ett kontrollstyrningssystem har både observationer och intervjuer utförts på plats..

Arbetet bygger på den ställda problemformuleringen att minska lyft inom begravningsbranschen. Utifrån en förundersökning, kravspecifikation, funktionsanalys och studiebesök är syftet att ta fram ett koncept till en ny produkt som skall förändra handhavandet inom begravningsbranschen.  Genom dessa grunder skapades ett antal koncept som utvärderades i en Pughs matris och diskuterades grundligt med uppdragsgivarna. Sedan kombinerades två av koncepten till ett nytt som blev sedan grunden till den kommande produkten. Komponenter valdes i största mån ur ett modulsystem som medförde flexibilitet. Montering och tillverkning har utvärderats med hjälp av DFA- och DFM-verktygen vilket ledde till förbättringar för enklare tillverkning och montering. Produkten har bearbetats i SolidWorks där ritningsunderlag och komponentlistor på de färdiga komponenterna har sammanställts.

In this case, higher education, meaning college and university. With this disposition in our society, how does it affect the students? How does this change of society and our universities affect the students of these institutions? In this study we have chosen to examine the choices of students in universities in several Swedish cities.

The purpose of this report is to survey Swedex AB?s production costs and to gather all info into a manageable calculation tool. This was made by time and motion studies, interviews of the personnel. All factors were gathered into an Excel chart.The calculation was made according to an additional-charge-method that was considered to satisfy Swedex AB?s goal.

The company ismainly focusing on decision-making and outsourcing.The aim of this essay is to evaluate decision-making processes andensuring that the right decision is made, with other words, evaluatingthe decision and not the result from the decision. By identifying whatsustainability means for Chalmersfastigheter and in which processesdecisions are made, an evaluation is easily made to see if every decisionis based on the three aspects of sustainability; ecology, economy andsocial. The result from this evaluation will highlight how Chalmersfastigheter prioritize in decisions concerning sustainabledevelopment.This study is based on the ISO 14001 standard and the definition ofsustainable development presented in the Brundtland report.Akademiska Hus is used as an example to present how another companyin the same business has operationalized sustainability.

The degree project at hand investigates how large areas of older forest (80 plus years) suitable for clear cutting there is on the Swedish island of Gotland. Large areas of older forest on Gotland are situated on land with shallow soil depths which are economically uninteresting and often unsuitable for clear cutting forestry. Other forests hold big nature conservation values and should not, or cannot, be used for forestry purposes. The survey is made as a GIS analysis based on the old but carefully made ?Brief forest inventory? (ÖSI) made in the 1980s and early 1990s. A sample from the inventory is combined with studies of orthophotos, satellite photos and other GIS layers that display estimated soil depth and nature conservation values. Partly contrary to common belief, the survey shows that there are still large areas of older forest suitable for clear cutting forestry on the island.

This thesis has been done on a haulage contractor company named GP-Last (AB Gustav Perssons Åkeri) and the purpose with the paper was to analyse their traffic from Malmö to Stockholm and leave suggestions on efforts that GP-Last can use to increase their level of transportation quality. This has been done with two main questions, which problem do they have today and which efforts they need to do to solve their problems? Through a case study with interviews as method to collect data it showed that GP-Last had four main problems.        Not enough information about their freights. The transport planning unit in Malmö doesn?t have the exact delivery address when GP-Last begins to bring in the gods.        There are no clear routes.

This survey was made during the autumn of 2002 and the beginning of 2003, on commission from the National Board of Forestry. The purpose with the survey was to gather experience and knowledge in the organisation about fencing and this was made through interviews. The ambition was also to get knowledge from people outside the organisation that have great experience of forestry and fencing. The interviews were based on questions that have been composed by the author with help from the supervisors. The questions were the same to both the personal from the National Board of Forestry and to the foresters. Interviews were also made with private landowners, gamekeepers, game researcher, the County Administrative Board, the National Road Administration, pole and net retailers and contractors. The target group for this work is the National Board of Forestry to be forwarded to persons interested in forestry with the ambition to spread knowledge about how to prevent damage on the forest by browsing animals. The deer populations are big in the south of Sweden and growing populations have increased the damage on plantations of broadleaves of the most species.

Krav på kortare ledtid och lägre kostnader för att kunna öka produktionstakten gör att bottenramen till turbinerna behöver modifieras. Nuvarande beräkningar ska uppdateras med nya förutsättningar eftersom bottenramen har ändrats en del sedan man tog fram dagens konstruktionslösning på den. Genom att göra en beräkningsmodell av bottenramen till en SGT-600 som den ser ut idag och genomföra beräkningar med de lastfall som den kan tänkas utsättas för har optimeringsförslag och uppdaterade beräkningar tagits fram. Besök hos underleverantör och diskussioner med personal som arbetar med bottenramen har resulterat i statiska och dynamiska beräkningsresultat samt förslag på optimering av bottenramen. Slutsatser som drogs var att bottenramen uppfyller de krav som företaget har på den samt att det är möjligt att få fram en mindre kostsam och snabbare tillverkning genom att göra modifieringar. .

The purpose of this study has been to evaluate whether a Low temperature bio-mass dryer could be integrated with the local district heating system in Malå. The aim is to increase the thermal efficiency of the cogeneration plant in Malå, by lowering the temperature of the cooling medium. Another benefit that comes from this is improved combustion efficiency at the power plant, since drying the fuel causes an Increase of the heating value.Simulations has been made in Excel, and with use of linear regression, to find out if it is profitable. Data for this purpose has been supplied by the power company Skellefteåkraft and furthermore SMHI.The result of the Calculations shows that a very efficient bio-mass dryer is needed, if yield of investments should be made possible. An Investment of 4,27 Mkr, in a dryer, could at a such criterium return 60000 kr/year, if the price of the biomass is 190kr/MWh.

As part of an internship at Ericsson, this report was written to enhance the understanding of how it is to develop a system that is well established at the workplace. To improve an already existing system is not always as easy as many developers may think. In this report the pros and cons of developing an already existing system has been researched and analyzed. Do note that the results are only from one development of a specific system and that comparison of other developments has been made from other reports and not from experiencing it firsthand. It was found that the choices made can have an impact on further developing and it is important to write down what has been done.

The main purpose of this Master thesis is to investigate the journalists' attitude towards Internet as a news medium. The thesis also gives a general synopsis of the changing role of news media as enter the scene of Internet. The major part of this study consists of empirical studies though there is not much research-work made in this area. This case study is based on qualitative interviews of journalists. This method was the most suitable as the aim was to see tendencies and attitudes in a more individual light.
