Having different kinds of literature is an important part of the education in school and schoolbooks, in shape of reading-books, are common in the first year of primary school. The texts pupils encounter in school are important for how they form their identity and thoughts about what is right or wrong and what is natural or unnatural. People of other ethnicity than Swedish, or with another skin colour than white, have often in the past been portrayed negatively in reading-books as if they are of less worth. According to the Curriculum for the Compulsory School System (Lpo94) the school shall act for understanding of all people and every person?s equal value.The study analyses how ethnicity is portrayed in reading-books for pupils in the first year of primary school.

Knuthöjdsmossens naturreservat är beläget i Hällefors, Örebro län och är känd för sina unika gölar, fauna och dess sanddyna. Strax intill Knuthöjdsmossens Naturreservat finns en nerlagd industrideponi som var i bruk i början av 1800 talet fram till 1983 vid namnet avfallsupplaget Piteå. Det avfall som deponerades bestod av restprodukter, industriavfall, byggavfall, grovsopor, järnspår och slipspån. Mellan åren 1994-2009 har Bergslagens kommunalteknik utfört ytvattenprovtagningar i området, de har dock upphört, men det finns ett intresse om att återuppta provtagningarna, därtill syftet med denna uppsats; en förstudie om vilken miljöpåverkan avfallsupplaget Piteå har på området Knuthöjdsmossen. Metallkoncentrationer från ytvattenproverna från åren 1994-2009 analyserades samt så insamlades kompletterande jordprover med en XRF-skanner.

This study aims to examine the regard paid to the use of Assistive Technology (AT) when assessing the knowledge of Year 9 pupils with dyslexia in the subject Swedish. A starting point was to examine the knowledge of a group of teachers in the areas of dyslexia and AT. The issues then developed as to which AT a dyslexic pupil is allowed to use in an assessment situation and how the use of these tools affects the assessment. There was an examination of the guidelines that the teacher group can use as support when assessing the knowledge of dyslexic pupils on the basis of AT. The method used was qualitative semi-structured interviews.

Till min uppsats valde jag att koncentrera mig på två verk, Post Office och Factotum, av författaren Charles Bukowski (1920-1994). Huvudpersonen i båda romanerna kallas Henry Chinaski och är en mycket komplicerad karaktär. För att kunna analysera dennes självdestruktivitet samt syn på kvinnor och arbete anlade jag ett mansforskningsperspektiv, något som jag också utförligt beskriver..

International reading comprehension studies, like PIRLS and PISA, state that the reading comprehension of Swedish students has decreased significantly since 2000. As a consequence, the National Agency of Education has made reading comprehension teaching a prioritised field in terms of further education for teachers. There has also been a change in Lgr 11, the national curriculum for compulsory school, where it is stated that teaching in reading strategies shall be a part of the central content throughout compulsory school. When the pupils reach upper secondary school level, reading comprehension education is no longer a part of the curriculum. Today, students at upper secondary school for individuals with learning disabilities currently share the same curriculum as the ordinary upper secondary school.

The purpose of this essay is to describe and analyze the debate surrounding the construction of the 2011 years curriculum of the Swedish schools` religious studies. The debate is concerning whether or not Christianity should have a unique position in the curriculum against other religions. The method is to analyze the arguments by an argument analysis. The purpose is also to analyze the argumentation to see how secularization and pluralism have influenced the debate and the different standpoints. The essays material consists of debate articles from the four largest news sites on the internet.The most common argument for Christianity?s unique position is that Christianity has had an important role in the development of the Swedish society, culture and literature and is therefore important knowledge for understanding the Swedish society.

I Ur och Skur preschools base their teaching on outdoor activities and all educators are called leaders, disregarding their educational background.The purpose of this study is to find out how the leaders of six I Ur och Skur preschools are working, specifically with the written language, in the outdoors environment. The study discusses the concept of literacy, methods leaders use and the advantages and disadvantages they experience with outdoors education and the thoughts they have about outdoor activities. The basis for this study is the objective pursued in the curriculum: "preschools should strive to ensure that children develop an interest in written language and an understanding of symbols and their communicative functions". Respondents have also been asked what outdoors education means to them on a personal level.To achieve my research results five qualitative interviews, with room for follow-up questions, were conducted. One of the respondents felt that she lacked time but still wanted to participate and doing so by answering questions by email.

The aim of this paper is to elucidate and analyze history teacher's didactic choices in the conflict between unequal educational materials and the requirements of equality in the curriculum of Swedish secondary school. The empirical data consists of interviews with five secondary school history teachers, observations of their lessons as well as analysis of their tests. The starting point was to investigate teachers' didactic work in the role as a bridge between the non-equal historiography presented in textbooks in history and the curriculum?s demands for equality. Three different approaches have been observed in the teachers' didactic work when considering gender perspective into their teaching: that women become extensions in a male-dominated historiography; that another part of the story is presented when a gender perspective is considered; and that the gender perspective is included in history teaching and becomes an integral part of all the content of the subject.Several of the teachers acknowledged that gender equality is less prioritized than the courses core content and related assessment criteria.

The running of a Swedish pre-school is not just about taking care of children but involves incorporating educational activities that follow curriculum guidelines. In addition, time must be allocated for planning, discussion, evaluation and reflection. Many pre-school teachers feel that there is insufficient planning time which is needed to follow the established curriculum guidelines for kindergarten. Due to the rising numbers of children per class, and the obligation to document and evaluate everything, pressure and lack of time has become a significant issue.The purpose of this study is to investigate four pre-school teachers´ views on pedagogical planning and reflection time. Background: The Waldorf school was founded by Rudolf Steiner during the early nineties in Austria. The pedagogy is established in the antrophosofical sight of humanity, which contains focus on three watchwords when it comes to teaching. These are the will, the feeling and the thought. Purpose: The aim of this study is to investigate how teachers in three Waldorf schools are working during to the curriculum and to bring out the differences and the similarities with the municipal school. This essay is focusing on four themes and theories; artistic learning processes, gender, multimedia and environment.Method: In order to investigate this kind of teaching I choose interviewing as a method, specifically semi structured interviews. Four teachers at three different schools in Stockholm county was interviewed.

Sveriges välfärd byggdes en gång av frivilliga organisationer som startade institutioner och verksamheter för att hjälpa de socialt utsatta i samhället. Missbruksvård, skolor, äldreboenden och sjukvård är några av de institutioner som fortfarande lever kvar idag i statlig drift. Det är även ofta inom dessa områden som neddragningarna i den offentliga sektorn återigen kompenseras med hjälp av frivilliga insatser. Syftet med denna uppsats är att undersöka hur det frivilliga sociala arbetet framställs i media åren 1994-2003. Huvudfrågeställningen är; På vilket sätt framställs det frivilliga sociala arbetet i media?Ett genomgående tema i analysen visar hur samtliga artiklar, oavsett om det är frivilligorganisationerna eller andra som är författare, använder sig av både retoriska och genrebetonade knep för att framställa utsagor som sanningar.

The purpose of this work is to see if the students, on two separate high schools, understand what skills you should achieve after completing the course in physical education and health A 100 points. The entire study is based on a student perspective. In order to best answer the purpose, the questionnaire used in the "available groups" in schools. The questions for the work are: To what extent and how students perceive what they should achieve after completing the course in Sport and Health A?, Which is the goal, based on the curriculum in Physical Education, that students feel are important to achieve? and how do a comparison like between these two schools on the basis of what students perceive that they must achieve in Sport and Health A?The result shows that the main goal that finds support in the course objectives is an assertion; Has knowledge of what to eat to maintain or improve health, which over 90% of students had checked in.

Denna uppsats behandlar de undervattenskränkningar som skedde i och omkring Hårsfjärden i oktober 1982. Syftet med uppsatsen har varit att studera förändringen av den offentliga bilden. Författaren har analyserat Hårsfjärden utifrån fyra jämförelsedimensioner. Motiv för kränkningarna, nationalitet, kränkningarnas karaktär och tekniska indikationer och observationer.Ubåtsskyddskommissionen kunde 1983 peka ut Sovjetunionen som den kränkande makten. De sade likväl att motiven bakom kränkningarna var förberedande skeden i en militär operativ planering.

As background for this study stands the debate and discussion in the society around the tablet as a pedagogical tool in preschool. The purpose of this study is to obtain and analyze 69 preschool teachers? opinions about the tablet?s introduction and use in preschool. The study also investigates the preschool teachers? opinions about their mission for multimedia and technology in the preschool curriculum, Lpfö 98, reviderad 2010.

Mycket av bakgrunden i mitt arbete består av teorier kring tjänstemarknadsföring då skolledares profilering av sin skola hamnar inom detta fält. En redogörelse över vad det var som hände när det blev fritt att välja vilken skola man ville 1994 finns med i bakgrunden för att ge en förståelse för varför skolor började marknadsföra sig. Undersökningen består av fyra intervjuer som jag har transkriberat och kategoriserat. Utifrån en hermeneutisk ansats utkristalliseras och diskuteras begreppen intention, orsaker och kvalitet.
