As a result of global competition, companies within the automotive industry are required to improve their production systems to achieve sustainable and competitive production. To attain operational excellence, companies have adopted concepts like lean and World Class Manufacturing (WCM).In order to deliver, companies need to increase the availability and reliability of production equipment. This demands focus on both operational and strategic maintenance, and efficient equipment acquisition and management. The main objective of this thesis is to identify processes and success factors that are necessary for improved maintenance performance. By conducting a case study and by performing a literature review, the following has been studied: 1) how companies within the automotive industry work with maintenance and maintenance strategies, 2) implementation of maintenance strategies, and 3) new acquisition and spare parts management for maintenance. The results show that basic maintenance concepts and related terms are well defined in the literature.
Konsten att kommunicera och motivera ? ur arbetsledarnas perspektiv
Syftet med denna uppsats är att, på Företag X, undersöka arbetsledarnas upplevelse av kommunikationen mellan arbetsledarna och medarbetarna samt att undersöka hur arbetsledarna upplever att medarbetarna motiveras och hur arbetsledarna motiverar sig själva.Faktorer som undersöks mer ingående är arbetsledarnas upplevelse av:hur uppåtriktad kommunikation främjasatt kommunicera impopulära budskapeventuella hinder i kommunikationenickeverbal kommunikationhur feedback fungeraratt skapa mål för motivationövriga sätt att skapa motivationarbetsledarnas sätt att motivera sig självaFrågeställningarna är följande:Hur upplever arbetsledarna kommunikationen mellan arbetsledarna och medarbetarna?Vilka eventuella hinder upplever arbetsledarna för kommunikationen?Hur upplever arbetsledarna att medarbetarna motiveras?Hur motiverar arbetsledarna sig själva?Undersökningen är kvalitativ och intervjuer har använts för att samla in empiri. Sex intervjuer har genomförts med arbetsledare på Företag X.Vårt resultat och analys visar att arbetsledarna beskriver att de har för avsikt att främja uppåtriktad kommunikation för att minska ryktesspridning och ´gnäll´/klagomål. De beskriver att de informerar impopulära budskap på ett genomtänkt sätt genom att informera tydligt i mindre grupper. Arbetsledarna beskriver vissa hinder i kommunikationen så som att de inte utbildats i kommunikation och attityd både deras egen och medarbetarnas.

A substation must be properly protected against lightning and other external effects to the equipment in the station or staff, for that we use relay protection. They should also protect against internal errors which may occur as ground faults. There are different types of protection relays, but most common are overcurrent-, distance-, residual current- and differential protection.The purpose of this thesis was to deepen our knowledge of relay protection and to use the theoretical knowledge we got from the university studies in the work process. In the process we discovered which parameters were the most essential and calculated these for all relay protections on the substation. We also carry out a comparison between two brands of relay protection, ABB and Alstom.During our work we will test and simulate the over-current relays in a program called NEPLAN, the program will also calculate the fault currents.

The majority of all power cuts that affects individuals and communities are caused by earth faults on the power transmission lines at 10kV and 20kV level [1]. If these power cuts could be eliminated, less disturbances and interrupts would lead to large amounts of money savings.Swedish Neutral has developed such a protection system. When an earth fault occurs power is injected into the neutral point of the transformer. The RCC (Residual Current Compensation) protection calculates a compensation current exactly 180 degrees out of phase to the fault current. Doing this, the voltage at the fault location becomes very close to zero, without affecting the power transmission.The protection system can only compensate automatically for the fundamental frequency (50Hz), and manually for the 3rd, 5th, 7th and 9th harmonics.

The City of Gothenburg has an urgent need to upgrade its public transport. The capacity of its light rail transit (LRT) has reached maximum capacity within the inner city limits years ago. The construction of an underground metro will be very expensive and time consuming due to the soft clay beneath the city. The apparent need of developing another type of mass rapid transit (MRT) is urgent. An elevated metro have turned out to be a success in Greater Vancouver, but is it possible for the system to operate well in Gothenburg with its narrow streets and current land use; will its route coexist with the current LRT or will the noise disturb people too much?.

Utvärdering av ett IR-system i en informationssökningsprocess ett holistiskt perspektiv
The research objective of this thesis was to conduct a holistic evaluation of an operational information system. By holistic evaluation we mean that an equal focus was placed on both the system system perspective and its users user perspective, in the actual environment where the system and its users function contextuality. In addition, the methodological objective of the study was to test a new research approach in a real life setting. The participants of the study were twenty newspaper journalists employed at Göteborgs-Posten GP. The information system NewsLink is a manually indexed full-text database containing all articles published in GP since 1994.
När bedömning görs för elevens lärande och inte för läraren : Bedömning för lärande inom matematik
Syftet med studien är att undersöka hur lärare uppfattar bedömning i matematik och hur de tolkar begreppet bedömning för lärande. Vidare undersöks huruvida bedömning för lärande kan användas inom ämnet matematik på gymnasiet och hur detta påverkar elevers lärprocess. Resultatet grundar sig på intervjuer med matematiklärare på gymnasiet, och pekar på att lärare har en diffus uppfattning kring begreppet bedömning för lärande. Vidare visar resultatet att bedömning för lärande används, både medvetet och omedvetet, i olika former inom matematikundervisningen. Framförallt är det feedback och konkretisering av mål som är återkommande och framstående komponenter i förhållande till bedömning för lärande.

All companies wants? to be as profitable as possible. The company in question is one of the leaders in it´s field in Sweden. In order to increase profits as much as possible it is important to identify and eliminate eventual quality defect cost as far as possible.This study was performed in Huddig AB, and the purpose of this study is to try to develop a routine for monitoring the quality defect costs, and to improve communication and create feedback between production and aftermarket.In addition to an extensive literature review on quality defect costs most of the work have been conducted at the company. Own observations and interviews have been done with the staff to get a picture of the current situation and to try to come up with improvement proposals.During the study it was proved that much of the quality defect costs in essence, derived from the production, which is seen as positive because it is the easiest part of the company to improve.

Alla elever i den svenska skolan ska varje termin ha ett utvecklingssamtal där lärare, elev och föräldrar diskuterar elevens utveckling. Den individuella utvecklingsplanen (IUP) ska stödja elevens fortsatta lärande och fr.o.m. juli 2008 infördes krav på skriftliga omdömen i elevens IUP. Bedömningen ska enligt skolverket ha en formativ funktion d.v.s. att beskriva elevens nuvarande kunskaper i förhållande till de kursmål man arbetat mot och förslag på hur elevens fortsatta lärande ska ske.

Presently Sjöfartsverket do their maintenance according to a standard program, which means that every maintenance task will be done when the task limit occurs. This leads to a very long downtime for the aircraft in some occasions and very short downtime in others. The goal with this work is to reach a higher regularity of the aircraft operation. To reach a higher regularity for the operational needs, this work will present a hypothetic better maintenance concept for Swedish Maritime Administration. The concept is based on equalized maintenance structure, which means that every maintenance occasions are meant to take the same time to perform.

This thesis is carried out on behalf of watermixer manufacturer Ostnor AB in Mora.The thesis deals with the area of Article Bound Instructions (ABI) at the company'sassembly department, regarding the layout and management routines involved withthese instructions.In the current situation there are problems with no uniformity in the manner in whichthe ABI is written, then referred to both the civil structure, images and specificityrates in the text.Another problem is that operators do not make use of the ABI that are available inthe current situation, and that there are no clear procedures for who has theresponsibility to write, update and change these ABI.During this work has several people that were identified as key personnel of thethesis held in order to get a handle on how the current situation of the variousobjects of the work looks like, and to examine different desires about the future ofthese should look like from the different subjects perspectives been interviewed.During the work, a number of deficiencies, including that the current program that isused to write the ABI, Lotus Notes, do not possess near the prerequisites for being asimple program to deal with when writing the ABI, which is a condition since wishesare about to put the responsibility for the ABI generation to the departmentsoperators, since their main task is to assemble and do not bother with a program in acomputer.The result of this work has generated new layout and structure of the ABI, designedto be used continuously in the assembly for evaluation, routines regardingresponsibility of the ABI for the Department of Production Engineering (PT),procedures for how the ABI should be written regarding amount of detaileddescriptions in the text and use of pictures.In addition, proposals for further work and improvements has been developed basedon experience during the work and presented at the end of the report..
