Syftet med denna rapport är att utreda hur kultur värdesätts i samhället. Tanken är att strukturera upp den kulturpolitiska debatten och sammanföra olika begrepp och perspektiv i en överskådlig modell. Rapporten fokuserar på de kulturverksamheter som är mål för den svenska kulturpolitiken, nämligen konstarterna, medierna, bildningsarbetet och kulturarven. Till grund för min analys ligger särskilt Anders Frenanders forskning kring den svenska kulturpolitiska historien.När det gäller att värdera kultur finns två dominerande synsätt genom historien. Med ett ?kulturkonservativt? synsätt uttalar man sig om vad som är bra och värdefull kultur i allmängiltig bemärkelse.

Tidigare forskning som studerat om politiska beslut ?verensst?mmer med medborgares vilja har p?visat att politiken b?ttre ?terspeglar h?ginkomsttagares ?sikter ?n medel- och l?ginkomsttagares. N?gra studier har teoretiserat att denna form av oj?mlik politisk representation kan katalyseras av ekonomisk oj?mlikhet. Studierna har d?rf?r testat om ?kad inkomstoj?mlikhet f?rstorar gapet i representation mellan h?g- och l?ginkomsttagare, men har inte producerat n?gra signifikanta resultat.

As for outdoor environments, non-verbal casual encounters in the shape of crossing paths are assumed to lie at the heart of urban social integration.The aim of the thesis is to question this assumption and, as the thesis will show, there is literature supporting this aim. Looking at the works of Gordon Allport, Lewis Coser and some of their followers, I find intercultural contact to require more complex ways of interaction in order to reduce prejudice and to generate tolerance and understanding.

Problemen som teorin om kulturell orientalism sätter fingret på innefattar olika aspekter av representation; hur orientalerna (redan det ett problematiskt begrepp i sig) har gestaltats i konsten. Ett av de centrala problemen är att etnicitet lyfts fram före individualitet: en orien- talisk man är i första hand orientalisk, och bara i andra hand man.

This essay will cover the Swedish electoral system with a focus on the proportional representation andthe process involved from the conversion of votes to seats in the parliament. This process consists ofseveral methods which are created by political decisions as well as mathematical formulas and is notalways perfect in terms of equalization. An increment of six adjustment seats would have made thegeneral election of 2010 more proportioned. Despite this, the Swedish electoral system is wellconstructed and the essay will highlight areas which could be subject for improvement as well asexplaining fundamental concepts of the process..

Poorly maintained forges are a common sight in the province of Gästrikland. Because of their changed appearance, possible move from the origin location and poor items related knowledge they will rarely qualify for the range of funds available through Länsstyrelsen. Therefore this study deals with the problems associated with the forges in southern Gästrikland, i.e. Hedesunda and Österfärnebo parishes.The aim of the study is to increase the items related knowledge of forges and perhaps form the basis for restoration projects in the area. Eleven forges have been examined and the changes they have undergone have been highlighted.A forge was erected on the farm and was used for the households needs such as producing and repairing tools.

The aim of this Master?s thesis is to investigate if the reading habits of teacher students are influenced by merit and descent. The empiric material consists of six questionnaires answered by students at the teacher training with Swedish at the upper secondary school as their first topic. The questionnaire comprised questions about reading habits in the childhood and today and information concerning merits and descent.Pierre Bourdieu?s sociological ideas about cultural capital transmitted from parent to child and the concept of habitus are used as a theoretical framework regarding descent.

This diploma work, with the title Represent and Consume the Land ?I drove following the picture of a spruce through Sweden, is presented as a film and an essay and the aim is to explore the perception of an individual with the film as the medium. To reach this, it is necessary to destabilize my own reality, to explore myself at the same time as I study landscapes and representations of landscapes. The diploma work focus on representations of landscapes of Sweden, external pictures and internal images. The picture is a very strong medium that holds and comunicate myths, about the landscape and about the nation.

Det finns ytterst få beskrivningar av kvinnliga musiker och deras musicerande genom historien. I dag syns fler kvinnor på musikfältet, men männen dominerar fortfarande musikmedierna i stort, både vad gäller artister och journalister. Syftet med denna uppsats är att ta reda på hur ofta och hur mycket kvinnliga respektive manliga artister syns i musiktidningarna Sonic och Lira musikmagasin, i radioprogrammet Mitt i musiken och i tv-programmet PSL- på festival. Vidare vill jag undersöka hur många av texterna och inslagen som är gjorda av kvinnliga respektive manliga journalister. Med hjälp av dessa två representationsstudier undersöker jag sedan om det finns ett samband mellan artisternas kön och journalisternas kön.

When the public artwork Dr?mmarnas monument was installed at G?taplatsen in Gothenburg in the summer of 2023, it became the starting point for one of Gothenburg's most talked about and controversial cultural events. Politicians, journalists, artists and the public made their voices heard, either criticizing the art installation or defending it. The local newspaper G?teborgs-Posten became a central arena for this cultural debate.

This paper deals with Will Kymlicka's and Charles Taylor's theories of multiculturalism, and the criticism of these theories by Jürgen Habermas and Seyla Benhabib. It also gives a brief background to the Swedish integration and minority policies and places them in relations to the academic discussion. Taylor advocates cultural survival to be a legitimate policy objective and Kymlicka argues that rights should be diversified in order to adapt to different needs of cultural minorities. The thesis aims to confront the theories with interviews of four persons who voluntarily or by profession work for the interest of minorities. The theories have been operationalized as questions and structured in four themes with the purpose of analyzing the interviews.

Rådgivningstexter med fokus på relationer återfinns i svensk press, men ett problem med denna typ av rådgivning kan vara det faktum att det är män som agerar rådgivare i texter riktade till kvinnor. En del av denna problematik kan bero på den kritik som riktats mot populärkulturens stereotypa bild av män och kvinnor. Syftet med denna studie är därför att undersöka vilket budskap VeckoRevyns Killpanel sänder ut i frågor rörande relationer, vem Killpanelen vänder sig till samt hur deras svar förmedlar och gestaltar ?verkligheten?.Studien bygger på teorier gällande genus, identitet, heteronormativitet och representation. Målet har bland annat varit att hitta eventuella språkliga mönster som kan ligga till grund för unga kvinnors ständigt pågående identitetsskapande.
