The forest industry is one of the most important industry branches in Sweden. Since the demand of high precision wood deliveries has increased, the demand on a well constructed forest road net also has increased. A good road net gives the wood-supplier competition advantages and also increases its service level towards its customers, lumber-mills and pulp-mills. In some parts of Norrbotten, the road net is still insufficient and not yet built out enough, and that is why it is important to know how to act and where to improve the road net in these areas. The purpose of this thesis was to create a work-model for long term road planning in areas with no road net or a not yet complete road net. The model has been created in an ArcGis environment, where a long chain of tools has been tied together with the program ?Model builder?.

Syftet med examensarbetet är att Four Elements vill utöka sitt produktsortiment från att designa och producera cross-overkläder för den alpina marknaden till att även göra ryggsäckar och andra ?hårdvaruprodukter?. Målet med ryggsäcken är att den ska ha ett tilltalande och annorlunda utseende med en stark Four Elements-känsla. Den ska avse användning för alpina aktiviteter såsom utförsåkning, snowboard- och telemarkåkning och ha en god ergonomisk utformning.

The aim of this master thesis is to study how the development of a public library by means of ideas and methods from the private sector can be related to traditional core values. We base our study on institutional theory, which focuses on norms and values in an organisation, and new institutional theory, which focuses on how organisations are influenced by changes in the environment. We also use New Public Management with a market focus to analyze the implications of a development towards a more market oriented view.The method used is that of a case study of a new library concept, Idea Stores in London. Idea Stores are a number of new public libraries in Tower Hamlets developed from the results of a major opinion survey about libraries. The Idea Stores combine traditional library services with elements of adult education and lifelong learning in a partnership with local learning centres.

Aim: The study aims to investigate the distribution of grades between students in a practical subject and in a theoretical subject.The problem:What is the grade distribution in physical education and mathematics, with respect to gender, socioeconomic background, parental education, ethnicity, and physical activity?Method:To answer the aim of the study a quantitative method was chosen. As the collection method used was questionnaires to 620 students in the 9th grade in Stockholm. Of the 620 questionnaires, 597 questionnaires were used for the static analysis. The method of analysis used cross tables and logistic regression analysis.

According to the arm?s length principle, transactions between associated multinational en-terprises (MNE) shall be based on the same conditions as transactions between unrelated parties. This means that intra-group prices on cross-boarding transactions must be at arm?s length range and consistent with conditions in the open market. My thesis is a combination of theory and practice, where theory is meant to create a context and a background for my interpretation proposal. I wanted to ?access? the ideas that are always in the background of the reasoning which underlies both planning in a larger scale, and the design of a place. I wanted to make a ?work of ideas.? In the process of shaping the proposal, I wanted to be deleted from the site itself.

In connection with riding and handling of horses, many accidents that can cause severe injuries to both horses and humans are existent. The cause is in most cases that the horse is frightened. The horse's fear also affects its usefulness and it has been shown to have adverse effects on the horse's welfare. To increase safety and improve the welfare of both humans and horses, it is important to find appropriate training methods to reduce the fear of horses in frightening situations. This experimental study compares handled habituation to free habituation.

Bakgrund: Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka effekten av sju dagars tillskott av betain (2,5 gram/dag) på prestationsförmågan i idrottsspecifika tester för manliga vältränade cykelatleter.Metod: Sex (n=6) manliga testpersoner (genomsnitt ± standardavvikelse ålder, 31,7 ± 10,2 år; längd, 188,2 ± 3,6 cm; kroppsvikt; 82,5 ± 7,6 kg; fettfri massa, 71,6 ± 7,3 kg) genomförde förtester bestående av fem counter movement jumps, fyra stycken 12 s wingate-sprinter med 2,5 minuters aktiv vila följt av fem ytterligare counter movement jumps. De blev sedan indelade slumpmässigt i betain- eller placebogrupper. Första testet etablerade basvärden och eftertest ?1? samt ?2? föregicks med antingen sju dagars tillskott med placebo (2,5 g maltodextrin plus 12,5 mg riboflavin) eller betain (2,5 g trimetylglycin plus 12,5 mg riboflavin). Riboflavin användes för att undanröja den fiskliknande doften som kan uppstå vid tillskott av betain.

Hälta hos hästar är ett vanligt förekommande problem. Hälta orsakas vanligtvis av inflammatoriska, smärtutlösande tillstånd i rörelseapparaten men kan även ha andra orsaker såsom mekaniska hinder. Rörelseasymmetrier i trav på rakt spår har påvisats hos hästar som av sina ägare uppfattas som friska och fullt fungerande i träning och tävling. Dessutom förekommer systematiska rörelseasymmetrier på volt, och många hältor förstärks på volt. Huruvida rörelseasymmetrierna hos av djurägarna förmodat ohalta hästar beror på smärta och inflammation eller är en biologisk normalvariation är ännu inte känt.

Modern forestry requires a high degree of machine traffic for clear felling and scarification operations. The machines most frequently used are big and the traffic often results in tracks on the forest ground. There are many small streams running through a forest, in connection to logging operations, machines might cross these frequently. These crossings could result in the erosion of fine particulate inorganic matter, which ends up in the stream. The aim of this thesis was to give a general description of small forest streams of order-one in the county of Värmland and to determine the frequency of machine tracks in small streams.

Sweden is one of five nations in the world manufacturing fighter aircrafts. Highly advanced technology is needed in order to develop a fighter aircraft. When developing advanced technology, new applications, other than those initially intended occur, spin-off. Some of Sweden?s largest companies are spin-offs from the fighter aircraft industry.

Syfte: Denna uppsats handlar om kunskapsöverföring med ett specifikt intresse för vad det är som gör att kunskapsöverföring fungerar i ett kunskapsföretag. För att undersöka detta har vi studerat ett multinationellt företag med välmående personal med syftet att söka förståelse för hur kunskapsöverföringsprocessen ser ut i företaget. Vilka processer, tillvägagångssätt och hinder påverkar kunskapsöverföring mellan individer? Kunskap betraktas i uppsatsen som en process vilken är socialt och kontextuellt betingad. Detta synsätt har lett till våra frågor som svarat på hur företaget möjliggör för social interaktion mellan individer där kunskapsöverföring kan ske samt vilka omständigheter på företaget som underlättar eller försvårar kunskapsöverföringen.Teori/Tidigare forskning: För att förstå vad som påverkar kunskapsöverföring har vi bland annat tittat på studier av Inkpen och Tsang, Tsai, McEvily och Reagans samt Levin och Cross.
