Purpose/Aim: The comprehensive purpose is to study how the political journalism is framed, and how the party leaders, with focus on the authority, are constructed in the press.Material/Method: Firstly 84 articles articles printed in the swedish newspapers Aftonbladet, Dagens Nyheter and Svenska Dagbladet have been analysed. Secondly, a textual analysis by means of a critical discourse analysis.Main results: Media are inclined to frame politics as a game or a strategic race. The partyleaders are ascribed authority in different ways. This ascribed authority can also be deconstructed.Key words: Media and politics, party leader, discourse, democracy, framing theory.

This essay deals with the paradox of why the immigrants in Sweden, despite their considerable size of 12 % of the population and common interest and living opportunities, haven?t mobilized politically in any significant way. The aim with this essay is to reach a theoretical understanding of why this paradox exist. By the use of a critical case and a theoretical model, based on theories of collective action, the conclusion of this essay is that, despite the fact that the immigrants have a common interest and an organizational structure, the immigrants in Sweden has not mobilized politically in any significant way. The main reason for this is that they have a weak common identity and they don?t have the structural opportunities to act..

The purpose of my study is to investigate teacher?s perceptions of their mission in the preschool class, and how they work to promote children?s written language development. What methods and working methods they use to awaken curiosity and motivate children to read and write. I am using the qualitative research method to get answers to my questions. I have made four qualitative interviews with four teachers in preschool classes from different schools.My questions are:What conceptions does teachers have about their mission in a preschool class?What different methods and approaches does teachers use to stimulate and wake children?s curiosity for reading and writing development?The theoretical basis for my study is the socio-cultural perspective, where learning occurs in interaction.

This essay studies the funnel-beaker ceramic in connection with the megalith graves in South Scandinavia. In my work I have described the nature of ceramics and looked on the crockery types and ornamentation and then discussed the use of the material in a ritual perspective. In the first part I have focused on the critical aspects you have to think about when you do a study like this one. In the second part of this essay I have done a case study, with the ceramic material, in three passages graves in the area of Falbygden, Western Sweden and studied the ceramic material and the nature of it in South Scandinavia as well. Then in the third I discussed the potential use, there is two, of the ceramic material in general of South Scandinavia and looked at it in a ritual perspective..

This study is focused on representations of power and masculinities in the movie ?Warrior?(2011). By using the notion of interdiscursivity, as discussed by Norman Fairclough, my goal isto analyze how the roles of the characters relate to existing discourses in today?s society. I amprimarily interested in discourses revolving around MMA-fighters, masculinities and familyrelations.The movie to be analysed in this study is suited for interpreting new sorts of masculinitiesthrough the sport of MMA, which itself is fairly new and therefore might represent a new type ofmasculinity in the making.

This report describes a comparative study about reading- and writing development in ?A-towns school? in The Gambia and in ?Villaskolan? in Sweden.The purpose of this study is to compare two teachers in Sweden with two teachers and two volunteers from the school in Gambia, with focus on their thoughts and methods on teaching reading and writing at each school and in their social context. The aim is also to observe and describe how classroom environment at both schools can encourage students to read and write.The theoretical base of this study is rooted in a sociocultural perspective but I have also chosen to illuminate behaviorism and cognitivism. The study is qualitative and the main research methods are interviews and observations of the classrooms.My conclusions are, even though considerable differences in approach and conditions, teachers in both schools work hard and show dedication towards their students.Another finding is that teachers use different techniques and working methods to achieve the same goal -to teach their students to read and write based on what is required of them in their cultural and social context. The different ways of teaching have been caused by the existence of different perceived needs based on culture and tradition.One conclusion is also that read and write requirements for students in the Gambia and Sweden are different from each other.

SammanfattningDetta arbete handlar om hur den första undervisningen av läs- och skrivinlärning kan bedrivas. Utgångspunkter för undersökningen var att jag anser att det är av stor vikt att lära sig läsa och skriva i dagens samhälle och det är ett högt prioriterat mål i läroplanen. Eftersom jag i mitt yrke ska arbeta med läs- och skrivinlärning tänkte jag att jag behövde mer kunskap om hur den egentligen går till. Jag ville också veta hur man kan bedriva undervisning på ett sätt som gynnar alla elever, eftersom alla lär på olika sätt. Jag har undersökt hur pedagoger som arbetar med elever i förskoleklass och klass 1 kan bedriva sin undervisning i ämnet.Min problemprecisering lyder:Hur kan man utforma läs- och skrivundervisningen i förskoleklass och klass 1?Detta område har i arbetet diskuterats utifrån olika litteraturstudier.

This masters thesis is a study of how the expression quality literature is used in widespread newspapers and magazines. Wittgensteins idea of language games is used as a theoretical starting point. The analysis of 37 articles draws a picture of five language games that are called; the taking over, the polarising, the example giving, the gender critical and the ironic language game. The expression that quality literature is most often put in relation to is popular literature. The line between the two is sometimes distinctly drawn in the articles and sometimes quite vague.

Every year, more than 300 riders are seriously injured and over 40 die in road accidents. Being found in time is critical to increase the chance of survival. Syftet med den här rapporten är att se om elever som har svårigheter inom ett specifikt matematiskt område får den undervisning de behöver för att nå upp till målen. En diagnos gjordes med elever i år fyra inom området geometri. De har därefter haft en lektion där en pedagog blivit filmad. Därefter gjordes ytterligare en diagnos med eleverna för att se om resultatet är bättre, sämre eller är oförändrat. Det insamlade materialet analyserades ur ett variationsteoretiskt perspektiv.

Detta arbete tar sin utgångspunkt i sociokulturell litteracitetsteori, som används för att analysera resultaten från en kvalitativ undersökning i förskolemiljö. Syftet är att undersöka hur förskollärare resonerar kring förskolans uppdrag vad gäller litteracitet i förhållande till skolans och förskoleklassens undervisning i skriftspråk och hur man verkställer detta. Utifrån frågeställningar kring hur läroplanens uppdrag kring skriftspråkande tolkas och verkställs bland de äldre barnen i förskolan analyseras vilket förhållningssätt till litteracitet som kommer till uttryck. En annan frågeställning rör hur förskollärarna tolkar relationen mellan förskolans verksamhet och skolans undervisning beträffande skriftspråk. Förskollärare har intervjuats, miljö har dokumenterats och verksamhet i barngruppen har observerats.
