The purpose of this study was to investigate how three Swedish news publications writes about integration and immigrants. The news articles were analyzed with a rhetorical analysis. The method was supplemented with theories of media and ethnicity, agenda setting theory and gatekeeping theory. This study resulted in the conclusion that racist discourses are found in the three news publications, regardless of political color, writer or article genre. Many of the articles makes a clear division of "us and them", where "them" is defined by the text's "us", who are often Swedes.

The purpose of the essay is to investigate how the position of women and girls in society can lead to a valid infringement of the right to privacy (art. 8 ECHR) by allowing the storage of personal data belonging to people who have not been convicted of a crime. The essay uses the traditional legal method to determine the applicable law, but is also grounded in a feminist approach in order to enable an interaction between jurisprudence and societal phenomena. In this thesis I analyse and discuss what impact the 2003 U.S lead intervention in Iraq, had for the cooperation against global terrorism between the European Union and the United States. Six years have passed since the Bush administration decided to go on with the intervention, even though they did not have the necessary UN mandate. Intimate partner violence against women has gone from a concealed family affair to a public issue. The health care services are often those who first come in contact with abused women, despite this many women are not identified as victims of domestic violence. The purpose of this study was to describe nursing care of abused women and factors influencing the care. The study was conducted as a literature review where 18 articles were analyzed. The result showed the importance of the nurses? role in screening for abused women.

The purpose of this study was to examine if there are common factors that lead to young people committing crimes according to professionals in social work, crime prevention and the police. The study also aims to examine if juveniles in Swedish suburbs commit more crimes, the consequences that follows and what actions socialworkers have for these juveniles. The study was conducted through qualitative interviews of five professionals in the area who were contacted from different units. In the analysis Goffmans (1971) theory of stigma was used and Goldberg's (2005) Conspiracy Theory. Some of the conclusions that could be drawn from the study was that there is not only one factor influencing young people to delinquency, but often combinations of different factors that lead to this.

Förekomsten av brott är ett stort problem i vårt samhälle och har stor inverkan på de enkla beslut som tas i vår vardag, exempelvis på valet av område att bosätta sig i. Historiskt sett har ansvaret för att förebygga brottslighet legat hos polisen och de enskilda hushållen men de kan inte allena lösa problemen med brottslighet, och följaktligen blir en bredare strategi för brottsförebyggande arbete nödvändig. Ett sätt att utforma säkerheten är genom arkitektur och kallas för Crime Prevention through Environmental Design (CPTED). Perspektivet avser att minska både möjligheter och rädslan för brott genom att utnyttja de möjligheter som finns att öka överblickbarheten, att ta vara på framtoningen av ett område och att stärka den territoriella känslan hos invånare i ett bostadsområde.Grunden för den teoretiska ramen kommer från artikeln Towards an Economic approach to Crime and Prevention (2002), och använder sig av de fyra begreppen som utvecklades av Clark och Homel (ökad ansträngning, en ökad risk, minska belöningar och minimera antalet potentiella ursäkter). Det finns mängder av litteratur som behandlar ett ekonomiskt angreppssätt på brottslighet, men det finns emellertid få ekonomiska bidrag vad gäller att förebygga brott, och ännu färre inom området för att utforma brottsförebyggande arkitektur.

Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka om mobbningen kan påverka hälsa ochlivskvalitet hos de drabbade. I studien ingick sju personer som utsattes förkränkande behandlingar under sin skolgång. Studien gick ut på att fångainformanternas upplevelse kring mobbningen och därför valdes en kvalitativinriktning med dataanalys baserad på grounded theory. Informanterna fick frittberätta om sin upplevelse kring mobbning, i form av en semistrukturerad intervjusom innehöll följande moment: hemsituation, skolsituation och livet under ochefter mobbningen. Analysarbete resulterade i kärnkategorin?Samhällsmisslyckande?.

Young men who commit sexual abuse is a complex topic. This study is based on litterature on the subject and the material is processed through a qualitative content analysis. The study aims to study how the litterature describes the reasons why young men commit sexual abuse. It also aims to explore what is described to be effective treatment of young men who committed sexual abuse. The study found that most of the young men who commit sexual abuse comes from families where violence and psycohological abuse occurs. Many have themselves been victims of sexual abuse.

Denna studie avser att jämföra brottsoffer och f.d. kriminellas upplevelser av hur individens identitet har formats. Undersökningen bygger på kvalitativa intervjuer med tio informanter som söker besvara frågan om hur individerna upplever att deras sociala band och självkänsla har förändrats av att vara kriminell respektive brottsoffer. Dessa frågor besvaras med de teoretiska utgångspunkter som valts där fokus ligger på Jenkins sociala identitetsteori. Vidare används Scheffs teori om sociala band som är associerad med känslor av skam och stolthet, samt Johnsons teori om självkänsla används som reglerar individens välmående.

In the aftermath of three high-profile honor killings the social service administrators became strongly criticized for their lack of skills and knowledge when it comes to dealing with honorrelated cases. In order to fix this lack of knowledge and to respond to the criticism from the society, the Swedish government allocated resources to train administrators in social services to improve their knowledge of honor-related violence and know how to handle clients who are victims of honor-related crimes.The aim of this study is to examine how social service administrators perceive their professional knowledge regarding to their work in honor-related cases. How they perceive their competence and discretion in relation to the work of honor-related problems and their perception of what resources the organization has to provide training and skill development in this area. The study shows that the social service administrators experience that there has been a development of knowledge in some areas regarding their work with honor-related cases but that there still exists an uneven distribution in terms of knowledge between small and large communities in Sweden..
