Landsbygdsprogrammet och översiktlig planering i några västsvenska kommuner. : En diskursanalys
The rural development programme is a tool for promoting sustainable development in the Swedish Countryside. The master plan should, for example, give directions for the national interest and describe how it will follow up national and regional targets such as the EU's environmental quality standards. Because the municipality has considerable freedom to formulate the plan in its sole discretion, and that it contains the municipality's political vision, it is also feasible to make a discourse analysis of the plan text.In discourse analysis, including articles and documents written by Rural Network Working Group on land use planning to be included. The purpose of discourse analysis is to see if there are differences in the way rural areas are described and if there are any flaws in how the designer interprets the rural development programme. Furthermore, the analysis result in tools that are adapted to the standards we create and choose. The standards we have are being designed based on our values, which differ.
Landsbygdens miljökvaliteter - från folkmun till planering :
Abstract
Considering the social dimension of sustainable development this thesis focuses on the
qualities of life and how the environmental qualities that the inhabitants value can be
incorporated in the physical planning of the municipality. The thesis deals with the problems
that occur when the physical planning, whit its focus on the environmental aspects, also
needs to consider peoples opinions, that springs from the individual experience of the
place.
The municipality of Mark, where this thesis takes its place, is characterised by the
Countryside landscape. Mark is situated in the western part of Sweden close to Göteborg,
Borås and Varberg. The commuting is extensive and the demand for dwellings in the
municipality is increasing. Those who strive to live in the municipality have a conception
of what life on the Countryside means and of which environmental qualities they want to
assimilate.
Introduktionen av tapeter på den svenska landsbygden 1850-1890 : en studie av attityder vid kulturspridning med utgångspunkt i Nordiska museets frågelista om tapeter
The aim of this essay is to examine how people living in the Swedish Countryside looked upon changes in the interiors through modernization in 1850-90. For the first time, there was an abundance of objects available in stores in the Countryside that the majority of the population had money buy. Many novelties were introduced in the interior decoration of ordinary peoples´ homes. This study focuses on the introduction and use of wallpaper and is based on a questionnaire about wallpaper sent from the Nordiska museet, National museum of Culture history in Sweden, to people all over Sweden in 1948. 148 people responded to the questions about use and attitudes toward wallpaper during the second half of the 19th century. My theoretical perspective is cultural diffusion, the spread of cultural items, more specific the diffusion of innovations from larger to smaller places, often influenced by social elites, hierarchical diffusion, and between individuals, contagious diffusion. The analytical perspective used for the analysis is based on the concepts of basic and variable modernity, initiated by the historian Sven-Eric Liedman.
The Countryside dream : amenity Migration and the new transit-oriented communities
This is a final thesis in landscape planning, at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU). The study examines the current phenomenon of amenity migration and the international discourse applicability of the a "Countryside dream" in a small neighborhood in Käglinge, part of the transit-oriented community Oxie just outside of Malmö in the southern part of Sweden.
The critical starting point of the study is the how many planners idealize the dense city with its positive proximity qualities. However, since the late 1900s, many people have instead started to idealize living in more rural or naturally appealing landscapes, often just outside a bigger city, with good transit possibilities (both by car and bus as well as by train).
The phenomenon of amenity migration ? the migration to a new, more appealing everyday environment considered to have more amenities, is very relevant today since many smaller communities are becoming more transit-oriented, allowing the inmigrants to work in some bigger, dense town while living in a small-scale, less dense semi-rural community.
More dense transit-oriented communities are however also an ideal to planners in Sweden, but to what extent can Käglinge in Oxie ? a neither rural nor urban community - fulfill a possible Countryside dream, and what role does the train station have in the in-migrants everyday life?
The study has a theoretical starting point in literature regarding amenity migration, Countryside ideals, representations of the Countryside and the possible migrants themselves, giving a broad perspective on these related issues. The case study of Käglinge in Oxie is then presented, including interviews with Käglinges in-migrants.
Göteborgs blå struktur : med studie av Osbäcken
Gothenburg municipality has a lot of natural water. This paper enhances the function and importance of water in the city. It also deals with the problems of sewage water and flooding. Gothenburg has reached an advanced stage of water planning. By developing a Waterplan, the municipality highlight that water has an important position in the urban planning.
Stadsplaneringsideal. Med den periurbana zonen i fokus - dess potential för den hållbara staden
To be able to plan for the expansion of a town, one needs a vision of the future appear-ance of the town. It is the current issues (social situation, supply and demand, political control etc.) which decide what the ideal for town planning is. This is turn is the steering factor of the physical structure of the town. Therefore, the town's structure is decided by these ideals. In this report, I will present planning ideals that have historically been, and which criticisms that have been directed towards them. With reference to these issues, I will present those guidelines and ideals we have today for planning of our towns.
Trygghet och samverkan i en av Sveriges mest trygga städer : En kvalitativ fallstudie om staden där nästan alla känner sig trygga.
We have in this field study been researching how social comfort is affected by the work of social services and their collaboration with police, schools and health care within a small village located Countryside in the northern part of Sweden. The attribute which sets this village a part from most other small Countryside villages is the fact that the crime rate is amongst the lowest in Sweden as well as the social security feeling within the inhabitants are amongst the highest. We traveled 2298 kilometers back and forth to be able to interview professionals and gather empiric material for this study. The method we have used for data collection has been in the form of semi structured interviews. We have used previous research concerning collaboration, social comfort, social discomfort and fear of crime as our aid to analyze our findings with the help of theories regarding different types of communites (gemeinschaft and gesellschaft) invented by Ferdinand Tönnies (2001) and Human Service Organisation by Hasenfeld (1983).
Landsbygdens återkomst - mångsysslare i ny produktion : Löderup och Valleberga socknar om 10 till 15 år
The essay on ?The revival of the Countryside ? a multitalent in landproduction.? focuses on local and regional development within agriculture, foodprocessing and tourism.Due to great changes in society, the inhabitants in rural areas are forced to find alternative occupations. Using history as a tool to build up the future is a main factor in rural development. Apart from this it involves cooperation, resources, cultural heritage and values, entrepreneurship and innovation, economic vitality, and an understanding of markets and marketing. They all contribute to a region`s ability to benefit from rural development..
Landsbygdsturism och dess förutsättningar : en jämförandestudie kring vilka resurser som krävs för ett framgångsrikt entreprenörskap
Many jobs in rural areas have historically been linked to the agricultural sector. The restructuring that has been implemented in agriculture has resulted in a significant reduction in the number of jobs in rural areas. A consequence of this is that many people have moved to cities to earn a living. To maintain a living Countryside in Sweden, it is therefore essential to create alternative livehoods in rural areas. An industry that can have a major impact in the future is rural tourism.
Prästgårdsträdgårdar : barndomsskildringar från 14 prästgårdsträdgårdar i Växjö stift
Few rectory gardens are today remaining in their former design and the cultural heritage
that they represent are disappearing. Since 1987-88 the parishes are no longer bound
to keep housing for their priests, which means that they, for economical reasons, are
starting to sell their rectories. With this in mind, a group of people, growing up in
rectories in Småland and Öland between the 1930th and 1950th, formed an interest
group to save the memory of their rectory gardens. On the basis of their memories,
they have written a couple of descriptions of the rectories, which describe the gardens
content, design and the life they once lived there. With this compilation of the 14 rectory gardens I want to keep the memory of them and create a ground for future work in this field.
Historically the rectory gardens played an important roll as patterns and examples in the
Countryside.
Hållbar stadsutveckling ? studier av Malmö och Prag
There are numerous questions to be asked when your task is to plan a small community?s future development. Is it possible to suggest something new and modern? What considerations should be taken concerning the existing situation? What is an appropriate size for the new development? Where is it possible to build and what is the most appropriate method to use?In this master´s thesis I have tried to develop and describe a working-process where I execute a complete landscape character analysis for the whole community in question to get the answers to where and how it would be most appropriate to develop a village like Flädie without destroying its current character.Flädie is a typical small village in the Countryside of Skåne, Sweden. It is strongly effected by the expansive and urban region it?s located in but is still rural in character.

Svenska mjölkbönder, snart ett minne blott? - Markbygdens mjölkbönder i tankar om mjölkproduktionens nuvarande situation och framtidsutsikter
Major changes within the agricultural politics today have forced the dairy production to scaleup, in order to compete on a global market. This has resulted in a reduction in the number ofsmaller dairy farms in Sweden, from about 40000 to just over 4000 over the last 30 years. Thepurpose of this study Svenska mjölkbönder, snart ett minne blott? ? Markbygdensmjölkbönder i tankar om mjölkproduktionens nuvarande situation och framtidsutsikter, is topresent the opinions of dairy farmers in Sweden, regarding the Swedish dairy industry and therelation to their own dairy production. A secondary purpose is to problematize how theconsequences of pastures and cultural landscapes influences human society as dairy farms andgrazing animals are becoming fewer.
När har juridiska personer beviljats förvärvstillstånd av lantbruksfastigheter?
The purpose of this report is to study when and why legal persons have been allowed to acquire agricultural properties.
The ownership of agricultural property is governed by the Land Acquisition Act. The reason for this is because they want to limit legal person owner-ship of agricultural properties. It is believed that a large proportion of pri-vate ownership is healthy and stimulating for the Swedish Countryside.
There are some exceptions in which legal persons may be able to acquire. This is a review over decisions taken by the authorities. In this report I have studied purchases made between 2008 and 2010.
Tankar om ett kök
The kitchen is one of the most important rooms in our homes. It is a place for social engagements, meetings between people and activity. How the kitchen looks today is a concept sprung from the Swedish kitchen standard of 1952. Eventhou this standard no longer exists it is a model of how kitchens are designed today. The kitchens most often sold today come from one of four major kitchen manufacturers in Sweden. My thesis investiges an alternative kitchen concept.
