Den här uppsatsen skrevs för att belysa de hinder som kan uppstå när man som musiker tar sig an nutida musik, i detta fall japansk sådan. Den inriktning som arbetet tagit är hur man genom att förändra notbilden kan komma närmare musikens kärna, samt göra instuderingen så effektiv som möjligt under en relativt kort tid. För att nå de resultat jag gjort har jag använt mig av två informanter som arbetat med två stycken för solo flöjt av Kazuo Fukushima (1930), Mei (1962) och Shun?San (1969). Fallstudiens genomförande har tagit tre veckor där informanterna som är studenter har fått studera in båda verken och därefter notera om det ena av dem (Mei) för att se om de med denna metod kom närmare kärnan i musiken och kompositörens intention.

This thesis deals with the characterization of Japan and Japanese people by Swedish travelers during the Meiji period. It seeks to answer what aspects of Japanese people two Swedish travelers chose to highlight, and how these aspects were presented in their travelogues. This thesis also has a second aim. By applying Edward Said?s theory of orientalism, it wants to answer if Swedish travelogues were influenced by western 19th century ideas of colonialism and imperialism.

Syftet med detta examensarbete är att undersöka hur förskollärare ser på arbetet med musik i förskolan, vilket syfte de har med musikstunderna och på vilket sätt barnen ges inflytande över hur musikstunderna utformas och får möjlighet att använda sin kreativitet. Studien genomfördes med hjälp av kvalitativa intervjuer med fyra förskollärare och den teoretiska bakgrunden utgår från ett sociokulturellt perspektiv.Musikstunderna på förskolor är vanligtvis spontana och initieras av både vuxna och barn. Förskollärarna är positivt inställda till musik men det förekommer en osäkerhet om den egna kompetensen inom ämnet. Musiken fungerar ofta som ett medel för att lära sig något annat, och inte som ett mål i sig. Förskollärarna upplever att barnen ges möjlighet till inflytande i musikstunderna och att barnen har tillgång till material av olika slag, som exempelvis instrument.

This essay aims to broaden the understanding of intolerance towards people with religious and/or cultural Islamic association or background. This thesis has intolerance and Islamophobia as central components and starts with the question: In what manner do twelve pupils talk about Islam and Muslims in their third year of the vocational program, in small towns and in the countryside? The survey took place in the south of Sweden in a rural municipality where a total of twelve students from the industrial, electricity and vehicle program in the Swedish gymnasiums participated in two separate focus group interviews. The essay will use an intersectional analysis to see where the students position themselves and Muslims in relation to each other and to society. The essay also contains a comparison of Islamophobia in the country side and in the city environment.

Title: Creating meetings - a study in interactionism and creating music. In this study I had my focus on teenagers in a school class. My aim was to explore how pupils experience the processes of creating music together and how they choose to organize their interactions during these creative processes. As analytical tools I used sociological and sociopedagogical concepts and theories. Interactionism provided models toward individualization as well as socialization, related to learning, knowledge and creativity.

Genom observationer och intervjuer på barn undersöks hur och påvilket sätt barn lär av varandra på musiklektioner. Med samlärande menas allt lärandesom sker mellan människor och begreppet utgår ifrån hur vi i en lärprocess kanförespråka delaktighet, kommunikation och mångfald av idéer och tankar. Vygotskij ochPiaget har haft stor inverkan på samarbetes roll i våra läroplaner och det framgår främstgenom ett demokratiperspektiv på undervisningen. Dock tycks betydelsen av barnssamverkan i läroplanerna minskat genom åren.

This thesis presents a research of Swedes view on sex tourism in Thailand. This research is showing how Swedes sees sex tourism in Thailand and what kind of thoughts they have about it. This research also shows the Swedish view on sex tourism in Thailand and how it differs from the view of the Swedish media and their opinion about the subject. Furthermore, this research shows that the view of this subject differs depending on the respondents? experience of travelling in Thailand.

This study examines how to translate digitally composed symphonic music to note script and how it gets readable and playable. With the help of professional musicians from the Norrköping Symphony Orchestra, teachers from Kulturskolan in Norrköping as well as other musicians, I have learned how I can improve each individual stem in my composition. I also learned how to write for a real musician. My score have been analyzed by composers and a conductor which have given me a more in depth insight into composing symphonic music.The theory section describes important MIDI aspects, score preparation and note editing techniques. Thereafter is a section about the symphony orchestra and its instruments? history and how the situation is today.

The aim of this Master?s Thesis is to examine the importance of literacy and reading in a country like Jamaica. What role do public libraries and bookmobiles play in promoting literacy, and how does this work correspond with the UNESCO public library manifesto?To answer this, interviews were conducted with nine Jamaican librarians, and study visits were made to libraries and bookmobiles. Student recruitment? - Three teachers? thoughts concerning children's first experiences in municipal arts and music schools. The aim of this thesis is to explore three teacher' experiences of recruitment of students to arts and music schools. The thesis includes thoughts about how teachers can inspire students and why the orchestral string bass is an infrequent choice of instrument to study. I have examined the issues through a qualitative study where I have interviewed three licensed string bass teachers of different ages and backgrounds.
