In Sweden, detailed development plans (DDPs) go through a screening process to decide whether their implementation could cause significant environmental impact or not. The criteria in the legislation were studied to see if an environmental impact assessment was needed. This study also investigated 26 DDPs from 12 out of 13 of the municipalities in Östergötland and how they meet up to the demands in relevant legislation, for example the rules for Environmental Impact Assessments. Plans that concerned suburban communities and new housing were selected. The environmental issues highlighted in the plan documents were compared to selected topics from the GIS data base 'Östgötakartan' to see if the assessments made by the municipalities were reasonable judged.

I flera stora jämförande undersökningar av elever i olika länder har det framkommit att svenska elever har lågt självförtroende i ämnet matematik och detta gäller i synnerhet tjejerna. Syftet med min undersökning har varit att fördjupa mina kunskaper om självskattningens betydelse. Eleverna fick skatta sin lösningsförmåga för 10 stycken givna uppgifter. Sedan fick de lösa exakt samma uppgifter och min analys bygger på att jämföra skattning med lösningsfrekvens. Jag ville se om jag kunde hitta något samband mellan självskattning och lösningsfrekvens samt kön.

År 1996 avreglerades den Svenska elmarknaden vilket innebar att elpriset övergick från att vara reglerat till att bli konkurrensutsatt. I denna uppsats analyseras elmarknaden och dess förändring i struktur och prisbildning sedan avregleringen. Detta görs genom en Structure-Conduct-Performance analys där marknadsprestationen ses ha ett samband med marknadsstrukturen. Marknadsprestationen belyses närmare genom en analys av konsument och producentöverskottet. Våpr slutsats är att inga välfärdsvinster har uppstått till följd av avregleringen utan snarare tvärtom, och det verkar inte heller bli en mer konkurrenskraftig marknad i framtiden..

Med bakgrund i forskning kring lärares professionalisering, om de styrdokument som studeras och ämnena som de gäller för genomförs en jämförande kritisk interdiskursiv analys av kursplaner (Lpf94 reviderade år 2000) och ämnesplaner (Gy11). Utifrån en design som nyttjar förändrings- och referenspunktsstrategierna används en metod baserad på kritisk diskursanalys och kritisk realistisk ontologi samt den begreppsapparat som därmed följer. Nio diskursiva strategier med underkategorier identifieras och kopplas till lärares professionalisering och deprofessionalisering. En professionaliserings- och en deprofessionaliseringsdiskurs identifieras även och dessas interdiskursiva relation beskrivs i termer av artikulering, produktion och reproduktion av skiljaktigheter och olikheter samt diskursiv kamp. Uppsatsens huvudsakliga slutsats är att deprofessionaliseringsdiskursen i form av deprofessionaliserande diskursiva strategier har större utrymme i de studerade ämnesplanerna än i de studerade kursplanerna och därmed att utrymmet för lärares professionalisering minskat i ämnesplanerna jämfört med i kursplanerna..

This paper examines dialect as a rhetorical means of persuasion. A survey containing inquires about four different Swedish dialects have been handed out mainly in Södertörn University and Stockholm University, in order to research the values and connotations of theese dialects. The four chosen dialects are as following: Göteborgska, Stockholmska, Norrländska and Skånska. The results of the survey are processed and compiled to see which attitudes these values and connotations may indicate to each dialect. These attitudes and values are then discussed in correlation with five rhetorical theories: Attitude as a means of persuation, Ethos, Persona, Rhetorical Agency and Pierre Bourdieu?s theory of Field and Habitus.

The aim of this study was to examine language abilities and their correlation to reading comprehension in 12 year old children with mild tomoderate sensorineural hearing impairment. Eight children with mild to moderate hearing impairment were tested in listening comprehension, grammatical comprehension, receptive vocabulary, phonological short termmemory, word finding, semantic relations, reading comprehension, comprehension of written words and decoding of words and non-words. The results were compared to results from a comparison group. The children with hearing impairment had significantly lower results in phonological short term memory and decoding. No significant difference was found between groups in reading comprehension.

In this paper the authors are trying to understand what separates men from women when they save and invest their money. But also what factors that influence them in their decisions. To investigate how men and women actually act when investing their money the authors construct a survey. The authors also turn to the Swedish banks for information on how they think there customers are behaving. The authors find that men are more risk- taking than women and therefore invest more in products with higher risk, for example shares.

Flowcytometric technology has been widely used for measurement of the absolute numbers of T-lymphocytes subsets in Human Immunodeficiency virus (HIV), defining the disease state, monitoring antiviral treatment, and identifying any risk for opportunistic infections. A manual preparing of the samples is required. More recently an automated and enclosed blood cell counting, Celldyn Sapphire has been introduced. In this study the performance of the Flow cytometer EPICS XL as a reference method for analysis of CD3+, CD4+ and CD8 T-lymphocytes was evaluated with blood from 40 individual?s samples.

Mind-mindedness refers to the mother?s ability to treat her child as an individual with a mental life of his or her own. In the present study, the purpose is to investigate the relationship between the amount of mind-related comments the mother produces when the child is 9 months of age and the child?s development in language and communication at the age of 15 months. The hypothesis is that the amount of mind-related comments the mother produces has a positive affect on the child?s language abilities as well as his or her ability to initiate joint attention.

ABSTRACT Our main objective with this essay is to provide a description of old people?s stories about aging. The essay is based on the empirical source of four qualitative interviews with older people over the age of eighty years young. The main goal is to inquire answers about; their time in the workforce; retirements; healthissues; media/advertisements; adolescence/youthfulness and attitudes. The following main questions have been dealt with: What do the elderly emphasize when they describe ageing? Are healthissues the prime subjects the elderly talk about? Do the elderly experience positive or negative attitudes towards ageing? What is their point of view of younger generations? In what way do they describe their years as workers? In what way do they describe aspects about their retirement? We reserved to consider the opinion of their own, to be the most valuable source in our study.

This thesis has been done at the powder department (GH) at AB Sandvik Coromant in Gimo. With a rheometer measurements has been made on raw materials and powder blends. The focus of this report has been to find correlations between raw material powders and press data, comparisons have also been made between raw materials and powder blends.The rheometer can show information of how a powder act in flow conditions, together with air and with pressure. Analyses has been done comparing the rheometer data with press parameters (for example: rejected orders, weight variations and the compaction pressure) with the goal to find correlations between the powders flow properties and the powders compaction in production.The measurements and analyses have been showing that the powder flow properties depends on the powders composition and that properties like flow rate, aeration and permeability varies between powder blends and batches of the same powder sort. It seems to exist a correlation between the pressure force and the flow rate of a raw material.
