This paper investigates the grammatical construction intransitive motionconstruction with GOAL as it is used in Swedish (Swe. intransitivrörelsekonstruktion med MÅL).I examine in which ways the construction is productive, i.e. thepossibility to use the construction with new verbs as well as withordinary motion verbs with new functions. The notion of productivity isbased on the construction?s type frequency and semantic openness(Goldberg 1995, 2006; Barðdal 2008; Bybee 2010).

I denna uppsats har språket i 504 svenska internetforuminlägg skrivna av personer i åldrarna 20-25 år och 40 år och äldre undersökts. Inläggens språkliga form har undersökts genom att förekomsten av tio olika okonventionella språkdrag hämtade från menings-, ord- och teckennivå har analyserats. Analysen av inläggen visar att det finns ett tydligt samband mellan språket i inläggen och skribentens ålder. Den yngre gruppen forumdeltagares inlägg karakteriseras av ett stort antal okonventionella språkdrag som anses vara typiska för datordialoger, medan den äldre gruppens inlägg innehåller färre sådana okonventionella språkdrag och alltså istället har ett språk som i högre utsträckning följer den traditionella skriftspråksnormen..

This paper describes the process of building a machine translation lexicon for use in the train and transport domain with the machine translation system MATS. The lexicon will consist of a Swedish part, an English part and links between them and is derived from a Tradostranslation memory which is split into a training(90%) part and a testing(10%) part. The task is carried out mainly by using existing word linking software and recycling previous machine translation lexicons from other domains. In order to do this, a method is developed where focus lies on automation by means of both existing and self developed software, in combination with manual interaction. The domain specific lexicon is then extended with a domain neutral core lexicon and a less domain neutral general lexicon.

This essay attempts to show a relativistic effect on the representation of motion situations. A summarize and defence for lingusitic relativity as scientifically valid and some taxonomic clarifications is initially presented. The relativistic effect is measured by using the elicitation tool Event Triads, developed at the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics. The tool consists of a set of films displaying various motions. Test-subjects are asked to verbalize a situation in a way they see fit.

The chief aim of this study is to investigate the impact of context on written peer response. A second aim is to explore students? attitudes towards peer response. The investigation has taken place at an upper secondary school in the south-east of Sweden, involving 20 students in grade 2 and 3 in the course Swedish C. This thesis is a comparative analysis of language policy in the Post-Soviet states Ukraine and Kazakhstan, wherein the states are seen as rational actors using language as an instrument in the nation-building process. With a take-off point in an underframe of theories on the nation, national identity, instrumentalism, power and the particular role of language in the nation-building process, this thesis shows that language is a key instrument used by the two states.The Ukrainian and Kazakhian language policies create and put across a certain image of the nation, by emphasising the titular languages as symbols of the new states. The line of argument in the language policy is a balance act between large-scale promotion of titular languages and a careful and inclusive attitude towards the Russian language. The biggest differences are that Ukraine, compared to Kazakhstan, has a more comprehensive and consequent language policy with a deeply rooted historic rhetoric. The most obvious instruments of the states in language policy is censuses, corpus-planning and the state choosing one official language..

Arbetet syftar till att ge en bild av dramats möjligheter inom språkundervisningen och består av två huvuddelar; en litteraturdel samt en undersökningsdel. I teoridelen belyser jag begreppet drama ur ett antal synvinklar samt presenterar ett antal inlärningsteoretiker för att se om jag hos dessa kan hitta stöd för att drama kan gynna elevers lärande. I undersökningsdelen undervisar jag i dramainspirerad engelska i två åldersgrupper och låter sedan eleverna utvärdera denna undervisning med hjälp av en skriftlig enkät. This master thesis was conducted in order to investigate the effects of the browsing species Yeheb on animal tissues in Swedish landrace goats and to make a literature review in order to increase the knowledge of the importance of this plant for livestock production in Somalia. The evergreen Yeheb bush is a very important feeding source for grazing and browsing animals in Somalia during the dry period. Yeheb contains cordeauxiaquinone that stains the bones of the animals red/pink, which has been an increasing problem when exporting meat to foreign countries. In an experiment, two goats were fed dry and fresh leaves from the Yeheb bush for one and two months, respectively. The goats did not feed the intended amount of dry leaves, since the supply and palatability was not as high as estimated.

Anledningen till varför jag valde att just skriva om läs- och skrivsvårigheter är dels att fenomenet förekommer ute i skolan och dels att jag som lärare förväntas vara kompetent på området och inte minst kunna hantera det praktiskt. Mitt syfte är att i en deskriptiv litteraturstudie ge exempel på konkreta metoder för hur man kan arbeta med elever med läs- och skrivsvårigheter i klasserna 4-6 om man är vanlig klasslärare och då inom ramen för klassrumsundervsining. Mina övergripande frågor är: - Vad är läs- och skrivsvårigheter? - Hur yttrar sig läs- och skrivsvårigheter i skolan? - Vad finns det för olika metoder att använda sig av som vanlig lärare för att underlätta skolarbetet för elever med läs- och skrivsvårigheter? På slutet i diskussionsavsnittet tar jag upp vilka metoder jag kan tänka mig att använda mig av i mitt arbete med elever med läs- och skrivsvårigheter. Resultatet av denna litteraturstudie är att jag tycker mig ha fått en större inblick i hur man kan arbeta med elever med läs- och skrivsvårigheter och att jag är en bit på väg men inser också att det i praktiken är eleven i fråga som får visa vägen för hur vi ska arbeta....
