This thesis explore women?s needs when reentering society after having served a sentence at the female prison Färingsö, outside Stockholm and whether those needs are being met in the reentry strategies that are being provided. Parallel to this the thesis also examines if there, based on nonconformity and gender theories, is a socially constructed representation of women maintained in the rehabilitation work.The method of this thesis applied semi-structured interviews and used snowball sampling to expand the network of informants to obtain the data necessary. Totally five interviews were carried out. Previous research has shown that women in prison have much more complex problems than men and that there is a need for reentry strategies that take gender in account.The results showed that in terms of being able to reenter back in society, women needed help to structure a previously chaotic life.

Väntetiden vad gäller behandling för patienter med prostatacancer är lång. Detta gör att patienter med prostatacancer lever med sjukdomen prostata-cancer och känslorna kopplade till diagnosen prostatacancer under en lång tid. Syftet med den aktuella studien var att beskriva copingprocessen för patienter med prostatacancer innan medicinsk behandling.

In secondary school for individuals with learning disabilities there has been a focus on care-taking rather than on comprehension in general, and on reading comprehension in particular.The purpose of this study was to investigate whether Reciprocal Teaching would increase reading comprehension and motivation among upper secondary school for individuals with learning disabilities. The study presents how three 17-year-old pupils and their teacher, discussed expository fact texts during twelve lessons using the reciprocal method combined with power point-presentations to get the students to read more actively with interferences and reflections. The ambition was to make the structured text talks as interesting as possible with texts easy to read, technical aids, structure to make the students feel security when reading and to get committed pupils with an increased interest in reading.The results show an increase in motivation in reading, and the students were more prone to take an active part in discussions..

This is a qualitative study aiming to examine peoples? experiences when retiring. In that purpose a criteria based sample has been used, participants have been asked in that they fulfilled the criteria?s to be a retiree within the age of 65 to 71 years of age. The reason of the age criteria was that the experiences should not be so far away in time.

This study is about how a swedish brand within the food industry that experiences a crisis following a product failure. It focuses on three areas following the crisis and these are crisis management, recovery strategies and brand management. This study seeks to explain how these areas interact in relation to massive exposure to mass media and how they interact restore the brand's potential loss of reputation. This study was conducted as a case study with a deductive and qualitative approach. The data gathered to this study was mainly based on newspaper articles and complemented with semi-structured interviews with twelve local retailers of the brand..

Background: The amount of elderly patients who?s suffering from dementhia increases every year. Many of these patients develop and decrease in their cognitive ability. The development can lead to people's communication skills deteriorate. It can be a problem for the nurse to communicate with these patients.

The present study deals with task-oriented conversations between a person with hearing loss and a relative or friend. The purpose was to investigate how the participants in the task-oriented context co-construct understanding, and to focus on different kind of repair strategies that the participants may use to make the hearing loss relevant in the conversation. The method used was Conversation Analysis (CA). The material consisted of eight videotaped task-oriented conversations between a person with hearing loss and their significant other. Altogether eight persons participated in the study ? four of them had a hearing loss and the other four had normal hearing.

Sjuksköterskor behöver då en strategi för att klara av det dagliga arbetet. Syftet var att belysa sjuksköterskors erfarenheter av palliativ vård och vilka coping-strategier som kan användas för att hantera känslomässiga påfrestningar som kan uppkomma inom den palliativa vården. Litteraturstudien utgick från vetenskapliga artiklar som analyserats med hjälp av manifest innehållsanalys.

This Master?s thesis is a comparative study of information retrieval results between three distinct search strategies in simulated automatic query expansion in a bibliographic database. Our purpose is to investigate which of the search strategies score the most effective precision and to what extent the same relevant documents are retrieved (overlapped). A thesaurus attached to the database is used to select appropriate descriptors for the baseline query formulations which subsequently are expanded with hierarchical relations. The search strategies are s1: A baseline query with two or three descriptors, s2: The baseline descriptors combined with at least one Narrower Term, s3: The baseline descriptors combined with Narrower Term and at least one Broader Term.

As a result of global competition, companies within the automotive industry are required to improve their production systems to achieve sustainable and competitive production. To attain operational excellence, companies have adopted concepts like lean and World Class Manufacturing (WCM).In order to deliver, companies need to increase the availability and reliability of production equipment. This demands focus on both operational and strategic maintenance, and efficient equipment acquisition and management. The main objective of this thesis is to identify processes and success factors that are necessary for improved maintenance performance. By conducting a case study and by performing a literature review, the following has been studied: 1) how companies within the automotive industry work with maintenance and maintenance strategies, 2) implementation of maintenance strategies, and 3) new acquisition and spare parts management for maintenance. The results show that basic maintenance concepts and related terms are well defined in the literature.

 Stress och symtom på stress, ökar inom hela den svenska befolkningen. I synnerhet har stressen ökat hos hälso- och sjukvårdens professioner. Stressrelaterade sjukdomar som hjärtkärlsjukdomar och depression leder till sjukskrivningar. Sjuksköterskan löper hög risk att utsättas för hög stress på arbetsplatsen och stressens påverkan på sjuksköterskan står i relation till hur hon värderar situationen samt vilka hanteringsmöjligheter hon ser. Ett ineffektivt hanteringsmönster kan få svåra konsekvenser för hälsa och socialt liv.

Denna studie hade som syfte att undersöka vilka orsaker till stress svenska elitfotbollsdomare upplever samt hur domarna hanterar den upplevda stressen. Vidare syfte var att undersöka hur stressen påverkar domarnas hälsa, och vilken påverkan stressen har på beteendet hos domarna. Urvalet till denna studie bestod av 10 svenska elitfotbollsdomare, både män och kvinnor, med domaruppdrag inom Allsvenskan eller Superettan säsongen 2011. En semistrukturerad intervjuguide användes under antingen telefon- eller personliga intervjuer. Intervjuerna analyserades genom en kvalitativ innehållsanalys.

The aim of this master's thesis is to describe the visibility of the university libraries in the strategic documents from the actual universities to which they belong. And also, the image of themselves they send out, are examined. By examining different kinds of descriptions we want to get a clearer picture of how and in what amount the libraries are mentioned in highest level strategies. By doing this we expect to find out the libraries' strategic role in higher education and research. The research questions are: What role and function are assigned to the university libraries in strategies created by the schools' highest administrative levels? How do the libraries present themselves in their own strategies? The approach is cross sectional and the time frame is year 2008.

Stress bland ungdomar är något som går allt längre ner i åldrarna. Prestationskrav och konkurrens ökar och många ungdomar är rädda att inte räcka till vilket kan leda till stress. Syftet med studien är att undersöka vad som stressar ungdomar på det naturvetenskapliga programmet i gymnasieskolan och hur elevernas copingresurser verkar i förhållande till stressen. Studien bygger på ett flertal olika psykologiska teorier om stress och coping, däribland Krav-Kontroll-Stöd modellen, utvecklad av Robert Karasek och Thöres Theorell (1990), Lazarus och Folkmans teorier om coping (1984), Siegrist ansträngnings- och belöningsmodell (1996) samt Blumberg och Pringles (1982) prestationsteori. I studien deltog 64 elever på det naturvetenskapliga programmet i Luleå.

Bakgrunden: Sinne för humor är individuellt, är en del av personligheten samt kan vara ett viktigt verktyg i omvårdnadsarbetet. Humor kan vara en gratis medicin som rätt anpassad kan ha positiva effekter på patienten som att lindra smärta, ge avslappning och hjälpa patienten att skapa distans till svårigheter. Trots det inbjuder sällan sjuksköterskan till humor med patienten i omvårdnadsarbetet. Syftet var att beskriva sjuksköterskans möjligheter till och användning av humor i omvårdnadsarbetet. Metod för fördjupningsarbetet var en allmän litteraturstudie baserad på 11 kvalitativa och kvantitativa artiklar.
