The purpose of this study was to examine how school counselors in a specific municipalityviewed their work situation, if they experienced stress and how they would handle that stress.Five school counselors out of eight in the specific municipality participated in qualitativeinterviews where they could describe their feelings and thoughts. Their experiences wasexamined and analyzed with the theories of coping and empowerment. The results showedthat there were unhealthy levels of stress in the profession amongst the five counselors. It alsoshowed that the uttermost reason for the experienced unhealthy stress was the feeling of notbeing able to give as much time and help to the pupils as they want and need. The reason forthis was that an increasing number of pupils were, and are, experiencing unhappiness and arein need of seeing the school counselor.

Uppsatsen syftar till att analysera organisatoriska konsekvenser som skapas genom "Resource Management". Detta arbetssätt ("Resource Management") innebär kortfattat att varje medarbetare har två chefer; en resurschef som ansvarar för individuell kompetensutveckling och resursallokering och en arbetschef vilken ansvarar för produktionen inom projekt och service.Vi har använt oss av ett kvalitativt tillvägagångssätt bestående av sammanlagt tio intervjuer med resurschefer, medarbetare och förändringsledare, samt dokumentstudier för att uppnå studiens syfte.Vi tycker oss ha funnit att det inte existerar en optimal växelverkan mellan organisationens produktionslogik och utvecklingslogik, vilket påverkar möjligheterna till utveckling i arbetet. Vidare kan "Resource Management" betraktas som positivt och "lyxigt". Å andra sidan kan en organisatoriskt inbyggd konflikt ha negativ inverkan på utvecklingsmöjligheterna. Sammantaget konstaterar vi att organisationen har genomfört en generös och djärv satsning i syfte att öka utvecklingen i arbetet men ställer oss samtidigt frågande till hur pass genomförbart detta är i realiteten, då tillräckligt utrymme för reflektion inte tycks ges.

The purpose of this study is to identify the points-of-difference that should form the basis for Bryggarsalen?s future marketing efforts. Bryggarsalen is a newly established conference business in Stockholm. To be able to identify these points-of-difference, Bryggarsalen?s marketing problems have been studied from the resource-based view, claiming that the source of sustained competitive advantage derive from a firm?s unique bundle of resources.

Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency is a hereditary disease that in Sweden is especially common in German shepherds. The Swedish German shepherd club has currently no plan of action for decreasing disease prevalence in the breed. The purpose of this study was to review existing literature about the disease and also to perform an inventory of the disease in the Swedish dog population. Special focus was laid on the German shepherd breed. The inventory was later compared to an unpublished inventory of the disease with data from the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences from 1997. During the period 2002-06-01 to 2007-09-26 (ca 64 months) 2961 blood samples were analyzed for cTLI. 274 samples were positive (cTLI .

The topic for this essay is tutoring for nurses. The study is about nurses who work in a nursing home for the elderly and who want to get tutoring and more education. Qualitative method was used and twelve nurses who worked in a nursing home were interviewed. The interviews were taped and written down. Then relevant quotes were picked out of the text and placed into eight different themes.

Påverkar vår personlighet de utbildningsval vi gör i livet? Denna fråga ligger till grund för studien som gjordes på ekonom- och sjuksköterskestudenter på Uppsala Universitet. I studien deltog 120 personer och undersökningsdeltagarna (Ud) var jämnt fördelademellan ekonomer/sjuksköterskor och kvinnor/män. Studien genomfördes genom att Ud fick svara på 48 stycken påståenden som utgick från Eysenck Personality Inventory (EPI). Tidigare forskning har påvisat skillnader i personlighet mellan ekonom- och vårdstudenter.

Det svenska samhället blir alltmer mångkulturellt. I och med den ökade invandringen behöver hälso- och sjukvård uppmärksamma kulturens betydelse för patienters hantering av sin sjukdom. Utan förståelse för individers kulturella värderingar är det svårt för vårdpersonal att förstå hur individers copingmönster påverkas vid ohälsa. Syftet med litteraturstudien var att belysa hur kulturella hälsoövertygelser kan påverka människors copingmönster vid ohälsa. Till resultatet användes 13 artiklar (elva kvalitativa, en kvantitativ samt en som var både kvantitativ och kvalitativ) som granskades och analyserades.

Child poverty in Sweden as a social phenomenon has been highlighted in various debates and in poverty research during the recent years. Children's economic vulnerability has gotten more place in research. An interest to highlight child poverty awakened and this study highlights child poverty through a resource perspective among children in preschools. This study aims to examine how preschool teachers perceive the child's assets to various resources as well as how preschool teachers perceive the impact of the preschool where they work on children's access to these resources. The study is qualitative and has used interviews as a tool.

Zetterberg's Industri AB believe that capital and lead time will be reduced by implementing Kanban. Therefore, it was an investigation to prove that Kanban is an effective method. In this work a research had to be done to show how the material supply system looks like today and to explore the subframe components to see which components that are interesting from Kanban viewpoint. Previous orders of subframes were investigated. Therefore, it was a list of the various components of the previous orders for the subframe.

Syftet med föreliggande studie var att belysa hur några individer, på ett positivt sätt, handskats med problematiken runt alopeci vid cytostaticabehandling. Följande frågeställningar har varit i fokus: Hur såg dessa individers copingstrategier ut innan, under och efter håravfall? Finns det någon gemensam nämnare mellan individer som till synes har en väl fungerande  copingstrategi? Ostrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes samt skriftliga källor såsom bloggar och berättelser användes.Det resultat som kunde utläsas ur materialet har bland annat pekat på hur olika kamoufalgestrategier använts samt hur situationsbundna dessa var. Flertalet deltagare använde sig av såkallade anicipatory coping, såsom att införskaffa olika typer av camoufalge som inte nödvändigtvis kom till användning senare. Två olika strategier användes för att handskas med alopecin, antingen inkorporrerades hårlösheten som en del av personligheten eller så sågs utseendeförändringen som en ovidkommande del av sjukdomsförloppet som var skiljd från personligheten.

This BSc thesis is a part of an initial step of a collaboration between Skansen and Kenyan Wildlife Service (KWS) and constitutes of an inventory of the Nairobi Animal Orphanage run by KWS. Animal Orphanage takes care of orphaned and injured animals arriving from throughout Kenya. The project started out as a refuge and as a temporary place for animals in need of care and help. With time it has evolved to an establishment that resembles and functions more like an animal zoo. The aim of this inventory is to focus on how the biological needs of Congo grey parrots ( Psittacus erithacus erithacus) and cheetahs (Acinonyx jubatus) are met, in terms of management and housing.

Denna rapport var en kvalitativ intervjustudie om coping och salutogena faktorer bland fem hjärt- lungsjuka män. Syftet var att få ökad förståelse om vilka olika copingstrategier män använde för att hantera sin sjukdom och leva ett hälsosamt liv. Vidare ville författaren belysa olika faktorer som var salutogena och var av betydelse för copingförmågan i informanternas liv. Genom att lyfta fram den individuella variansen var förhoppningen att dessa faktorer och copingsstrategier skulle belysas. Detta ansågs ha betydelse för vilka faktorer som bland annat vårdpersonal inom rehabilitering av hjärt-lungsjuka män kunde stärka ännu mer.

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka upplevelsen av olika copingstrategier hos kvinnor med depression. Copingstrategierna har belysts utifrån hur effektiva kvinnorna anser dem vara och vi har även granskat om och i så fall hur dessa copingstrategier är könsbundna. Vår empiri bestod av intervjuer med fem informanter som alla gått eller går i behandling. Våra teoretiska analysredskap har varit coping och genusteori. Resultatet av studien visar att informanterna använder sig av flera olika copingstrategier för att hantera sin depression och att dessa huvudsakligen kan delas upp i känslofokuserad och problemfokuserad coping.

Sjuksköterskor på sjukhusavdelningar upplever stress genom höga krav och lågt stöd från arbetsgivaren, låg kontroll över arbetet och stor arbetsbelastning. Syftet med den här studien var att beskriva vilka stressorer som finns hos avdelningssjuksköterskor på sjukhus och vilka copingstrategier de använder för att hantera stressen. Frågeställningar till studien är: Vilka stressorer finns hos sjuksköterskor som arbetar på sjukhus? Vilka copingstrategier använder sjuksköterskor på sjukhus för att hantera stressen? Studiens metod är systematisk litteraturstudie. Analysmetoden är latent innehållsanalys.

The aim of this essay was to examine children's experiences of having a pathological gambler as a parent, which consequences this led to socially, economically and emotionally, if those children got any help and in that case where and what kind of help.Central questions asked where:* In what way did the child experience consequences from the parent's gambling?* How did the child experience the gambling parent during the gambling period?* In what way did the gambling affect the relationship between the parent and the child?* How did the parent's gambling affect the child socially, emotionally and economically?* How did the child handle this?* What help did the child itself think it required?* Where did the child got help?This is a qualitative study of nine today adult persons that grown up with a pathological gambler as a parent. The method is qualitative semi structured interviews.The results of the study are that all of them experienced large consequences socially, emotionally and economically. The consequences varied depending on the total situation in the family. The result shows that all of them have got coping abilities and they have applied more to emotion-focused forms of coping than to problem-focused coping..
