The field of coping has become more developed during the past decades but there is still a lot to be discovered and discussed. Theories of developmental psychology describe the possibility to map a general developmental structure of how the human mind expands. The aim of this study is to contribute to further research in whether there is a reason why we cope the way we do in relation to age. The questions answered in this study was, what coping two girls, whom lived during the Holocaust, used and how the coping found, were possible to interpret from theories of developmental psychology. In order to answer the questions asked a method called Template Analysis Style and three different theories have been applied.

Arbetslöshet innefattar fler faktorer än brist på arbete och ekonomiska begränsningar. Tidigare studier uppvisar samband mellan arbetslöshet och stressrelaterade sjukdomar och som arbetslös kan upplevelse av kategorisering medverka till känsla av att förlora sin identitet. I denna kvalitativa intervjustudie bestående av sex stycken arbetslösa, kvinnliga deltagare diskuteras olika coping strategiers betydelse för hur situationen som arbetslös hanteras. Datamaterialet har bearbetats induktivt genom meningskoncentrering. Studien visar att stöd från omgivningen samt självförtroende är avgörande faktorer som medverkar till adaptiv, problemfokuserad coping.

Abstract Syftet med denna undersökning var att utforska vilken coping av passiv och aktiv som lärare på en högskola i Sverige uppger att de använder sig av. Lärares stress och copingstrategier är ett område som har uppmärksammats länge och majoriteten av forskarna på området menar att strategin passiv coping i störst utsträckning används av lärare (Pomaki & Anagnostopoulou, 2003; Rieg et al., 2007, Griva & Joekes, 2003; och Markham, 2000).

Tjejer i årskurs nio är en riskgrupp för att utveckla ohälsa. Två symtom på ohälsa är negativ självbild och dysfunktionell coping. Syftet med studien är att undersöka om det finns specifika samband mellan självbild och coping hos tjejer i årskurs nio. 46 tjejer och 41 killar fyllde i självbildsformuläret Jag tycker jag är och copingformuläret Brief Cope. Resultaten visar på att tjejer med negativ självbild använder sig mer av den dysfunktionella copingstrategin självanklagelse än killar med negativ självbild.

The purpose of this study was to examine work related stressors and related coping strategies among case managers at a domestic violence shelter in the United States. We further wanted to examine whether locus of control among the participants could be related to work related stress and coping strategies. Qualitative interviews were performed with eight case managers to gain knowledge about the stressors and coping strategies they used by examining their thoughts, feelings and experiences. The result showed that the case managers experience a number of stressors in their work environment such as system problems (e.g., lack of re¬sources and time pressure) and emotional stress. Coping responses among the case managers included efforts to alter the problem, so called problem focused coping, efforts to control emo¬tions, so called emotions focused coping and social support from colleagues.

Huvudsyfte med studien var att se om det finns någon skillnad mellan könen avseende stress och copingstrategier. Även samband mellan coping och upplevd stress undersöktes. Försökspersonerna utgjordes av 13 män och 28 kvinnor. Den metod som använts för undersökningen var kvantitativ då syftet var att jämföra svaren inom urvalsgruppen med varandra. Dataanalys gjordes med t-test för oberoende grupper och med partiellkorrelation.

Bröstcancer är den vanligaste cancerformen bland kvinnor över hela världen. Sjukdomen leder till en förändrad livssituation där stress och ångest blir en del av vardagen. Coping bidrar till en ökad psykisk, fysisk och social förmåga att hantera och leva med en sjukdom. Vilken copingstrategi som används är individuellt och utvecklas med tiden beroende på hur sjukdomsbilden ser ut samt vilka erfarenheter individer har sedan tidigare. Syftet med studien var att belysa hur kvinnor med bröstcancer hanterar sin livssituation genom coping för att uppnå bättre livskvalitet.

Purpose: To examine the governance mechanisms and the competence PE-firms adds to theirholding companies through an active ownership in order to create growth.Methodology: A qualitative study with interviews as its main source of data.Theoretical perspectives: Corporate governance and relevant theories within that subjectsuch as agent theory, board of directors and management. Previous research within the subjectwill also be presented.Empirical foundation: The empirical foundation consists of three conducted interviews anddata collected from the chosen PE-firms as well as six different holding companies.Conclusions: The governance mechanisms used in the PE-firms we have chosen are stronglyrelated to both theories within corporate governance as well as previous research on thesubject. The governance mechanisms being used are an explicit owners agenda and strategy, athorough acquisition process, usage of external competence, active ownership through theboard of directors and the insertion of incentive systems..

The purpose of this study was to examine whether there was any connection between coping strategies; emotional and cognitive strategy and perceived level of stress among primary school teachers in primary and middle school. It was also investigated whether there was a difference between full-time and part-time employees and perceived level of stress. As a theoretical background Lazarus' transaction theory of stress was used as an explanation of mental stress, Lazarus coping strategies for stress and Karasek?s and Theorell?s model of psychosocial work environment was used to explain unhealthy at work. To measure coping we used Coping inventory resources and to measure the stress we used Percieved stress scale.

Syftet med detta examensarbete är att belysa vad som driver en människa att gå vidare i livet efter att ha fått ett besked om att han/hon har cancer och även olika copingstrategier som används för att hantera cancer. AbstractTitle: Welfare officers personal experiences of stress and coping in an emergency hospital in StockholmThe purpose with this study was to describe how welfare officers in an emergency hospital experienced stress in their workplace and what coping strategies they used. Through qualitative interviews the welfare officers thoughts and experiences were examined. The result showed that welfare officers experienced some stress at the workplace; this was related to lacks in the organization, heavy workload and short of time. The most commonly used coping strategies were social support, physical training, short breaks during the day to handle the stress at work. The conclusions of this study was that factors that reduces stress for welfare officers who work at emergency hospitals was a functioning organization and management, the ability to control and at some levels effect their own work, to have guidance and other opportunities to ventilate with co-workers.

The aim of this essay is to study diaries and letters from Swedish soldiers during the Great Nordic War, more specifically those written during the campaign 1707-1721 against Russia, in search of religious coping and religious parables. The theoretic framework is evolved around Kenneth Pargament?s theory about religious coping, and Ana-Maria Rizzuto?s theory about object relations. The method used can be described as hermeneutic.The questions at hand were:- How did Swedish soldiers during the war against Russia relate to God, and express image of God and religious concepts?- Did the soldiers express themselves in terms of spiritual coping and in that case to what extent?The conclusions were that the soldiers used religious coping as a method of survival.

Many organizational changes have been accomplished in elder care since the 1980's and many of those have been influenced by market mechanisms. The purpose of this study is to examine how the implementation of these market mechanisms has affected three important aspects in the work situation for personnel. These aspects are, demand, control and support. To attain the purpose of this study, five qualitative interviews with home care personnel have been carried out. The interview material has been analyzed and structured with the help of Karasek and Theorells demand-control-support model.

För att kunna anpassa sig och hantera situationen använder de sig av olika copingstrategier.
