Denna uppsats analyserar Sveriges agerande i tvistemålet mellan Sverige och Finland kring Ålands statstillhörighet under första världskriget och dettas omedelbara efterbörd. Mer specifikt behandlas frågan om varför Sverige valde att hänskjuta ärendet till internationell skiljedom genom fredskonferensen och sedermera NF ? en analys som tar sin utgångspunkt i Erik Palmstiernas upplevelser av skeendet och dennes agerande därefter. Erik Palmstierna var behörigt statsråd i frågan mellan 1917 och 1920 och blir fokus för denna undersökning som tar avstamp i en modifierad form av Jakob Gustavssons modell för utrikespolitiskt beslutsfattande. Denna kombinerar internationella och inrikespolitiska faktorer, vilka postuleras kunna påverka ett förlopp med en kognitiv faktor i en individuell beslutsfattare, sedan det först är genom mänsklig tolkning som ett skeende kan få betydelse och implikationer för en nationell handlingslinje..

The purpose of this paper is to investigate, analyse and interpret the educational ideals of the ABF (Workers Educational Association) as they are understood by five members within ABF. The paper also examines how the educational ideals are represented in the national guidelines and statues of the ABF. The basic theoretical perspectives are intercultural theory and theories about Bildung and adult liberal education in a multi-cultural pedagogical environment presented by Bernt Gustavsson and Hans Lorentz respectively.The empirical study consists of five semi-structured interviews and a text study of the official documents of the ABF. The data is interpreted with hermeneutic and semiotic tools. Organisational theory focusing on organizational culture has also contributed to the study.The result of the study, when analysed in accordance to the methods, shows mainly four things.

Ämnet som behandlas i denna uppsats är förnamnsutvecklingen i de två värmländska församlingarna Karlstad och Ekshärad. Det är två typer av utvecklingar som studerats. Dels hur många förnamn föräldrarna gav sina barn under perioden 1800-1920, dels vilka förnamn som gavs de nyfödda barnen mellan åren 1800-1859.Vad gäller hur många förnamn barnen fick så var det under hela 1800-talet stor skillnad mellan de båda församlingarna. I Karlstad fick en majoritet på mellan 60 och 80 procent av barnen två förnamn. I Ekshärad var det däremot mer vanligt att endast ge dem ett.

New Age has often been described as a religion pertaining to women and studies has shown that women do indeed constitute the vast majority. A reversal of hierarchy between feminine and masculine attributes and values, common in a modern western society, has also been shown to occur.This study looks at how the feminine is visible in written text and pictures depicting people, more specifically in the periodical magazine Free that has a circulation of circa 25,000. The main bulk of the magazine is advertisements, and one reoccurring part is the article Frimodigt where several of the magazine?s advertisers take part in a short interview. Twelve of these interviews have been analyzed, along with depictions of 518 people from three issues.The theoretical framework that has been applied to the outcome of my analysis has been social constructivism, with particular emphasis on the paper Doing gender by the professors of sociology Candace West and Don Zimmerman.My findings indicate that the feminine, indeed, is thought of as very positive and sometimes contrasted with the masculine.

In some postmodern philosophy and theology, the view of God has returned to the centre of the discussion. God is seen as a living reality beyond human conception. Some of the contemporary philosophers even relate to the negative or apofatic theology. They often do this as a contrast to the positive theology. The view of God in postmodern theology and philosophy is beyond our rational knowledge.

Just hennes livliga beskrivningar av livet på den engelska landsbygden runt år 1800 kryddade med en satirisk underton gör Austens romaner intressanta objekt för litteraturanalys. Trots att hennes texter är fast rotade i sin tid tycks de aldrig bli omoderna, vilket beror på att människor nu som då brottas med liknande problem och ställningstaganden. 200 år senare tvingas vi fortfarande fatta livsavgörande beslut som rör kärlek, pengar och status. En av hennes mest kända verk - Sense and Sensibility - publicerades 1811 och är en klassisk Austenroman som tar upp just problematiken kring dessa teman.

The purpose of this study is to analyze different aspects of a portraying of individuals from a time past. It is concentrated around questions about why it is important to show the people?s stories in, for example, exhibitions and under which conditions this would serve as a good use of history according to different theories about history and the portraying of it.I have chosen the theories of Freidrich Nietzsche and Georg Simmel as a tool to analyze different aspects of the portraying of people from the past. Nietzsche?s theory about the different ways in which we use the past and Simmels theory about the meeting between a viewer and a cultural experience.

In this study, my intention has been to examine how the ambiguous concept of corruption is constructed by the press. Emphasizing the media?s representations of the socially constructed and context-specific concept, this work adopts a critical perspective on discourse, together with an approach of conceptual history. Finland has for many years been appointed as one of the least corrupt countries in the world, signing several international conventions against corruption since the 1990s, which in turn has led to an increase in discussion regarding the phenomenon. By conducting a multi-method study, my aim has been to analyse the possible changes in the definition of ?corruption? in the Finnish newspaper Hufvudstadsbladet during the period 2000-2013.

The problem with keeping horses with to little social contact has come to attention in a new regulation that comes into effect august 1st 2009. It states that horses? need of social contact has to be accommodated. That?s why it feels important to try to survey the horse owners? awareness about the regulation and its present fulfillment.

Mainstream contemporary phenomenology understands the phenomenology of movement and dance through ?the lived body? of Merleau-Ponty. This paper rather suggests a phenomenology of movement and dance based on an understanding through ?the danced body? with ability to meta-feeling. It is here argued that we need to use a phenomenology of dance to understand the phenomenon of movement whatsoever.

The purpose of this essay has been to explore Alexander the Great from two different perspectives in Greece. The village Proti Serron represents the local area and the national area named Macedonia represents the second perspective. Oral history has been used as a method in addition to literature and trips to museums and archaeological places.As a guideline for the essay and its contents a stereotyped schedule has been created. This schedule is presented below, and it is also possible to read it backwards.The villagers who identify themselves with Alexander the Great from their local area Proti Serron which is a part of the national area named Macedonia.This study proves that the villagers who has been interviewed, identify themselves with the place they live in as well as its history and that they feel that it is their duty to pass this knowledge forward. Alexander the Great is described as intelligent, humble, a man of strength and courage as well as a strategist and sovereign.

Den övergripande frågeställningen som besvaras i uppsatsen är hur journalistiken i Dagens Nyheter och Göteborgs Posten handskas med informationen om vänsterpartiets och socialdemokraternas feministiska politik mellan år 1998 och år 2002.Studien har visat att de vanligaste argumenten emot socialdemokraternas feminism oftast är kopplade till partiets ledare Göran Persson. Journalistiken framställer socialdemokraternas feminism som ett spel i och med att Göran Persson uppges vara en ofrivillig feminist.I de fall där det framkommer argument för socialdemokraternas feminism är argumenten dubbelbottnade och innehåller oftast en outtalad kritik av mot partiets feminism eller bristen på en feministisk politik. De vanligast förekommande argumenten som journalistiken förmedlar för socialdemokraternas feminism handlar om att de vill förändra en tidigare förd politik. En politik som socialdemokraterna själva anser har missgynnat kvinnorna.Journalistiken förmedlade en mycket positiv bild av vänsterns feminism och det fanns mycket få argument emot deras feminism. Argumenten handlade om att feminismen var ett spel.  Det fanns ett mycket stort antal argument för vänsterns feminism och vänstern lyckades väl med att föra ut partiets feministiska politik genom journalistiken.

Title: Improvisation ? a pedagogical perspective. This investigation studies how church musicians and pianists describe the use of improvisation in their teaching. The research questions focus on the relationship between improvisation and interpretation, the aim how to use improvisation and how this could be realized. To get the answer of these questions, I have interviewed two organists and two pianists, all excellent in their profession.

I have, with a point of departure in two case studies; the artist, curator and scientist Andreas Gedin and Maria Lind, curator and director of Tensta konsthall, contextualized with a couple of respondents; the freelance curator, writer and editor Power Ekroth and the freelance curator and artist Carl Michael von Hausswolff, conducted a field analysis on curatorial and artistic practices. I have applied key concepts in order to conduct the analysis.Furthermore, the case studies and the respondents have been placed in a contemporary artworld. These components have been related to a contemporary historical segment of the artworld. This in turn, has been related to older, international cicumstances of change and various conditions in the two subfields. I have suggested certain a proximity in the artistic and curatorial practices.

The purpose of this Master?s thesis is to examine the portrayals of class in four Swedish contemporary novels that have been mentioned as working class literature in the literary public sphere. During the 20th century, society has undergone vast changes due to globalization and technology development. The rise in standards of living for most people in the Western societies has led to changed consumption patterns. In consequence, there has been increased emphasis given to cultural rather than materialist explanations of social stratification.
