Variationer i svensk verbböjning: En korpusundersökning (Fredrik Smeds, D-uppsats i Svenska språket, Karlstads universitet, Institutionen för kultur och kommunikation, Avdelningen för språk 2008). I uppsatsen undersöks svensk verbböjningsvariation från första hälften av 1800-talet till våra dagar dels genom studier av facklitteratur, ordböcker och ordlistor från skilda tider, dels genom att studera korpusar med skönlitteratur och brev skrivna av August Strindberg, äldre och yngre romaner samt dagstidningar från 1965?2004. De äldre romanerna är skrivna från första halvan av 1800-talet till första halvan av 1900-talet, och de yngre runt 1980. Materialet tillhandahölls av Språkdata vid Göteborgs universitet och omfattar ca 126 miljoner ord.

Syftet med den här studien är att studera självmordet komparativt mellan Kyrkefalla i Västra Götaland och staden Linköping mellan åren 1800-1921. Den här tidsperioden var en mist sagt händelserik period i svensk historia. Man gick mot en allt högre sekularisering, demokratisering samt en folkökning. Självmordet kom dessutom att avkriminaliseras 1864 vilket kan vara en av annledningarna till att allt fler självmord uppmärksammas i kyrkböckerna. Vidae visar den här studien att självmordens frekvens tenderar att öka under tidens gång, både i Kyrkefalla och i Linköping.

I have in this essay looked at what stand NWT took to the three leading countries in The First World War, Germany, France and England, and if it changed during the course of the war.I worked based on the theory that NWT, as a politically conservative newspaper was pro-Germany, which also showed to be true.I have look at the official stand, what is shown in the published material, what stand that the newspaper showed outwards. The result shows that NWT held a neutral stand during the war being loyal to the conservative government. At the end of the war the papers sympathies for Germany are shown more openly in its political material..

This Masters thesis concerns a series of ten police procedural novels, Roman om ett brott, Novel of a crime, by Maj Sjöwall and Per Wahlöö. These books are among the most translated Swedish novels and have been popular among audiences and critics all over the world. The books were produced 1965 1975, a period during which a left wing movement swept over the Western world. Besides from being detective stories Novel of a crime is an analysis of contemporary society, and this thesis will focus on the social and political ideas and the criticism expressed in the books. Theories used in this study are the Sociology of Literature and the Analysis of Ideas.

This bachelor thesis examines the activities and values associated with automation and technical development at four Swedish research libraries. It does so by applying textual analysis to annual reports and job advertisements from the respective libraries. The study also questions whether some assumptions of automation have changed or remain over time, and includes a short historical discussion in relation to the contemporary analysis. As an added perspective it introduces the methods and philosophies of French sociologist Bruno Latour. The author reflects on the merits of Latour in research of library automation.

Uppsatsen syfte var att studera spädbarnsdödlighet i tre olikartade västsvenska miljöer under två perioder på 1800-talet. Områdena är Bollebygd, Morlanda och Karl Johans församling i Göteborg och representerar alla olika miljöer (Bollebygd ? landsbygd, Morlanda ? kust och Karl Johan - stadsmiljö) där spädbarnsdödligheten enligt tidigare forskning har varit av olika omfattning och karaktär. Den primära frågeställningen är hur de yttre omständigheterna påverkar de allra minsta barnen. Ett sekundärt syfte var att försöka utröna vilka uppfödningsvanor som var dominerande.

I slutet av 1800-talet inträffade en tätortstillväxt, vilket bidrog till ökade krav på en bra kommunikation mellan stad och landsbygd. I de städer som låg i närheten av ett vattendrag uppstod det färjtrafik och därefter byggdes en bro. Jag har undersökt Bergnäsets utveckling, vilket är ett samhälle beläget ca 1 km från staden Luleå, med Lule älv som avskiljande vattendrag. Det var i slutet av 1800-talet som Bergnäset började befolkas i samband med färjtrafiken in till staden. Detta ledde till att näringsidkare och invånare började bosätta sig vid denna del av samhället.

In this essay, I explore the history of the ideas that have shaped the profession of landscape architecture, in a Swedish context. To this purpose, I have sampled the professional debate on landscape architecture at four points in time. These are the years around 1890, 1930, 1970 and 2010. Drawing on G N Brandt (1920), I make the distinction between two arguably crucial approaches, i . e., naturalism and formalism. By identifying these perspectives, and by dividing the arguments of each time period according to this classification, I am able to compare the course of the debate over time. I take on the task through hermeneutics.

The aim of this research is to examine the Göteborg International Film Festival Fund (GIFFF, 1998?2011) as a part of the festival's overall operations, to provide answers to questions about if/how the Fund can be understood as an expression of the festival's fundamental values, and how the Fund can be recognized within the festival's strategic development. The GIFFF is also discussed in relation to contemporary academic studies that interpret Western film funds for the developing countries ? such as Hubert Bals Fund and Fond Sud Cinéma ? as an expression of Eurocentrism.The investigation is based on the contemporary film festival research, previous academic studies on Göteborg International Film Festival, the festival?s printed material ? such as programs and press releases ? as well as interviews with the former festival director Gunnar Bergdahl, who initiated the Fund, and festival editor Ulf Sigvardson, who ran the Fund during its final years of existence.The conclusions are: The Fund's objectives ? such as to support filmmakers and film schools in the developing countries, and also to screen their films at the festival ? can be seen as a broader interpretation of the vision that was determined by the festival founders, that the festival should be a platform for independent filmmaking and also help screen the films that otherwise would not reach the Swedish audience. Also, the Fund was a significant part of the festival's expansion strategies during the 1990s.

I det här arbetet har jag undersökt hur man kan använda sig av konst i en ämnesintegrerad undervisning med syfte att uppnå målen i historia och bild i grundskolans senare år. För att nå detta mål har jag utvecklat ett undervisningsmaterial med målningar från 1800-talets s.k. genremåleri för att visualisera det svenska bondesamhället under 1800-talet. Min undersökning bygger på en tolkning av styrdokumentens möjligheter samt elevers, i en klass i årskurs åtta vid en skola i norra Dalarna åsikter om historia och bild i integrering med hjälp av konst. Undersökningen visade att historieämnet och bildämnet mycket väl gick att integrera med varandra i syftet att uppnå målen för dessa båda.

The purpose of this study is to examine modern constructions of Jane Austens work in films and in books on history of literature. The theoretical framework contains sociology of literature, cultural studies and film theory. I compared Jane Austens books Emma, Pride and prejudice and Sense and sensibility with three film versions from recent years. In the books on history of literature I studied, I found three different attitudes towards history of literature, which also influenced the interpretation of Austens novels. The stories in Austens books and in the films are similar.

The aftermath of colonization, culture diversity and the recognition of the ownidentity - living in a country which has the role of a former colonizer has got consequences in the multicultural French society. These consequences can be seen studying the politics, the education and the history of that country. In this bachelorthesis I discuss the aftermath of French colonization with a focus on how the French cultural identity can be explained in defining colonialism in French lawmaking. The aim is to understand the definition of the own cultural identity from a postcolonial perspective and what meaning the multicultural society has for this definition. This is an issue which can be seen in politics as well as ineveryday life, and to make an understanding of it, I study how French politicians are representing their country's role as a former colonizer in a postcolonial era.

During the late 19: th century the park Tivoli in Halmstad, today called Norre Katts park, was known as one of the most beautiful amusementparks of southern Sweden. This is a description that hardly anyone would use to portray the park today. The aim of this study is therefore to investigate what the park once looked like and how it has changed until today?s neglected state. The history of the place and by who and for whom the park with; 4 ½ acers with meandering paths, caves, an avenue, leaf halls and bowers, was created. Who designed the park in the year of 1843 is an unrequited question.

Uppsatsen utgår från ett historiematerialistiskt perspektiv för att studera Tågerup. Tågerup är en stenåldersboplats i Skåne, öster om Landskrona. På platsen har det funnits Kongemose- och Ertebøllekultur. Uppsatsens frågeställningar är: Hur såg arbetsuppdelningen mellan kvinnor och män ut? Hur var familjerna sammansatta?Finns det några skillnader mellan hur historiematerialister tolkar arbetsuppdelningen och de sociala relationerna jämfört med de arkeologer som har arbetat med Tågerup?De historiematerialistiska teorierna utgår dels från Marx och Engels och dels från arkeologer och antropologer som har vidareutvecklat deras teorier.

During the 21st century, Society has again begun to focus its attention on working class literature and on issues related to social class. In the media contemporary working class literature is often mentioned as a distinct phenomenon. I my view, the meaning of this phenomenon have not been adequately formulated. The aim of this Master?s Thesis is to reconstruct, using a discourse oriented text analysis, a picture of how the contemporary working class literature is described in today?s society.
