The present state of politics in contemporary Venezuela portrays a country of polarization, a chase for power and accusations of authoritarian and even undemocratic rule. The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to examine the democracy in Venezuela, in order to clarify the sometimes vauge perception of the political situation. By applying the theories of polyarchical democracy put forth by Robert Dahl, one of the most highly regarded theorists on the subject, accordingly the discussion will therefore follow a theoretical framework. Dahl requires seven nstitutions to be guaranteed in a democracy, amongst them the possibility to vote, run for public office and the practise of freedom of speech. Measuring Dahl's levels of institutions in Venezuela, it is made clear that the level of democracy vary in different areas.

I denna uppsats genomförs en empirisk analys av den svenska skivmarknaden och den nedgång i skivförsäljningen som skett under senare år. Fokus ligger på att undersöka om nedgången orsakats av illegal fildelning, eller om andra faktorer kan ligga bakom. Analysen sker genom en genomgång av relevanta aggregerade data för skivförsäljning, videoförsäljning, internetanvändande m.m. En enkel ekonometrisk analys görs också, och sammantaget visar resultaten att den växande konkurrensen från DVD-film troligen är en viktig orsak till den minskade skivförsäljningen. Inga tydliga bevis för att fildelningen haft en signifikant påverkan hittas.

The main issue of this master is to investigate what influence the phenomenon of postmodernity has on the Swedish public library. Is it possible to talk about the Swedish public library as postmodern, and if so, is it expressed by a postmodern discourse? The concept of postmodernity is defined as an open and inclusive value system where all kind of opinions and preferences take place. According to a postmodern point of view there is no such thing as an objective or general truth. A postmodern ideology does not talk about reality but about realities.

This Masters thesis concerns a series of ten police procedural novels, Roman om ett brott, Novel of a crime, by Maj Sjöwall and Per Wahlöö. These books are among the most translated Swedish novels and have been popular among audiences and critics all over the world. The books were produced 1965 1975, a period during which a left wing movement swept over the Western world. Besides from being detective stories Novel of a crime is an analysis of contemporary society, and this thesis will focus on the social and political ideas and the criticism expressed in the books. Theories used in this study are the Sociology of Literature and the Analysis of Ideas.

The goal of this project was to create the music video for swedish pop/rockband Antennas? single Youngbloods, from their album Feeling Feline Tonight(2009). The video was made through animation, collages, photography andillustration. The main focus for the video was to create an independent visualstory and to implement an investigation of how different technics for creatingand documenting images and motion result in different interpretations of thecontent. The work was characterized by an active search for contrasts andcontradictions.My approach to the project was to work with a child?s curiosity, but withthe discipline of an adult.

One of the most distinguishing features of contemporary globalisation is production fragmentation, a splitting up of the manufacturing of a good into several different stages. Production fragmentation creates new opportunities through vertical specialization; a country incapable of mastering the entire production process may specialize in the manufacturing of one separate part. The aim of this thesis is to examine to what extent international integration affects a country?s ability to engage in vertical specialization in an industry characterized by production fragmentation. The analysis focuses on the european integration process over the last decade, where countries in eastern Europe with relatively low labour costs have been integrated with more capital abundant western economies.

Som examensarbete har jag producerat en film om Cannabis. En pilot om 22 minuter avsedd att användas som pitch inför en större dokumentär.I piloten har jag intervjuat fyra personer med olika erfarenheter och åsikter kring ämnet. Professor Ted Goldberg, professor Fred Nyberg, socialsekreterare Helene Adamee och en före detta cannabismissbrukare.Dessa intervjuer har jag därefter redigerat ihop till en pilot som tar upp ämnen som varför ungdomar börjar röka cannabis, det faktum att det pågår en förändring inom den globala drogpolitiken som kan få konsekvenser för Sverige, samt olika åsikter kring vår aktuella narkotikapolitik.     Jag spelar själv en aktiv roll i piloten som en journalist, och före detta cannabismissbrukare, som nu är på jakt efter svaren till de frågor mitt missbruk genererat..

In this essay I compare the description of the Thirty Years? War in a number of German and Swedish encyclopedias published between 1854 and 2005. The essay is a historiographical research with focus on three areas; the description of the war background, the reason of the Swedish intervention in the war and the picture of the Swedish king Gustav II Adolf with the consequences of the war and the peace of Westphalia. I want to analyze the differences and similarities in the way the history is being told in the German and Swedish encyclopedias. The research shows a transformation from a narrative, nationalistic, partial description with focus on individuals and specific events to a more analytical and objective description with focus on structures.

Detta arbete undersöker hur man kan bearbeta och formulera upplevelser av en film med hjälp av figural analys. Denna analys har jag hittat i filmvetenskapens fält. Syftet är att med hjälp av denna vidga filmens möjligheter som verktyg i skolan. Tillsammans med en fenomenologisk ansats och gestaltande metod söker jag en didak-tisk metod/upplägg för elever att formulera upplevelser, som ett komplement till tra-ditionell filmanalys.Med utgångspunkt i Svenska filminstitutets filmhandledningar konstaterar jag vad som inte behandlas när man i skolan ser en film. I filmhandledningarna uppmanas eleverna till en diskussion från frågor som rör värdegrunden, och upplevelsen av filmens bilder lämnas därhän.

The aim of this paper was to discover the functions and workings of personal networks and their advantages for self-employed sound designers and producers whose focus was upon the moving image (film, advertising, tv, etc). Investigations on how entrepreneurs develop their networks were made, as well as inquiries on how these networks are used for generating work. Another important aspect perused was whether or not the networks are dependent on specific geographical locations in order to function. A case study and comparative analysis was undertaken, based upon three qualitative interviews with entrepreneurs whose operations shared several similar characteristics. The results pointed out the importance of constantly making new contacts, and maintaining and managing current ones.

Innehåll: Frågorna som jag ställer i min uppsats handlar om att få kunskap om vad som kän-netecknar elever med positiv inställning till läsning, men även hur dessa upplever den skönlit-terära läsningen av den utvalda romanen i skolan. Det klassiska problemet i svenskundervis-ningen handlar oftast om att elever inte vill läsa skönlitteratur. I denna uppsats belyser jag den motsatta sidan av detta mynt. De elever som deltagit i studien tillhör de som är positiva till skönlitterär läsning och uppvisar goda resultat i samband med den delen av svenskämnet. In this essay, I explore the history of the ideas that have shaped the profession of landscape architecture, in a Swedish context. To this purpose, I have sampled the professional debate on landscape architecture at four points in time. These are the years around 1890, 1930, 1970 and 2010. Drawing on G N Brandt (1920), I make the distinction between two arguably crucial approaches, i . e., naturalism and formalism. By identifying these perspectives, and by dividing the arguments of each time period according to this classification, I am able to compare the course of the debate over time. I take on the task through hermeneutics.

The aim of this paper is to perform a comparative study between the photography?s of Leila Khaled and Shirin Neshat in order to observe if the woman are able to recede from an conventional formation to become the bearer of the veil and not only reduced to that whichneeds to be concealed. From a feministic perspective I have observed how the symbolic of the veil moulds the woman and how the woman in her context moulds the veil.In the description of the news photography of Khaled and the art photography produced by Neshat the mechanisms that lies as a foundation for the modelling of the portraits becomesthe essays primary entrance. I detta examensprojekt står de allmänna valen till riksdag, landstingoch kommun i centrum, och problematiken med detminskade intresset för dessa.I syfte att öka kännedom och engagemang om valet hos förstagånsväljarna,som är den grupp med lägst valdeltagande i senareval, har målet varit att färdigställa två informativa och underhållandefilmsekvenser.Längderna på filmerna har begränsats till en minut respektivetio?femton sekunder, då det tänkta forumet för filmerna ärtiden som finns mellan programblocken i TV, vanligtvis fylld medreklam eller trailers.Efterforskningar om valet och berörda myndigheters roll ochpolicy, samt analys av formgivning relaterad till, eller liknande mittprojekt har lagt en grund för konceptframtagandet.Den praktiska fasen har bestått av arbete med manus, storyboard,animatic, animation, testvisning, ljudinspelning, och efterproduktion,och resulterat i två filmsekvenser..

Vart står vi och vårat förhållande till trovärdighet i en medial värld i ständig utveckling? Hur är det med det digitala inflytandet i en analog värld? Vad händer med upplevelsen och trovärdigheten i dokumentära filmsammanhang när bilden är animerad?Med hjälp utav två informationsmässigt likvärdiga filmer undersöks hur graden av trovärdighet upplevs i en animerad dokumentär kortfilm, i förhållande till en version med fotografisk bild. Ett antal respondenter får se filmerna och svara på tillhörande frågor i en enkätundersökning vars resultat redovisas och diskuteras i en större analys. Med hjälp av undersökningens resultat avgörs huruvida frågeställningen går att besvara samt vad dess slutsats föreslås ha för betydelse i framtida forskning inom ämnet..
