En kartl?ggning av inv?ndiga f?nsterluckors utbredning och konstruktion
Interior window shutters can be found in historical buildings, but they are an uncommon occurrence in
modern buildings. In modern contemporary construction, large glass panels are often the ideal because
of increased light inflow and for architectural purposes. However, this can generate several negative
effects, such as increased energy loss, lack of privacy and high sunlight penetration. Problems that
window shutters could have accommodated historically.
This thesis identifies a lack of knowledge about interior window shutters in the Swedish building
stock.

Inramning av klimatförändringar : I svensk dagspress 2012 och bland unga vuxna
Something that all people have come across and more or less experienced is climate change. Climate change in itself is a very complex problem since there are no borders between countries that can stop the problem. The link between science and the public is largely in the hands of the media, since the media play an important role in defining environmental issues and to inform the public about research findings. In recent years, reports from the media showed a slightly skeptical and uncertain picture of this problem. This is despite the largely prevailing consensus among climate scientists that there is an anthropogenic climate change.
Användare och användning : av information och handlingar i moderna polisorganisationer
This study examines use and users of information and records originating in the context of a contemporary police organisation. This area of research has only been of focus for a relatively few researchers. This in contrast to use and users of historical archives which has been in centre for more studies. The research questions addressed are:- what user categories use the records of the authority- which are the ways of contacting the authority preferred by the users- which are the identifiers provided by the users and how well are they matched by the search artefacts available to the staff of the authority- what information and records are sought-after by the users. For comparing the identifiers provided to the search artefacts has been selected the two most frequently used registry systems within the authority.
Samtalets helgd. En rekonstruktion av den svenska elitens demokratisyn
Democracy is said to uphold the dearest values and be the most moral system. But it cannot be characterized as a rigid "syste" but a continuously changing political framework, under which aims and values can be fulfilled - and replaced. The increasingly diverse and ever-changing environment of contemporary democracies forces change upon the systems' natural evolution, which makes their future features uncertain and unforeseeable. A powerful change-force doctrine does however claim change is mainly (or merely) caused by the power of ideas; the elite power over ideas can thus provide a natural foundation for the analysis of the direction of development for democracy. This study aims to provide such a foundation by reconstructing empirical and normative descriptions of democracy at two certain points in time, following extensive government studies. As a tool for analysis, this study identifies values of substantial and procedural character central to democracy theory and discourse. It further creates ideal types of democracy based on these values, to which the nature of democracy is measured.
Den övertygande reklamen? : En analys av Pripps Blå och Norrlands Gulds reklambilder
Modern societies are generally becoming increasingly capitalist in nature and economies of these societies are thus likely to become more focused on consumer consumption. Advertising plays a vital role in contemporary society where we, as consumers and citizens, are surrounded by it everywhere we look and everywhere we go. This puts pressure on advertisers to become more creative and to explore new ways of marketing their products and services in an already saturated environment. We believe that the added pressure and the already established role of marketing in society make advertisements an interesting and telling object for analysis. This is particularly the case with regards to the concept of selling and marketing products that have qualities that are known to be less than beneficial for our health. This paper analyzes four commercial advertisements marketing beer; a product that we argue has qualities that can be seen as potentially bad for the health of individuals and for societies.
Geopolitisk dynamik : Ett teoriutvecklande anspråk
In the social sciences, geopolitical theory is used in order to analyze states actions and commitments when it comes to foreign policy. This thesis develops a new understanding of geopolitical theory. Firstly, the development and application of geopolitical theory, from its foundations in the early twentieth century to contemporary geopolitical studies is discussed. Secondly a revised understanding of the variables integrated in the concept and how it can be operationalized as an analytical tool is presented and tested empirically. The critical assessment of the research field of geopolitical theory tells us that six different geopolitical perspectives have been considered the most influential (room, strategy, power projection, identity, affiliation and governance) when it comes to analyzing state action. This model is applied as an analytical tool and thus tested on a single case.
Sara Wennerberg-Reuter : att vara kvinna och kompositör kring sekelskiftet 1800 / 1900
This essay presents an example of the musical life of a female composer active in Sweden during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Through a case study on composer Sara Wennerberg-Reuter (1875-1959), the essay contributes information to her biography, which had been lacking specific details.Wennerberg-Reuter's biography has been discussed regarding traditional roles of women in music, her relationship to her own artistry and other active women composers, and finally the contemporary reception of Wennerberg-Reuter as a legitimate composer. Aesthetical theories prevalent during Wennerberg-Reuter?s life has been applied in these discussions, such as those presented by Citron, Öhrström and Hanson, combined with Citron's additional theories considering masculine/feminine elements in the musical approach. The main conclusions reached regarding the specific conditions enabling a professional status as a composer and woman in Sweden during the given time are;a) the liberal permission by the family to pursue higher education in composing, since this was in opposition to the traditions of the time.b) the access to a network of musically active women, from which a sense of being part of a female community can be created.c) the acceptance from musical institutions such as higher educations, composer's societies and media critics..
Dödsgott med käk i kistan : En GCMS- och FTIR-analys av kermik från ett vikingatida gravfält i Alsike hage, Alsike sn, Uppland
This paper deals with the connection between food and burial habits during the late Iron Age in present-day Sweden. The archaeological material used in the study consists of 16 potsherds from a burial site at Alsike hage, Alsike parish, in the province of Uppland in east-central Sweden. On these potsherds have been conducted FTIR- and GCMS-analyses, in order to see what types of food have been deposited in the burials. Furthermore, the result of the GCMS-analyses has been compared to contemporary material from both burial sites and settlement sites, in order to establish whether differences between the compared materials exist. The analyses show that there are differences between the material from burial sites compared with the material from settlement sites, but not any particular differences between the material from different burial sites.

Andlighet och religiositet på Fryshuset : en inblick i en senmodern och global förändringskontext
The aim of this study is to investigate the components of religion and spirituality in the specific context of "Fryshuset" ? a multicultural and glocal arena. Against the backdrop of contemporary researchers such as Heelas and Woodhead and their hypothesis about the "spiritual revolution" and a "new spirituality", as well as the postmodern discussion about "the return of God", this study discusses how religious change can be understood in the context of Fryshuset. The theoretical point of departure is taken in a hermeneutical method where Fleck´s theory about "thought-collective" and Gidden´s theory about the "duality of structure" are used in order to understand and describe the dialectical relationship between individual and social structure. The method used in this study is qualitative. The interviews are made of six individuals representing different social projects at Fryshuset.By analyzing the material from the field study through theories on religious change, three areas are identified:"The subjective turn"Religion and spiritualityA Cosmopolitan interpretation of life The result of this study is that the religiosity among the interviewed can be described through Taylor?s understanding of the "subjective turn".

Att vara eller inte vara motiverad och kreativ i teaterprojektmiljö : En undersökning av motivationsfaktorer och kreativitet i en teaterorganisation.
Abstract Project as a method was defined in the American defense industry in the 1950´s and has since then developed to encompass many different areas such as industrial management, administration, research and development and IT etc. In the cultural sector project is a common way of organizing work and within theatre, which is the focus of this study, one can claim that project as a form of work has been used for hundreds of years, if not by definition.Theatre is generally assumed to be an form of art representing creativity and innovation, highly demanding from an individual perspective relative to the project result, i.e. the final performance. Time pressure, fierce competition, limited resources and responsibility to deliver on time with high quality are natural conditions given. The aim of the study is to find out what circumstances and conditions affect and have a clear impact on motivation and creativity in those working professionally within theatre. This study is based upon qualitative interviews with a limited number of employees with different occupations, within a major publicly-funded Swedish theatre institution.Contemporary research indicates both intrinsic and extrinsic motivation as essential for how we experience and commit ourselves to our work, either as two separate forces but also as they interact.Extensive studies further state our individual experience from work, the conditions provided by the organization and social environment as crucial to our work performance. A positive experience from these factors enhance our motivation and creativity. The results of this study show theatre to be an activity supported by strong visions and clear goals where challenge and creativity are essential and where it´s members show strong commitment to the task whether they are beside or on the stage..
