SUMMARYPrevious research has shown that there is a connection between the doorways and postoperative wound infections. Despite recommendations from Socialstyrelsen and the individual hospitals' PM there is still high traffic in the operating theatres. In a hybrid theatre environment combined X-ray techniques of surgery, resulting in it being further two categories inside the operating theatre. This may generate an increase in traffic flow. The study is a prospective, non-participant observation study conducted in the spring of 2013 at a university hospital in western Sweden.

In the United States, see recommendations for cardiac safety of sports arenas but also to health and fitness facilities. However, this does not exist in Sweden today. Objective: The purpose of this study is to identify the health- and fitness facilities today are equipped with respect to cardiac safety and specifically relating to preparedness for cardiac arrest. Method: Quantitative data are collected and compiled with the help of a questionnaire. The questionnaire contained 19 questions in total.

In the project, my ambition was to make a stage design for theater withteenagers as target group. I have worked with the musical theater groupTheater ACTA in Gothenburg and independently from scripts, interpretedand shaped an outline for the basis of the set design of the play?s differentelements. The play, If this was a feel-good movie, is written by Elin Frostand Anna Lundholm, two members of Theater ACTA. The story is aboutthree people in their twenties with different relationships to each other andone week that would change their lives.

Introduction: Balance between the essential nutritive substances is important for aperson to maintain health. The surgical patient can be stricken with conditions, whichhave a negative impact on this balance and can lead to malnutrition. Working as a nurseit is important to identify patients that are malnourished or is in the risk zone ofmalnourishment since 30 % of all patients in hospitals are malnourished.Aim: The aim of this study was to examine the compliance to the guidelines fornutritional assessment and parenteral nutrition on a surgical ward. Also whether thenutritional treatment/-support was reported to the next caregivers if the patient wasmalnourished or was in the risk zone of malnourishment at the time of discharge.Method: 80 patients enrolled on the ward in the beginning of year 2011 were included.Audit of patient records was made according to the hospital guidelines for nutrition andparenteral nutrition and followed a study specific protocol.Results: The examination of the case records showed that the guidelines for nutritionwere partly complied with. Nutritional treatment/-support was reported to the nextcaregivers when needed.

Aim: To investigate the quality of life and the social life situation, with special focus on the consequenses of fear of hypoglycemia (FoH), in Islet transplanted patients.Method: 11 patients were included, four women and seven men, who have been Islet tranplanted at Uppsala University Hospital during the years 2001-2009. Two questionaires, Short Form 36 (SF-36) and the Swedish version Hypoglycemia Fear Survey (Swe-HFS) were used to investigate the quality of life, in relation to fear of hypoglycemia. Also, telephone interviews were conducted to investigate the patients social life situation in relation to FoH, after Islet transplantation and were analysed using content analysis method.Results: The mean value for quality of life was lower than that in the normal population. Three out of ten patients experienced FoH. Three predominant themes were revealed, one theme associated with pre- transplant, was ?Struggle for control of Social Life Situation? and two themes associated with post-transplant, were ?Regain power and controll of  Social Life Situation? and ?At Peace with the balance between the Present and the Future?.Conclusion: The patients experienced improved control over social life situation and quality of life in relation to FoH may been improved following islet tranplantation..

Introduction: The population of Sweden has during the last century doubled. An increased live expectancy results in an older population and the share needing medical care increases. Demographic and political changes in developed counties have resulted in changed demands on the care of the elderly. The elderly are discharged from hospital earlier and this results a significant responsibility on the elderly themselves and their relatives. Often the relatives are engaged in the elderly?s health problems, care needs and the future consequences the current situation results in for the elderly and the domestic life.

Syftet med studien är att göra en kartläggning över hur svenska skådespelares fysiska och psykiska hälsostatus ser ut hösten 2009. De områden som undersöks är depression, ångest, sömn, stress, arbetslöshet och hälsopåverkan, hörselproblem och tinnitus, samt alkohol- och droganvändning. En länk till en webbenkät med frågor från Hospital anxiety and depression scale, Perceived stress scale, Nationell undersökning om hörsel, yrsel och tinnitus samt Swedish longitudinal occupational survey of health 2006 skickades till medlemmar i Teaterförbundets skådespelaravdelning. 533 deltagare svarade på de inledande frågorna och 425 deltagare slutförde hela enkäten.Resultaten visar på förekomst av depression och ångest av klinisk betydelse, förekomst av sömnbesvär, samt förekomst av hög till mycket hög upplevd stress och prestationsbaserat självförtroende. Deltagarna upplever negativa konsekvenser av arbetslöshet.

Background: When a child ends up in a hospital the whole family will be affected. The family?s situation can be turned upside down and the daily life can be affected. The nurse needs to have a holistic approach when caring for the child and the rest of the family. For the nurse to be able to provide personalized information and care, they need a relationship with the child and family.

Bakgrund: Vårdplatserna på svenska sjukhus har minskat drastiskt det senaste decenniet.  Detta har inneburit en högre beläggning på de kvarvarande och medfört längre väntetid på landets akutmottagningar. Platsbristen skapar, ibland dagliga, överbeläggningar och utlokaliseringar av patienter.Syfte: Att undersöka hur sjuksköterskor och läkare upplever att vårdplatssituationen påverkar deras arbete och vad detta får för konsekvenser för patienterna.Metod: Kvalitativ design med semistrukturerade intervjuer med tre läkare och nio sjuksköterskor från akutvårdsavdelning med inriktning infektion, mottagning med akutintag och akutmottagning. Analysarbetet genomfördes med Malteruds (2009) innehållsanalys. Resultat: Vårdplatssituationen kommer sig av en brist på vårdplatser inom främst medicindivisionen, samt en oförmåga att hålla de platser som finns öppna på grund av sjuksköterskebrist. Bristen på vårdplatser har inneburit en oförmåga för läkare och sjuksköterskor att utföra sitt arbete i enlighet med sin kompetens och beprövad erfarenhet.Slutsats: Svårigheterna med att finna platser till patienterna på deras hemavdelningar samt de ständiga omflyttningarna av patienter medför svårigheter för vårdpersonalen att ge god medicinsk vård och omvårdnad vilket medför stora risker för patientsäkerheten.

INTRODUCTION: Attempted suicide is very common. Those who arrive to a hospital by reason of attempted suicide need a nurse with qualifications in the care of suicidal patients. OBJECTIVE: The aim of this study was to compile and elucidate research which describes how patients in care for their attempted suicide experience the care that is received. METHOD: A literature review was chosen for this study. Scientific articles sought in the database CINAHL.

Bristen på insikt känns påtaglig under ett möte med en högt uppsatt tjänsteman inom Pärnu Development Department. Denna problematik skall dock inte förlöjligas utan måste sättas i relation till de omständigheter som skapat den.De tidigare socialistiskt präglade staterna har varit tvungna att anpassa sig till markandsekonomin med förändrade efterfrågemönster och nya konkurrenssituationer. Dessa förhållanden kan verka självklara för ett västeuropeiskt land, men för ett post- kommunistiskt land där marknadsföring och destinationsutveckling i princip inte existerat, var de här förutsättningarna något nytt.

BB som verksamhet har förändrats över tid och är idag en plats där familjen skall kunna vila ut efter förlossningen, i en lugn och trygg miljö. Att fadern på olika sätt är delaktig kring sitt barn främjar faderskapet. Syftet med studien var att beskriva förstagångsfäders upplevelser av delaktighet på BB efter en normal förlossning. För att undersöka fenomenet valdes en deskriptiv, fenomenologisk metod enligt Giorgi. Halvstrukturerade intervjuer genomfördes med tio förstagångsfäder i åldrarna tjugotre till fyrtioett år.

Neurography is the most objective and reliable measure of the peripheral nerve function, and it is used to diagnose both local and generalized neuropathies. Neurography can measure both motor and sensory nerve functions. The principle for sensory neurgraphy is to stimulate over the nerve and record proximal or distal from the stimulated electrode.At the Department of Clinical Neurophysiology, University Hospital Uppsala, a problem has been identified, in that young adult patients tend to show unexpected abnormal neurography values in relation to the expected, indicated by the reference limits, without clinical correlates. This concerns foremost the sensory amplitudes in median and ulnar nerves. The hypothesis is that the requirement of young adults? amplitudes is too high.

BAKGRUND: Sömn är ett mänskligt behov som behövs för kroppens läkning. Patienterupplever ofta att sömnen inte blir tillfredsställd på sjukhus. Faktorer som uppges ge endålig sömn på sjukhus är miljön, kroppslig och emotionell påverkan hos patienten samtsjuksköterskans arbete. Det är viktigt att sjuksköterskan har kunskaper om åtgärder somfrämjar patienters sömn.SYFTE: Syftet är att beskriva åtgärder som sjuksköterskan kan tillämpa för att främjapatienters sömn på sjukhus.METOD: En litteraturstudie där tio vetenskapliga artiklar analyserades. Datainsamlingenoch analysförfarandet utgick från Fribergs (2006) modell för litteraturöversikter.RESULTAT: Ur analysen framkom fyra teman; beröring, avkoppling genom att lyssna påmusik, reducering av ljud och ljus samt att tillgodose patientens individuella önskemål ochfysiologiska behov.

The aim of the present study was to gain a deeper understanding of the experiences of the contact with the ?fear of childbirth?-team (called Aurora-team) made by women who feared childbirth. Qualitative content analyses according to Graneheim and Lundman was used to analyse 91 womens own written notes made at the end of a questionnaire which (with a quantitative approach) evaluated the counseling made by the Aurora-team at a hospital in the south of Sweden. The following five categories developed during the analyses; experience of the conversation, not knowing creates fear, thoughts regarding mode of delivery, the importance of how the birth plan is managed and the personnel´s standpoint regarding fear of childbirth. These categories can be seen as parts of the themes of experiences which made the fear of childbirth easier or which made it worse.
