The rise in prevalence and severity of obesity and related diseases imposes increasing costs on society. The objective of this thesis is to discuss and estimate the possible effects of a so-called fat tax as a tool for minimizing these costs. Two alternatives for differentiation of the value-added tax (VAT) on food are compared. The first alternative is an increase of the VAT levied on food containing saturated fatty acids. The second alternative is a subsidy on fruit and vegetables in the form of a VAT at zero percent, instead of today?s twelve percent.

The Swedish processor Findus contracts approximately 500 pea producers annually to secure the company?s supply of green peas for human Consumption. Denna utveckling fortgår även inomfartygens hjälpsystem, det vill säga hydrauliska och pneumatiska pumpar, vridmotorer ochkolvar ersätts med elektriskt drivna aktuatorer. Orsaken till att man driver denna utveckling ärbland annat att minska utstrålat buller, minska energiförbrukning, minskaunderhållskostnader, öka livslängden och öka flexibiliteten i design av fartyg.Syftet med detta självständiga arbete är att utreda vilka tekniskt/taktiska fördelar Sverige kanfå om vi driver utvecklingen av svenska ubåtar mot AES. Detta självständiga arbete kommeratt begränsa sig till ett fåtal av de system som finns ombord på en ubåt och undersöka omdagens hydrauliska system kan ersättas med elektriskt drivna aktuatorer utifrån degrundläggande förmågorna ledning, underrättelser, verkan, rörlighet, uthållighet och skydd.Metoden som används för att analysera dessa eventuella fördelar med en utveckling av ubåtarmot AES är en analys av texter, denna analys bygger på ett kvalitativt tänkande.

With this perspective, we have in this bachelor thesis in the Building Environment at theRoyal Institute of Technology, KTH, in Stockholm decided to focus on the renewable energysource, solar energy.The energy from solar radiation is a free resource and does not have any negative effects uponthe environment.

It is found that the properties of the record years of 1965-1975 is leaking a lot of energy andthese properties are facing a major energy efficiency. From the energy aspect, the facade isafflicted with poor thermal insulation which is a big problem. To address this problem addinginsulation is a good alternative to reduce overall energy Consumption of a building. Thewindows on these buildings are also a problem from the energy point of view. Therefore,there are many reasons considered for energy upgrading.

This is a bachelor thesis about arable land in Varberg, from sustainability and it?s relation to local government and management. Arable land has become more important as a natural resource from a global point of view and in concerns of higher demands of food supply, as a result of population growth, higher Consumption worldwide and climate change. But the arable land in Sweden is being exploited an increasingly rapid pace and the arable land in Varberg is not an exception of this development. The issue is most topical and the discussion holds questions about a declining agricultural sector, the formal and administrative protection of arable land and because other interests of land use often is given higher priority in community development and planning.

Selenium (Se) is an essential trace element that is involved in several physiological functions in mammals. Mostly, Se is bound to proteins, many of them with enzymatic functions. A group of seleno-depending enzymes, glutathione peroxidases (GSH-Px?s), are important as antioxidants and protects against free radicals. The activity of GSH-Px is strongly regulated by Se storage in the liver.

This bachelor essay is divided into two parts, the first being a construction of a single-familyhouse and the second an in-depth study of five different isolation materials, analysed from anenergy perspective.The first part, the construction of the single-family house, has been created from knowledgeacquired during three years of studying at KTH Royal institute of Technology in Stockholm, inthe program Architecture and the Built Environment. The constructed house is a one-floorhouse of 137m2with façade plaster, situated in Borlänge, Sweden. The house has a wooden framewhich is built on a on sight cast concrete foundation, on the ground. The house?s roof is a gableroof, which has an angle of 24 degrees.

Sweden has formulated ambitious energy goals which signify that by year 2050 the energy usage should be halved. One of the objectives is the reduction of energy usage by 20% by year 2020 and that it should be compared to the usage of energy from 1995. In parallel with increased energy requirements for buildings the demand on housing conservation, by highlighting also buildings from the last 50 years as part of the building heritage, continues to enhance, which in theory means that there is a conflict between these.The law will never be able to point out unique buildings and PBL (planning and building act) is not especially concrete. The National Housing Board has tried to make this more concrete by the new BBR regulations though there are still an enormous variety of interpretations.This report deals with the conflict between conservation requirements and additional insulation of the building envelope and is limited to multi-residential buildings built between the years 1945 and 1975. It is the stock with the greatest energy Consumption and that is where the big challenge lies.

Between 1965 and 1974, the Swedish Parliament decided to build one million dwellings, called Million Program. The million program buildings were erected with new, untried design solutions, in a short range of time, and at low cost. The residential buildings from that time are now greatly in need of renovation. The municipal housing company, Gavlega?rdarna, renovates and improves the energy efficiency at some of it?s apartment buildings in the district Sa?tra, Ga?vle.

The borehole heat exchangers of today suffer from poor thermal and hydrodynamic performance. The purpose of this thesis is to improve the performance of ground source heat pump systems and thermal energy storages by increasing the energy efficiency of the borehole heat exchangers. For this reason, the annular coaxial borehole heat exchanger (CBHE) has been analyzed. This type of heat exchanger is interesting in terms of both thermal and hydrodynamic performance. A model has been set up in the program Comsol Multiphysics in order to investigate the heat transfer characteristics along the borehole.

Bakgrund: Med anledning av Sveriges ökade ekologiska konsumtion så kommer denna uppsats vidare undersöka ekologisk konsumtion som fenomen och hur företag bör arbeta för att på bästa sätt lyckas nå långsiktig överlevnad med just ekologi som grund.Problem: Vilka faktorer är viktiga för företags beslut om marknadsföringsstrategier gällande ekologiska varor, för att nå långsiktig överlevnad?Syfte: Syftet med den här uppsatsen är att analysera och utvärdera konsumentbeteende med avseende på ekologisk konsumtion. Metod: Undersökningen är kvalitativ och kommer att bearbetas utefter en hermeneutisk och systemteoretisk ansats. För att kunna svara till problem och syfte kommer befintliga teorier att användas. Teoretiska perspektiv: Utbytesperspektiv, utvecklingsperspektiv Teorier: Mervärdesteorin, involveringsteorin, marknadsföringsmixen, konsumentbeteende, totalkommunikation, värdekedja och värdestjärna.Empiri: För det empiriska underlaget har sju stycken konsumenter och en branschrepresentant intervjuats.Analys: Empirin har analyserats utefter de faktorer författarna givit som centrala för att svara till problem och syfte. Författarna har efter operationalisering kunnat dela in respondenterna i en matris baserad på involveringsgrad till ekologi. Detta för att göra det enkelt att följa uppsatsens röda tråd.Resultat: Författarna menar att det är involveringsgraden till ekologi, om den är hög, som är avgörande för konsumtion av ekologiska varor.
