Authors: Seyithan Öngörur och Adnan Yari Instructor: Peter Lindberg Date: 2010-01-13 Key words: Nordea, the financial crisis, advice, marketing, customer relationship Purpose: The purpose of the study is to provide an understanding of how the financial crisis has affected Nordea Life and Pensions market growth based on market share. We also want to give an understanding of what factors may be responsible for the outcome that it may be helpful in future financial crises. Method: A qualitative study was the basis for the study, where three interviews were carried out by the respondents from Nordea Life and Pension. Theory: In this section we have focused on relevant theory and has divided them into different themes, advice, current legislation, marketing, consumption and buying behavior. Conclusion: The study shows that Nordea Life and Pension had a positive growth during the financial crisis and a number of factors are presented that may be the basis for the outcome.Proposal for further research: Since this study was limited to one company it may be intresting to investigate and examine the consuling industry market as a whole affected by the financial crisis. Contributions: This paper has provided an understanding of how Nordea Life and Pensions affected during a financial crisis, based on market share and the factors that may have been the basis for this..

Because of this, the strategy also branch out to other industries, but the question is if it?s as successful there? The Dark Side of the Word-of-Mouse Effect- An experimental study of how negative information in today?s social media can influence consumer perception As a result of the electronic revolution of information dissemination, social media as a phenomenon has come to play an important part, both in society at large but also when it comes to business and marketing. Nowadays, knowledge and opinions about brands and products are spread by reputation through a wide range of social media platforms, a phenomenon which in the literature is referred to as word-of-mouse or electronic word-of-mouth (eWOM).The purpose of this paper is to investigate how people?s opinions towards a company and its product are affected by negative information in terms of eWOM. Or more precisely, whether or not there is a difference in this effect depending on information content, concerning company values on the one hand and product attributes on the other.This was done in an experimental setting where two groups of respondents were subjected to fictitious information of different types using established social media platforms.

Nätverkens betydelse för turistdestinationen : en studie av gotländska turistrelaterade nätverk
The tourism industry is growing and with its growth competition between destinations rises. In competition, cooperation and collaboration between tourism operators seem beneficial when creating an attractive and dynamic tourist destination.The purpose of this study is to describe and discuss the significance and influence of tourist related networks at a tourist destination, and therefore this study aims to examine the question: What significance do the tourist related networks have at a tourist destination?This study focuses on seven networks on Gotland that are tourism related, and the representatives of the networks were interviewed in order to get their view on the network and its significance to the destination. The study shows that networks have an important role in creating a unified tourist product of the destination, and in reaching out to the potential visitors through joint destination marketing. The study also shows that the tourism related networks helps to improve the reception of the tourist at a destination and to secure the quality of the tourist destination and its tourist products..
Personalnedskärningar och aktiepriser : En eventstudie av sambandet mellan personalnedskärningar och aktiepriser under perioden 2008-2012
Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to investigate whether abnormal stock returns could be identified as a result of a layoff announcement during weak economy.Method: An event study methodology.Theory: Efficient market hypothesis, signal theory.Empirical results: Quantitative data from observations of stock prices in thirty two companies listed on the Nasdaq OMX Stockholm, in the period 2008 -2012.Conclusion: The results indicate that the market reaction was negative because there were negative abnormal returns on the Stockholm Stock Exchange during the period 2008-2012 in connection with the layoff announcements. The market reaction was milder when staff reductions were carried out as a result of a restructuring and stronger when staff reductions were carried out as part of a cost reduction program.The layoff announcements elicited different market reactions depending on the company's industry affiliation. The most negative reaction was in the Healthcare industry. Negative abnormal returns were lower in industries Industrials, Consumer Services and Consumer Goods. There were no abnormal returns for shares of companies in the industry Financials.

This essay is how companies are using Facebook to appear. The two companies in this study, Fritz Olsson AB Kalix and Promentum AB shows how Like, share and comment-contest communicates via Facebook. The purpose of this essay is to examine how Facebook users attitude and perception is to Like, share and comment- contest.The thesis was conducted in two parts, first a qualitative interview with the two companies that stand as examples in the paper and a quantitative online survey. The online survey was sent out to the 256 Media and Communication students at Umea? University, who read or has read the program from 2010 to 2016, via Facebook.

Methodology: The research method that was chosen is a detective argumentation
that starts from theories and explain different parameters regarding the
subject I am concentration on. It is a case study where the companies branding
strategy towards pharmacies in Sweden is analyzed bys a mix of semi-structured
interviews, documentation analysis and a quantitative research .
Theoretical framework: The theoretical model that has been prepared gives me
the possibility to analyze different parameters regarding branding that are
important when building a brand in an new market.

The average length of life is increasing in the western world, hence the older population is growing. A common health problem among the elderly is malnutrition.
Malnutrition causes decreased body strength and is associated with an amplified risk of infections, depression, fractures and increased mortality. The health
care system is therefore faced with the challenge to prevent malnutrition among the growing population of elderly. This could be done by providing nutritious
foods developed to meet the specific needs of elderly. The overall objective of this project was to test a healthy energy dense drink based on oats targeted for the elderly
consumers as a strategy to prevent malnutrition among elderly.

This essay studies how advertisements in various anti-smoking campaigns can influence and persuade by using anti-logos as counter-arguments to the tobacco industry's logos. In contrast to tobacco advertising arguments such as freedom (logos), pleasure (pathos) and trademark (ethos) the anti-smoking campaigns create anti-logos arguments with various connotations such as repulsive pictures and sexual implications to influence groups of people not to start smoking or to quit smoking.Advertisement of tobacco does not exist nowadays due to legal restrictions in the western world; however several decades of myths created in the consumer consciousness still exist. Thus one can speak of a tobacco advertising ideology that exists and the various anti-smoking campaigns trying to change that ideology.The purpose of anti-smoking campaigns is to conduct a kategoria of myth that tobacco advertisement has created over the years. Anti smoking organizations do this by creating a new ideology to affect consumer?s attitude toward smoking and the tobacco myth with an anti-myth.

The purpose of this thesis is to study how today?s consumer society can be understood from ananalysis of the phenomenon Every Day Carry (EDC). The aim is thus to problematize the daily useof the artifacts that surrounds us and investigate how these can be understood as networks of humanand non-human actors, aswell as identity- and meaning-making practices in today?s consumersociety.The theoretical and methodical framework is built upon an eclectic variety of consumptiontheories,Michel Callon?s, John Law?s and Bruno Latour?s work on Actor-Network-Theory,Discourse analysis inspired by Michel Foucault, Ernesto Laclau and Chantal Mouffe and anethnographic methodology specifically adapted for online research. The empirical material consistsof photographs and commentaries from two EDC blogs aswell as commentaries regarding EDCfrom a commentary field on Youtube.com.
Etablering genom icke-traditionell marknadsföring : En studie av Goohs etablering på marknaden för färdigmat
Problemformulering: Små företag kan ha svårt att slå sig in på en marknad på grund av en begränsad marknadsföringsbudget och konkurrens från andra aktörer. Dessa företag måste därför i många fall använda andra mindre kostsamma metoder än traditionell marknadsföring för att etablera sig på en marknad.Syfte: Att undersöka hur ett mindre företag kan etablera sig på en marknad genom användandet av andra marknadsföringsstrategier än traditionell reklam. För att besvara vårt syfte två delar ur 4 P undersökts, plats och påverkan (distribution och marknadskommunikation).Metod: En fallstudie har gjorts av företaget Gooh där fyra personer på Gooh har intervjuats genom semi-strukturerade intervjuer.Analys: Gooh har gått från en exklusiv distribution till en mer intensiv distribution för att nå ut till fler kunder och konsumenter. I sin marknadskommunikation har Gooh använt sig av olika aktiviteter som viral och buzz marketing för att generera word-of- mouth både bland konsumenter och kunder.Resultat: Gooh har ökat omfattningen av distributionen samtidigt som de ökat omfattningen av marknadskommunikationen för att nå ut till fler kunder och konsumenter och etablera sig på marknaden för färdigmat.Slutsats: Gooh har använt sig av en kombination av distribution och marknadskommunikation i sin marknadsföring och genom detta fått ett stort antal kunder och konsumenter och därmed etablerat sig på marknaden genom icke- traditionell marknadsföring..
