The aim of this study was to gain an understanding about how people with a former alcohol abuse expresses and gives meaning to feelings of guilt and shame in autobiographical books. In particular the purpose of the study was to find out how the authors writes about feelings of guilt and shame, whether it was expressed explicitly or implicitly, and which meaning the authors gives to feelings of guilt and shame and how these feelings are related to each other. We randomly selected 8 autobiographical books by using different criterias. The foundation of this study was social Constructionism, which is also a foundation for one of our analysis methods: discourse analyse. This analysis method was used for the analysis of the expressions that were made in an explicit way.

Film är ett av de medier som påverkar vår identitetskonstruktion och vår uppfattning om normer och verkligheten. En av de mest populära filmgenrerna är komedifilm. Det är därför intressant att studera konstruktionen av karaktärer i komedifilm för att se vilka normer som är rådande idag.Studiens syfte är att ur ett socialkonstruktionistiskt perspektiv undersöka olika karaktärer i modern komedifilm för att ta reda på hur genus är konstruerat, vilken humoristisk funktion olika karaktärer tilldelas samt vilka eventuella skillnader det finns i komedifilm med i huvudsak manliga skådespelare respektive kvinnliga skådespelare.Resultaten av analysen visade att komedifilm med i huvudsak manliga skådespelare bekräftar traditionella könsnormer samt sociala normer medan en komedifilm med i huvudsak kvinnliga skådespelare visar nya tendenser gällande maskulina och feminina karaktärer. Maskulina egenskaper visades dock vara de mest eftersträvansvärda. Studien fann även att den humoristiska funktionen hos karaktärerna ligger i stereotypisering, överdrifter samt brott mot sociala normer..

The aim of this essay is to try to gain understanding and to get a more profound knowledge of suicide. The questions at issue were 1) What empirical factors are mentioned in the research as possible to explain suicide. 2) Which theoretical perspectives are discussed in research concerning suicide. To answer our questions at issue we carried out a selective research overview with a qualitative perspective. The primary documents that has been the foundation of this essay is constituted by nine of the leading researchers publications in the area of suicidology.

This paper is about the construction of a ?Swedish? identity in the novel Montecore: en unik tiger by Jonas Hassen Khemiri (translated in English to Montecore: the silence of the tiger). In the paper I start by, after a short introduction, introducing the theoretical background against which the novel will be analyzed. The main focus is postcolonial theories with Edward Saids work about making ?the Other? as a base.

Syftet med föreliggande uppsats är att undersöka den rumsliga konstruktionens betydelse för sexualiteten diskurs i det samtida. Uppsatsen står på en trefaldig grund. Ontologiskt i socialkonstruktionismen och dess syn på sexualiteten som konstruerad, epistemologiskt i den kritiska hermeneutiken dvs. syftet är att förklara och förstå och slutligen så vilar den på Foucault och hans syn på sexualiteten och diskurs. I nästföljande avsnitt dekonstrueras och presenteras det konstruerade samhället utifrån begrepp som kön, sexualitet, rum och kropp.

Syftet med föreliggande uppsats är att undersöka sexualitetens diskurs i det samtida. Uppsatsen tar sin ansats i socialkonstruktionismen och dess syn på sexualiteten. Här presenterades tidigare forskning, sexualitetens historia berördes och även olika typer av socialpsykologiska perspektiv på sexualiteten redovisades. Vidare var det epistemologiska angreppssättet hermeneutiskt och metoden kvalitativ. Den undersökning som genomfördes, diskursanalys, tog även den sin utgångspunkt ur ett socialkonstruktionistiskt perspektiv.

This thesis is a discourse theory analysis of two feminist anthologies - Det heter feminism! and F- ordet.  By analyzing these texts through the three categories feminism & feminists, gender equality & equality and sex/gender & sexuality I have raised questions about the feminist debate in Sweden in the 21st century.The discourse theory?s ideas of descriptions of reality and fixation of meaning lies as a foundation for this thesis. The concepts of social Constructionism, post structuralism and essentialism/anti essentialism are central for the analysis as well as concepts connected to the three previously mentioned categories.The intention of this thesis is to describe and analyze a fraction of the Swedish feminist debate in the 21st century and discuss its meaning in a societal context. A number of conclusions were reached in the final discussion.

The purpose of this law-sociological study was to, on the basis of the District Court's decree to single custody, analyze the District Court?s comprehensive ideas and fall-oriented interpretations of the concept of the best interest of the child and the way they are constructed in connection with the District Court's application of the new law regulation of 6kap. 5§ FB regarding collaboration between parents. Our empirical data consisted of ten decrees to single custody. The decrees were examined and analyzed on the basis of social Constructionism as a theory and the idea-analysis as the study's method.

Sweden is described as one of the most forward-thinking countries in the world when it comes to equal opportunities, yet still management is being dominated by men. Looking at entrepreneurship and gender, the author has written four herstories about female entrepreneurs working, through enterprise, to bring about change to the male domination of top level management. The primary purpose of this master's thesis has been to look at theories on entrepreneurship/ management and gender to analyse how the entrepreneurs relate to their roles as [i] entrepreneurs, [ii] agents of change, and [iii] women. The findings show that they attach particular emphasis to their roles as entrepreneurs. As regards the work for change, being female is described as both advantageous and irrelevant, or insufficient.

Uppsatsen syftar till att studera svenska tidningars rapportering om Kina och klarlägga hur bilden av Kina konstrueras i tidningarna. Detta görs genom en diskursanalys av artiklar från tre av Sveriges största dagstidningar. Både teori och metod har sin utgångspunkt i Laclau & Mouffes diskursteori. Valet av artiklar grundar sig i att artiklarna på ett eller annat vis handlat om, eller tagit upp Kina och därigenom hjälpt till att konstruera en bild av landet. I analysen har det insamlade materialet sorterats in i tre olika teman utifrån vad artiklarna berör, dessa teman är, ekonomi, politik, och orientalism.

Syftet med denna uppsats var att få en ökad förståelse och kunskap för hemtjänstpersonalens upplevelse av mötet med kunderna utifrån aspekterna kvalitet, tid och makt. Vi har genomfört en kvalitativ intervjustudie med sex personer som arbetar inom hemtjänstverksamheten. Studiens resultat har analyserats och tolkats utifrån teorierna socialkonstruktionism och roll­teori samt begreppet relationell makt. Resultaten visar att tiden är central i mötet mellan hem­tjänstpersonal och kunder då den inverkar på när och hur länge insatserna ska utföras. Lyhörd­het och att utgå från kundens behov och önskemål definieras som god omsorgskvalitet medan maktförhållandet växlar mellan hemtjänstpersonal och kund utifrån varje unikt om­sorgs­möte.

Den här kvalitativa studien utgår ifrån ett socialkonstruktionistiskt perspektiv.Positioneringsteorin används för att analysera den producerade empirin. Två pedagoger och fembarn i åldrarna två till tre år på en förskola i västra Sverige har deltagit i studien. Videofilmninghar använts som metod för att producera empirin. Syftet med studien är att studera pedagogernasförhållningssätt gentemot de yngsta barnen i åldrarna två till tre vid bildskapande. Syftet är ocksåatt studera de positioner som pedagoger och barn intar och tilldelas under aktivitetens gång.

The aim of this study is to illuminate images and discourses, in which media describe people with disabilities. The purpose of the study will be fulfilled, by answering the following questions: Is it possible to discern categories of how people with disabilities are described in the media and is it possible to find associations to handicap models? We have chosen to focus on how media describe people with physical impairments and have made a content analyses of articles, based on the theoretic aim of this study, social Constructionism, handicap models and earlier research. Underlying the analyses, are six articles from two Swedish news papers. The results of our research are divided in three categories: assumptions which are taken for granted, hidden meanings and contradicted categories.

In November 2006 and July 2007, changes were made to the Social Services Law and the Criminal Injuries Law, defining children who have witnessed domestic violence as crime victims. The objective of our study is to examine if these changes have affected how social workers responsible for child protection inquiries interact with children who have witnessed domestic violence, and to what extent these children?s need of support are taken into account. Qualitative interviews have been carried out with five social workers, with the aim to evaluate how they meet and become aware of these children. Our problem-formulation is based upon the question how social services implement the recent changes to the law.

The purpose of our study is to examine how parents experienced their participation and their involvement in a solution-focused parenting group. The parenting groups are a part of the social welfare system in a town in south of Sweden. The study is conducted as a qualitative study with focus groups. 11 parents have participated. The study´s theoretical framework considers solution focused theory, social Constructionism and process within groups.In the study we found that participants generally perceived their participation as positive and that they received confirmation by meeting other parents in the same situation.
