The purpose of this bachelor thesis is to examine the views of the elderly and the caregivers that appear in brochures for the elderly and the discourses that can be found within. The data that the study is based on was collected and analysed using content analysis and Faircloughs (1992) critical discourse analysis. The theoretical frameworks that have been used are social constructionism, critical discourse analysis, assortment and protest, and New Public Management. The results showed two images of older people (I) the elderly as active and autonomous and (II) the elderly as passive and in need of help. The results also showed two pictures of the caregiver (III) the caregiver and NPM, and (IV), the non-profit care provider as a complement.

This thesis explores how three contemporary Mexican women artists, Teresa Margolles, Julieta Aranda, and Minerva Cuevas navigate and critically engage with the global art world through a postcolonial and transnational feminist lenses. The study investigates how their artistic practices address issues of gender, identity, power and violence by examining six artworks by their aesthetic and material strategies, revealing how these artists challenge dominant Western narratives. Drawing on theoretical frameworks by Marsha Meskimmon, Ania Loomba, and Homi K. Bhabha, among others. The thesis discusses concepts of cultural hybridity, the ?third space? and gender to analyze the complex intersections between the local and the global spaces in contemporary art.

This is a case study that explores the ways in which implemented university reforms have affected employees in the higher educational sector. Previous research within the research field has mainly focused on policy related consequences of the reforms. This is why a study that brings attention to the ways the reforms have affected employees is sorely needed.The aim with the study is to examine whether there is a discrepancy between formal changes and the ways the employees experience them. The study is based on interviews with 8 lecturers from two universities and the material is analyzed mainly through sociological neo-institutional theories, such as Richard Scott?s theory of the three pillars within an informal institution and Helmke and Levintskys theory of the relationship between formal and informal institutions.The results show that there is a discrepancy between the formal changes and the ways employees perceive them.

Laura Mulvey was the first to suggest that women and men have different positions on the screen; men drives the plot forward, and the women are objects of masculine desire and lust.The purpose of this report was to look at and compare the two characters from the 70?s - and 80's with two characters from the 00?s - and 2010?s to gain a deeper understanding and insight into how female action heroes are presented. This will be done with the help of the questions; How is the female action heroes that are analyzed in the paper?What are the differences and similarities between the past and the present-day action heroes? Just how stereotypical are the women in their genre? The four female action heroes that were analyzed were; Princess Leia Star Wars, Sarah Connor Terminator and Lisbeth Salander Men Who Hates Women and Katniss Everdeen The Hunger Games.The four female action heroes were analyzed based on Rikke Schubarts categories (Moderarketypen, Amazon, Dotterarketypen, Ha?mnerskan and Dominatrix), the character's personal development, the character's violence and the reason for the character's.Characters from the past were more often presented as more uncertain and fragile than the modern confident characters. The female action heroes of modern times was more independent, strong, and in no need of a man in comparison with contemporary female action heroes.

I Sverige har forskningen kring mäns partnervåld mot kvinnor främst utgått från kvinnans roll som våldsutsatt istället för mäns roll som våldsutövande. Syftet med detta arbete är att undersöka hur den svenska facklitteraturen diskuterar mäns partnervåld mot kvinnor. Vår frågeställning har varit följande: Vilka generella konstruktioner av mäns partnervåld mot kvinnor framkommer i facklitteraturen med beaktande av temana makt och kontroll, kvinnans självbild, omgivningens attityder och normer samt orsaksförklaringar till partnervåldet? Arbetet utgörs av en kunskapsöversikt över sju stycken primärdokument som har analyserats med hjälp av socialkonstruktionistisk teoribildning. Resultaten visar att det finns en risk med att majoriteten av författarna i våra primärdokument diskuterar kvinnor som en särskilt utsatt grupp för mäns våld.  Författarna konstruerar en bild av kvinnan som offer för mannens partnervåld och mannen som förövaren.

During the last two decades, temporary staffing has been the fastest growing industry in Sweden. The latest development within this industry is the integration of third-party providers of temporary staffing. Client organizations outsource the process of recruiting temporary workers to intermediaries with procurement management expertise. The concept is called Vendor Management Services (VMS) and aims to standardize decision-making and lower costs through improved efficiency. However, studies have shown that VMS intermediary functions have negative impact on placement matching.

The aim of this essay is to give the reader an idea of how the European agricultural policies have developed, in regard of sustainable development, since Sweden became a member in the union 1995. The main aspect that?s been investigated is the issues regarding sustainable development and how the issues regarding the ecological farming methods have been dealt with. My research questions are:- How has the European environment- and agricultural politics changed since Swedenjoined the union in 1995?- What consequences have the changes had for ecological farming?The answers to the stated questions are that there have been several treaties in the field of environmental development of the agricultural policy, starting with the Maastricht treaty and ends up with the European Action Plan for Organic Food and Farming.

Young men who commit sexual abuse is a complex topic. This study is based on litterature on the subject and the material is processed through a qualitative content analysis. The study aims to study how the litterature describes the reasons why young men commit sexual abuse. It also aims to explore what is described to be effective treatment of young men who committed sexual abuse. The study found that most of the young men who commit sexual abuse comes from families where violence and psycohological abuse occurs. Many have themselves been victims of sexual abuse.

I föreliggande studie åsyftas att erhålla en djupare förståelse om ordningsvakters erfarenheter och upplevelser av våld och hot. Vi vill även få klarhet i vilken betydelse samspelet mellan kollegorna har, samt vad interaktionen mellan ordningsvakterna och gästerna har för betydelse för upprätthållandet av ordning där de arbetar. Uppsatsen har genomförts i en sydsvensk mindre stad. För insamling av empiri har vi nyttjat oss av kvalitativ metod, där 10 semistrukturerade intervjuer genomförts där 10 respondenter av olika kön deltagit. En delvis deltagande observation på en nattklubb har även genomförts som ett komplement till intervjuerna.

SammanfattningBakgrund:Tidigare litteratur beskriver att sjuksköterskor frekvent blir utsatta för våld på sin arbetsplats. Våldshandlingar orsakar spänningar i förhållandet mellan sjuksköterskor och patienter, vilket har negativa effekter på omvårdnaden.Syfte: Syftet med föreliggande studie var att beskriva bakgrundsfaktorer till att patienter och anhöriga utövar våld mot sjuksköterskor och annan vårdpersonal på sjukhus.Metod: En litteraturstudie med deskriptiv design, som inkluderade 15 artiklar. Artiklarna hittades i databaserna PubMed och Cinahl, sökorden som användes var Nurses, Patients, Hospitals, Workplace, Violence och Factors.Resultat: Huvudresultatet från denna studie var att bakgrundsfaktorer till våldshandlingar var höga arbetskrav på personal, långa väntetider, tid på dygnet, demografiska faktorer, substanspåverkan, påverkan av hälsotillstånd och inställning till sjukvården.Slutsats: Författaren till föreliggande litteraturstudie fann att de bakgrundsfaktorer som beskrevs till att patienter och anhöriga utövade våldshandlingar mot sjuksköterskor grundade sig i missnöje över vården eller att patienter och anhörigas beteenden påverkades av tillfälliga omständigheter. Det är av vikt att lyfta fram detta forskningsområde då det har en direkt påverkan på omvårdnad..

This bachelor's thesis is a study of operative approach and attitude to espaliered fruit trees in home gardens. Through qualitative interviews the informants give their view of problems which might arise, and to some extent how the problems can be solved. In addition, which benefit can be obtained from growing these different types of trained trees and for whom they might be suitable. Thematic analyses were used to find themes and patterns for deeper understanding. The conclusion was that these kinds of trees would be beneficial to use to a greater extent than is done today you can use more species and varieties, fit more trees in a small garden, and enhance the trees esthetical appearance.

Abstract:Today many adolescents have access to computers and mobile phones.  They prefer to socialize through these means which has led to a new kind of bullying, the electronic bullying. The purpose of this study has been to examine the electronic bullying from the perspective of gender, anonymity and the consequences that it may lead to. We have chosen a quantitative approach by using a questionnaire survey targeting young people between the ages of 15-16 years in Kalmar county. 163 respondents took part in the survey, 78 girls and 85 boys. The gathered material is presented by means of contingency tables and has been interpreted by gender socialization, deindividuation and dehumanization.

Syftet med den här studien har varit att undersöka hur homosexuella män upplever våld och risken att bli utsatt för våld bara på grund av att de är homosexuella. Den metod som användes för att utföra studien var Grundad teori. Detta för att på ett öppet sätt närma sig problemområdet utan föreställningar med syftet att skapa en ny teori. En bidragande orsak till teorivalet, då Grundad teoris huvudsyfte är att skapa nya teorier, var att forskning om homosexuellas utsatthet ofta beskrivs ur en heterosexuell synvinkel och handlar om vad de utsatts för och inte hur det upplevs. I resultatet framkom en komplex bild som å ena sidan visar att intervjupersonerna anpassar sig i vissa situationer på grund av risken att bli utsatt för våld, men å andra sidan anser de inte att våldet begränsar deras sätt att leva.

Grief research generally demonstrates that children and teenagers who have lost a parent in suiciderisk developing severe psychological and physical morbidity, as well as social disabilities, in adultlife as a result of traumatic aspects of the death and complicated grief reactions. The youngbereaved also run a highly increased risk of developing suicidal behaviour or to commit suicidethemselves. Despite these alarming reports, the research field is poorly explored and studies thattake an interest in the long-term consequences and the subjective experiences of the bereavedyoungsters are lacking. A qualitative study using narrative methods has been carried out toexamine the experiences of four young women, who during adolescence lost a father in suicide.The study specifically focuses on the grief process, the short- and long-term consequences, and theneed for social support in relation to family, extended network and society. The study reveals thatthe women?s traumatic loss has shattered their basic assumptions about the world as a safe andmeaningful place.
