Under tidigt 80-tal växte olika sorter av kommunikationsmodeller fram, bland annat Daft och Lengels, Media Richness Theory. Denna teori var baserad på den tidens kommunikationsmönster. Idag nästan 20 år senare har vi sett explosionsartad IT-utveckling vilket har medfört förändringar i det dagliga kommunikationsmönstret. I denna uppsats undersöker vi om Media Richness Theory fungerar på ny teknik med hänsyn till dagens utökade kommunikationsmetoder. Vi studerar bland annat användnings- och påverkningsmönster ur ett abduktivt perspektiv, det vill säga både kvalitativt och kvantitativt.

The purpose of this study is to examine to what extent the senior level Swedish school can be viewed as supporting, or counteracting, a colonial discourse that legitimizes global and national injustices. The study is executed through a discourse analysis of five textbooks in social science for senior level Swedish schools.Using elements from Foucault and Edward Said a theoretical framework is constructed, in which a colonial discourse is perceived as structured around four clusters of ideas, namely (i) the use of dichotomies, (ii) the concept of progress and civilization, (iii) the construction of -we- as synonymous with (ii), and (iv) the construction of -the others- as the opposite of (ii) and, therefore, the opposite of -us-.The results show that a colonial discourse is still highly present in the textbooks, in that the texts are structured around dichotomies such as tradition/modernity and democracy/dictatorship. Sweden and the Western world are perceived as closely associated with democracy, freedom, and modernity, whereas -the others- of the world are being associated with e.g. poverty, conflict, tradition, and ignorance. -The others- within Sweden, i.e.

Data sets are continuously increasing within organizations. Data sets will also be in larger amounts,have shorter lifetime, is becoming more varied and holds various degrees of uncertainty. Together,these dimensions are included in the term Big Data. There is no universally accepted definition ofBig Data and how it should be used. Applications that turn out to be part of a Big Data conceptoften begin as investments in an organization in order come to new insights or create new businessperspectives.

Trots att behov och förutsättningar finns att använda mobila nyttotjänster via SMS används de inte i den utsträckning det är möjligt. Den hämmade spridningen av de mobila nyttotjänsterna kan bero på ett flertal faktorer varav en del inte har studerats i tidigare undersökningar. Vi valde att undersöka om mobiloperatörernas infrastruktur kan vara en sådan faktor. För att få en insyn i den funktionalitet och de tjänster innehållsleverantörerna erbjuds av mobiloperatörerna samt innehållsleverantörernas önskemål och krav, gjorde vi en förstudie i form av en intervju med en innehållsleverantör. Den resulterade i ett intervjuunderlag för de olika mobiloperatörerna i Sverige vilka vi sedan intervjuade för att få fram en bild av deras erbjudna funktionalitet.

Cyberpunkgenren definieras som en genre med en uttalad mörk framtidsbild med dystopiska inslag där bioteknik och artificiell intelligens är återkommande inslag och där majoriteten av verken som berör genren utspelar sig på natten. Syftet med denna studie har varit att undersöka om förändringar av det stereotypiska nattelementet som cyberpunkgenren förknippas med anses vara genrebrytande. Förändringen som gjordes var att nattbelysningen byttes ut mot dagsbelysning i en cyberpunkmiljö. För att genomföra detta skapades en stereotypisk cyberpunkmiljö med hjälp av datorgrafik som sedan presenterades i två versioner, en i nattbelysning och en i dagsbelysning. Bilderna visades därefter upp för en informantgrupp som var kunnig inom science fiction och cyberpunkgenren och som därefter fick besvara ett antal frågor under semistrukturerade kvalitativa intervjuer..

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the process of transferring information from science to "the field" of environmental protection in Sweden. I have studied four Swedish environmental organizations, Greenpeace Nordic, WWF Sweden, the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation and Friends of the Earth Sweden to see how they search/get information. I have also studied the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency and its role as sender of information, since it is the authority which is responsible for environmental information in Sweden. I have used information and communication theories as a help to analyse my results. While working on this paper I realized that my methods were not the best.

Denna kandidatuppsats i informatik behandlar användningen av digitala arkivsystem i offentlig förvaltning. Författarna har ställt sig frågan vilken påverkan dessa system har haft för myndigheternas möjlighet att leva upp till de krav som ställs i arkivlagen och tryckfrihetsförordningen på offentliga arkiv och vad syftet är med att införa digitala arkivsystem i offentlig förvaltning. För att besvara frågeställningarna gjordes en studie på fyra skånska kommuner där personer som på olika sätt arbetar med digitaliserade bygglovsarkiv intervjuades. Resultatet tyder på att de digitala arkivsystemens främsta påverkan är en ökad tillgänglighet till det arkiverade materialet. Handläggare och andra som behöver ta del av den information som arkivet innehåller har fått nya möjligheter att göra detta i och med digitaliseringen av arkiven.

Cloud computing is a new buzzword within the IT-industry, and introduces a whole new way of working with IT. The technique delivers web based services, which results in that the user no longer needs to install an application locally on a computer. Since the application no longer needs to run on a local entity, but in a datacenter located on a service provider, the users no longer need any specific hardware more than a computer with an internet connection. Cloud computing also offers IT-infrastructure and development environments as services, these three service types is better known as cloud services. Through the usage of different types of cloud services, the need for maintenance and hardware is significantly reduced.

Vår avsikt med uppsatsen var att utvärdera e-handelslösningen osCommerce utifrån ett ramverk som vi skapade och genom en enklare installation av e-handelssystemet. Utvärderingen gjordes för att underlätta för en potentiell intressent att välja eller förkasta osCommerce. Genom att läsa om e-handel och IT i facklitteratur och på Internet hittade vi aspekter som vi ansåg var viktiga att beakta när det gällde kvaliteten på en e-handelslösning. Dessa aspekter - administration, funktioner och layout, säkerhet, teknologi, resursåtgång, installation, marknadsföring samt flexibilitet - kom att utgöra utvärderingskriterier i vårt ramverk. För att ta reda på vad användarna av osCommerce tyckte om systemet genomförde vi semistrukturerade intervjuer via e-post.

To design new and high tech products the engineers rely more and more on computer based simulations to investigate the properties and behavior for a component or system.To verify these computer based simulations the dynamic properties for the components of the drivetrain needs to be verified. Therefore measurements of the stiffness and vibrations for the rear axle has been performed. This report show how the measurements has been implemented and evaluated, along with some interesting results for the rear axles properties.The static stiffness for the drive shaft along with the axle-gear has been determined. It is found that the stiffness for the whole rear axle is near the stiffness for the drive shaft, which means that the drive shaft becomes the dominant component of the system and affects the rear axle stiffness the most. The measured stiffness of the driveshaft is close to its theoretical stiffness.The stiffness for solely the hypoid-gear have been calculated using the stiffness for the rear axle and driveshaft, and thus has a range for the stiffness of the hypoid gear been determined.The backlash for the whole rear axle and for some individual components has been determined, where the backlash between pinion and crown-wheel has negligible impact on the total backlash.Measurements of the crown-wheel and pinion movements have been conducted, where the direction of movement is consistent with the theoretical direction of the forces.The vibration measurements show that the vibrations are more severe at certain rotational speeds.

In this study we have interviewed eight teachers about when and how particle concepts should be taught. All of the surveyed teachers argue for an early introduction. This view is also consistent with the scientists on when the particle concepts should be introduced. By an early introduction teachers and scientists consider the age between 6-12 years old. A majority of the scientists and the surveyed teachers use concept of change as a entery point to talk about particle ideas.

Denna uppsats behandlar hur ett införande av SOA (Service Oriented Architecture) påverkar en organisations IT-arkitektur. IT-arkitekturen har stor betydelse för en organisation och det är viktigt att arkitekturen är anpassad efter verksamheten för att lyckas med ett införande. Syftet var således att ta fram ett ramverk innehållande faktorer som påverkar IT-arkitekturen vid ett införande av SOA, vilka problem dessa faktorer kan medföra samt förslag på åtgärder. Genom litteraturgranskning och tre kvalitativa intervjuer erhöll vi underlag för att skapa ovan nämnda ramverk. Resultatet blev ett ramverk innehållande fem dimensioner av IT-arkitektur som visar att påverkan till stor del beror på hur väl IT-arkitekturen är anpassad till verksamheten.

I och med den nya lagstiftningen hoppades Antipiratbyrån och dess medlemsorganisationer att nedladdningen av musik och annan upphovsrättskyddat material skulle upphöra eller minska. Detta har den inte gjort samtidigt som det hela tiden kommer nya tekniker som gör det möjligt att gå förbi lagstiftningen, detta beror på att lagstiftningen upplevs som luddig. Efter den 1:a juli 2005 har det blivit olagligt att ladda ner upphovsrättsskyddat material. Trots detta förbud fortsätter personer att ladda ner, kan detta bero på att de saknar moral eller är det så att personerna har missuppfattat gällande lagstiftning? Denna uppsats undersöker endast de rådande förhållanden i Sverige.

Documentation in electronic journals is perceived as time consuming and sometimes technically difficult to handle, but also leads to an improved quality of care. Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate nurses' perceptions of documentation with a focus on timing, technique and quality of care and whether any differences in these perceptions were dependent on age. Method: Quantitative descriptive cross-sectional study in the survey form, 28 nurses at a university hospital in central Sweden participated in the study. Regression analysis was performed with Spearman's rank correlation coefficient. Results: Electronic documentation takes 30 to 60 minutes for most nurses and half of them considered it a reasonable time.

Under de senaste åren har det blivit vanligare att arbetsgivare väljer att avskeda en arbetstagare istället för att säga upp denne. En skillnad mellan dessa två åtgärder är att vid ett avsked avslutas anställningen omgående medan en uppsägning följs av en uppsägningstid. Den skillnad som är av största betydelse för arbetsgivarens val är att om arbetstagaren yrkar att uppsägningen ska ogiltigförklaras kvarstår anställningen tills tvisten är löst. Detta gäller inte vid avsked, där skiljs arbetstagaren från anställningen även om denne yrkar att avskedandet ska ogiltigförklaras. Anställningsskyddslagen tillsammans med skadeståndspraxis ger en arbetsgivare som väljer avsked istället för uppsägning möjligheten till en ekonomisk besparing..
