The aim of my study is to investigate if and in that case how the writing process and texts written by students in the upper secondary school are affected by the writing tool; does it matter if they write their texts on a computer or by longhand? Another objective is to compare such an effect with the findings of previous studies performed on earlier generations of writers. The first part of my study was a survey. It showed that two thirds of the 67 students participating thought that they would have written better texts in the national writing test if they had been able to use computers. In the second part of the study each of the fourteen participants wrote one text on computer and another by hand.

With the huge amount of computers connected to the Internet the IP-addresses are starting to run out. The Internet Engineering Task Force, IETF, have decided that it is about time to exchange the old 32 bits Internet protocol, Ipv4, to a more modern 128 bits protocol called Ipv6. This thesis explores the possibility to install Ipv6 in different operating systems. By testing various operating systems and by set up criteria compare them to each other we give the reader a picture of how the installation is done. We also show which operating systems to prefer if you want to use IPv6.

CDMA2000/ 450 is a third generation mobilecommunicationsystem which could replace the old NMT- 450 and for comparatively low costs. The reason for the low costs is that you only have to use the old NMT- 450 masts and supply them with new equipment. Simulation means running a model of a system with suitable input and observing the corresponding output. Real-time environment simulation is a special kind of simulation used to simulate a control system's environment in real-time. This is done to test the control system before it is used in its real environment. In this project, computer simulation of a certain kind of environments, called track-based systems, is studied and a general model for track-based systems is developed. In this model, track layouts are represented by graphs, which is a flexible and extensible representation and a method for visualizing these layouts is presented.

This essay has its background in the work I?ve been conducting organizing and cataloging two personal archives concerning the life and work of two vicars, Johan Axel Björkman and P.A. Björkman. The time span of the papers stretches from 1823 to 1982.The main problems I?ve been confronted with during this work have to do with respecting provenance and original order.

This study highlights the importance of computer technology and its impact on elder care staff's skills development in the public sector. The government presents the digital agenda within which information and communication technology today is considered to have a potential for sustainability, growth and development. According to the EU Commission, there are several important elements that should be improved to digitize the workplace. Among these are digital literacy, collaboration between agencies and increased investments in research, education and innovation. New technology can be understood in different ways by individuals, some see the computer as something positive and exciting, while others may find it hard to see the opportunities for learning and development.

Ett väl fungerande nätverk kan hjälpa företag att förbättra sin produktivitet och skapa möjligheter till affärer. För att utnyttja fördelarna som nätverk kan skapa har Kista Science City AB sedan år 2000 aktivt arbetat med att skapa olika projekt och nätverk, med avsikt att stimulera tillväxt i regionen Kista Science City, framförallt hos de mindre företagen. Syftet med denna uppsats är att beskriva de relationer som företagen inom nätverken kopplade till Kista Science City AB har, med hjälp av ARA-modellen. För att besvara syftet så har en kvalitativ intervjubaserad fallstudie utförts. Uppsatsen visar att det finns störst potential till starka relationer gentemot externa aktörer och att det konstruerade nätverket är begränsat till någon del av de lager som nämns i ARA-modellen..

Som alla vet och som alla läst har användandet av Internet ökat explosionsartat de sista tio åren vilket har lett till att mängden information som nu finns tillgänglig på några sekunders avstånd in i framtiden är gigantiskt. Då fler och fler företag vill nå ut till den breda publik som Internet har, måste de skapa webbsajter på ett sådant sätt att de fångar besökarnas intresse snabbt och får dem att göra återbesök. Detta gör givetvis konkurrensen om kunderna stenhård. Hur kan man då fånga intresset hos besökare för att få en större chans att påverka dem positivt och det snabbt? Den här rapporten riktar sig framförallt till utvecklare av webbapplikationer som vill se vad som är avgörande för att försöka locka till sig fler besökare och för att behålla de som redan finns.

Modern agriculture equipment are more computer based today, and many equipments use a terminal in the tractor where the driver have the opportunity to make adjustments to the equipment. This is the reason why ISO developed a new standard called ISOBUS. It is a communication standard based on CAN specially adapted for griculture equipments. The purpose of the standard is that it should be ossible to equip a tractor with a standard terminal called Virtual Terminal that can be used to control the equipment. The use of the terminal should be independent of the manufacturer of the tractor as well as of the equipment.The purpose of this report is to ?nd a solution of how to use CC Systems on-board computer, CCP XS, as a Virtual Terminal.

Hatoum makes the observer a voyageur with the aid of the latest medical technology, endoscope, which gives her the opportunity to make an introvert self-portrait when she films her own throat and rectum. But at the same time she makes the portrait of us all.

Library and information science students often ask themselves if their education will be sufficient and adapted to the work tasks they will meet with as future librarians. It is the aim of this Master thesis to investigate LIS-graduates' experiences of the transfer from academic studies into professional life. The thesis thus treats four questions: I: What problems, if any, does the LIS-graduate experience when first employed? 2: Does the recently employed librarian feel that the academically obtained knowledge is applicable in professional life? And, if so, how does it apply? 3: Does the new employee find that there are areas in which his/her academic education has been insufficient? 4: What is the general attitude towards LIS-graduates' education among colleagues and is the library staff prepared to provide the necessary instructions? The investigation is performed through interviews with eight LIS-graduates, all of whom have recently started working as public librarians. The analysis is based on the concepts of competence, qualifications, work skills, knowledge and in the processes of formal and practical learning.

Problem: Under våra studier på Blekinge Tekniska Högskola har vi fått lära oss att lägga stor vikt vid att sätta användaren i centrum vid utvecklandet av informationssystem. Vi vill nu undersöka om detta synsätt bara används i teorin eller om systemutvecklare fokuserar på användare när system ska utvecklas och implementeras i en verksamhet. I denna uppsats fokuserar vi på företaget Markislagret Hem & Fritid AB i Bromölla som implementerade ett informationssystem för ett år sedan. Användarna där är inte riktigt nöjda med systemet och vi vill därför undersöka om det beror på bristande användarmedverkan i utvecklingsprocessen. Vårt mål är att ta reda på om användarna har varit delaktiga i utvecklingsprocessen och i vilken omfattning detta har skett. Syfte: Syftet med rapporten är att få en förståelse huruvida användarcentrerad systemutveckling används i praktiken i en fallstudie.

Facilitated by the breakthrough of the internet, new ways of organizing internet-based projects that harness the power of the crowds are becoming increasingly common. Today there are ways of using the crowd as paid labour, as funders of your new project ventures and even for helping scientists doing science. Staying true to its traditional principles of objectivity and trustworthiness while asking the crowd to contribute, crowd generated ?Citizen Science? does not provide even the slightest amount of pay in exchange for the time and effort put in by their contributors. Surely there can not be many people willing to do such a thing voluntarily? Actually, practice is showing the exact opposite with contributions counted in their millions among the more popular Citizen Science projects.

The point of interest in this study is to identify whether ethnicity is a correlating factor regarding Hungarian immigrants? development of identity in Sweden. The general aim is to increase knowledge and understanding of the conditions for the Hungarian ethnical group in Sweden to reach self-realization. The main question is whether the general view of the background of this ethnical group has a connection to their self-realization in Sweden? Since the study involves a whole group of minority, a limitation has been made to adults living in the city of Halmstad, Sweden.
