Landskapskaraktärsanalys : som metod för planering av gång- och cykelväg
Detta kandidatarbete uppfördes vid Institutionen för stad och land, Sveriges
Lantbruksuniversitet, Ultuna, under vårterminen 2012 efter en introduktion till
projektet av Ramböll, Uppsala. Målet med studien var att undersöka hur det går
att underlätta för fotgängare och cyklister att röra sig utmed länsväg 255 på ett
säkert och trivsamt sätt, samt att undersöka vilken möjlighet landskapet har att
klara dessa förändringar. Ämnet knyter samman flera viktiga aspekter för en
landskapsarkitekt då arbetet behandlar en fråga som är viktig både ur gestaltnings-
och planeringsperspektiv samt har stor betydelse för samhällets invånare
och för naturens hållbaret. Då sträckan som studerades är nästan två mil lång
gjordes studien på en övergripande nivå med landskapets helhet i fokus.
I analysen lades särskild vikt vid visuella upplevelsevärden som kan uppfattas
i gång- och cykelfart, det vill säga stora landskapselement och variation av
naturtyper. Även perceptuella värden såsom fysisk bekvämlighet samt känslomässiga
upplevelser studerades.
Ridning i landskapet : planering för ökad tillgänglighet för ryttare
Att rida ut i naturen på sin häst är ett sätt att uppleva landskapet men det är också motion och rekreation. Målet med uppsatsen är att studera och beskriva det nuvarande intresset och arbetet på lokal, och även till viss del regional nivå, med att förbättra tillgängligheten för ryttare i utvalda delar av Skåne som består av intensivt brukad jordbruksmark. I de utvalda områdena finns det en problematik med ett ökat antal ryttare och hästar och få möjligheter att röra sig i landskapet. Uppsatsen undersöker hur tre kommuners processer, med tyngdpunkt på Ängelholms kommun, ser ut för att öka tillgängligheten för ryttare. Genom intervjuer med personer som är aktiva i ett ridslingeprojekt i Ängelholms kommun och erfarenheter från de andra kommunernas representanter skapas en bild av hur arbetet ser ut.
I Have a Dream...: En studie om ideologiföring
Due to the highly competitive and busy marketplace of today, companies are forced to take unforeseen measures in defending and developing their brands. Key elements like opinion leadership and lifestyle marketing are commonplace and aim to deliver values that are more difficult to define compared to quality, price, looks and usability. This paper aims to develop what should be considered most fundamental to all commercial branding. By investigating the ideologies that are the core of many successful companies, we hope to clarify the importance of communicating these ideologies. The topic is examined by method of quantitative analysis and the main purpose is to determine; what do the companies think of their ideologies, and how do their consumers recieve them? A secondary purpose is also to investigate whether different kinds of consumers recieve the ideologies in different ways..
Bevarande av parker, trädgårdar och landskap
Abstract In order to work with historical sites, there must be an understanding of the complexity around the preservation of parks, gardens and landscapes and the approach to be used in the rebuilding and renewal. These issues are an important starting point of this essay. Historical environments give us as individuals an insight in who we are and from where we come, which is an important part of our need of identity as human beings. Without them, our roots in the past will be non-existent. The importance of this support base lies not only in the garden conservation, but also in the picture of developments, which we have through of as time mirrors of our living environment.

The survey takes its starting point in a critical evaluation of recent phenomenological approaches to rock art in landscape studies, foremost the works of Chris Tilley. The purpose is to present a phenomenological theory, based on the philosophy of Maurice Merleau-Ponty, which includes both motives, places and landscapes in a holistic interpretation. Bronze age rock art around Motala ström and the city of Norrköping is used to exemplify the theoretical discussion. Kartläggning av markberedning i svår terräng på SCA Skog
Due to the requirement for reduced use of insecticides and the lack of competitive mechanical plant protection, you need a scarification with good result. This is often no problem to perform in normal terrain without technical barriers. However, in difficult terrain with large number of rocks and steep slopes, the result would be worse. The purpose of the study is, that in these areas with difficult terrain, to find out the scarified areas quality, describe the non-scarified areas conditions and find out where the limit is for the use of a traditional disc trencher. Findings indicate that there are usually not the machine that is the limit, but the driver of this.

This report considers how the design and planning of the city can influence and promote a sustainable
development focused on the social dimension. My prior intention was to look in to how
a landscape architect can work with social matters of sustainability such as integration, equality,
safety and so on. Which are our most successful tools and capabilities?
I started to work with the historical background in September 2008 and soon discovered the multitude
of theories and definitions of sustainable development, international, national and local. In
Sweden the local political level has been given a lot of responsibilities to achieve a more sustainable

Vad påverkar påverkansprincipen? : En kvantitativ studie om påverkansprincipens förekomst i svenska organisationer
This study puts emphasis on an international discourse describing how cities frequently compete against each other, and also describing factors that cities should enhance to make themselves more competitive. The discourse in this study has therefore been used to seek understanding how three different municipalities Borlänge, Karlstad and Malmö strive for growth by applying central factors from the discourse on the municipalities strategic documents. What the study shows is that the central factors from the discourse strongly imprints the strategic documents, but the presence of the factors varies between the municipalities and also to what meaning that lies behind the strategic goals..

This paper studies the fragmentation and reuse of early christian monuments ("eskilstunakistor") in churches in Östergötland during the medieval period. This is found to have been done in two stages. The first stage shows a collectivization of society. Within religion the change from ancestoral cult towards the saints' cult is important as the fragments are reused like relics. During the second stage the collectivization has been fulfilled, and the reuse is instead part of the christian churches' strategy for incorporating old powerful symbols from the landscape into their own church building..

This paper deals with hill-forts located on and directly south of Selaön, in the center of Mälardalen, Södermanland, dated to the late roman period and the migration period. Of special interest is differences and similarities between the forts when it comes to their morphology and the hills where they were built. The competition between the Swedish municipalities has increased as the world has become more globalized, which means that they need to become more attractive for sustaining sound finances and not to find themselves to have a downward trend. One possibility to show the attractiveness of a place is by using place marketing and therewith attaining a stronger brand position. There are 20 suburban municipalities in the county of Stockholm, of which six are multicultural or are having a minimum of 20 percent immigrants among the residents. These immigrant areas are segregated based on class, income and culture. Problems associated with these areas have historical aspects that dates further back than modern immigration does.
Centralitet och periferi i det nya Europa : Städer som regionala nav i samarbete och konkurrens
European cities of today are under the challenge to find ways to stay competitive and flourish in a rapidly changing world, where the old patterns of centrality and periphery not necessarily holds true. New and improved communication networks, a changed political geography in Europe, and the globalisation of not only the financial and industrial markets but also to a certain extent the globalisation of people, have all led to great challenges for cities and regions.In a changed spatial reality the classic monocentric models are challenged by newer models of urbanisation. The polycentric urban region is one such model which has been used to describe urban regions like the Randstad in the Netherlands and the Rhein-Ruhr region in Germany. Regions which lack the single dominant central city of the monocentric models of old, and instead shows a high degree of more equal-sized and sometimes more specialised cities in regional cooperation. The polycentric urban region is in that aspect a possible model for how other urbanised regions in Europe may act to be able to position themselves as attractive urban regions and regional hubs in the European urban network.Polycentric urban regions are not a universal solution, though.

På senare tid har konkurrensen om kunder ökat bland företag vilket gör att behovet av konkurrentanalyser har ökat. Trähusbranschen är en bransch där behovet av konkurrentanalys är extra stort eftersom det finns många företag som konkurrerar på en begränsad och konjunkturkänslig marknad. Konkurrensen inom branschen blir dessutom hårdare eftersom kunderna oftast är privatpersoner med stora krav på produkten men med en begränsad ekonomi. I denna rapport har konkurrensförhållandena inom trähusbranschen undersökts på en geografiskt begränsad marknad. Undersökningen inriktades på att hitta de absolut viktigaste faktorerna som gör en husleverantör framgångsrik.

In today?s fast changing environment it is important for knowledge intense companies that want to stay competitive to actively work with their knowledge, knowledge sharing and Knowledge Management (KM). Barriers decrease the efficiency of how knowledge is created, stored and shared, and they are therefore important to reduce or preferably remove making the KM activities result in as much value for the organisation as possible. There are numerous questions to be asked when your task is to plan a small community?s future development. Is it possible to suggest something new and modern? What considerations should be taken concerning the existing situation? What is an appropriate size for the new development? Where is it possible to build and what is the most appropriate method to use?In this master´s thesis I have tried to develop and describe a working-process where I execute a complete landscape character analysis for the whole community in question to get the answers to where and how it would be most appropriate to develop a village like Flädie without destroying its current character.Flädie is a typical small village in the countryside of Skåne, Sweden. It is strongly effected by the expansive and urban region it?s located in but is still rural in character.
