AbstractThe aim of the study was to describe district nurses experiences meeting intimate of cancer patients in home care. The study had a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The sample consisted of ten district nurses employed in primary health care, working in emergency duty in a district in the Middle of Sweden. The results are presented from the two categories; to communicate and being Competent, which was formulated to one theme. The theme ?Being safe in one´s professional role, being aware of possibilities and difficulties when encountering intimates in home care?.

This study is based on the will to understand the importance of a specific theory within social work. From the concept of neo-liberal governmentality, the aim is to critically examine and discuss how governance and self-governance is manifested in social work methods and interventions, exemplified by the theory cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT). This will be accomplished through an analysis of:? How governance (and self-governance) is manifested in text through the advocacy of CBT and methods based on CBT.? How (governance and) self-governance is manifested in text through the contents of CBT and methods based on CBT. The study has a deductive approach including the hypothesis that the discourses inherent in social work methods and interventions, exemplified by the theory of CBT and methods based on CBT, may be related to the West?s development of a neo-liberal concept of governance.

Globalization and demographic changes are forcing today?s companies to be more competitive in order to reach success. The increasing competition is proving a challenge for companies to recruit and retain Competent, talented staff. To meet these challenges, Talent Management was developed during the 1990s and supplies a new and innovative way to deal with personnel management. This research examines the effects of creative store window displays of fashion brands in enhancing recall, attitudes, intentions and brand associations. A comparison has been made between high-end and low-end brands, creative versus non creative store window displays to identify differences in effects. The theory applied in this study has been used from creative advertising effects due to the lack of relevant research in store window display effects. Therefore this study is a contribution to the research of store window effects. The method used in this study compare fashion high-end brand with fashion low-end brand by placing the products in the store window display where the creativity has been manipulated.

The aim of this essay is to get knowledge and to evaluate if the media student has equal or evenbetter knowledge of information technology (IT) than his/her teacher. Today the student of IToften has knowledge of hard ware and soft ware sometimes even unknown to the teacher. Themain reason for this might be that IT hitherto has played no prominent part at the institutes ofteacher education. Continuing further education of IT for teachers is also eligible as IT still is arather new subject on the time table.To adopt an empiric approach to the problem I have used trough interviewing and questions bothteachers and students at two upper secondary schools in the province of Värmland. The schoolsare called ?A? and ?B? in my investigation.Does the teacher have enough knowledge to give the student relevant knowledge concerninghard ware as well as soft ware to handle the computer and to utilize its possibilities? How can theteacher act to comply with the students? claims and demands?IT-knowledge can be expressed in a complicated way but I have limited my investigation to therole of the teacher and how he/she manages to teach and instruct concerning a selected numberof soft ware and how the students evaluate their own knowledge compared to that of the teacher.My investigation shows that the teachers consider their knowledge relevant for their task asinstructors and teachers.

As the way of communicating and accessing information has changed radically over thepast decade so has the way the public libraries operate to reach the citizens. In thesetimes the demands of what a public library should be and offer the visitors havechanged. One should have the option to access the digital public library at any givenhour of the day, from anywhere in the world and at least have the same possibilities ofinformation as the visitors at the non-digital, "real" library.In this Master's thesis we will analyze and discuss the condition of the Swedish digitalpublic library of today, 2006, and the forward thinking work with the issues ofdevelopment in this matter. In order to do this we set out to examine the attitudetowards the public digital library among the staff at a small number of Swedish publiclibraries and their supporting institution, the county library. Moreover, the attitudesdefined have been compared to the actual status of the services and medias at the publiclibrary websites.In conclusion, we have detected a certain standardization of what the digital publiclibrary consists of today.

Title: The Competent teacher-external and internal frameworks and their influence on educational praxis. This thesis is about what kind of approach a teacher (may) consider when he is facing parameters that he can not do anything about, in this case represented by political, educational och social frameworks. One of the things a teacher can do to adapt to the situation is to see what possibilities he has to develop and expand his topic. The study is built on action research and was carried out during a nine months period on an upper secondary school in Malmö, Sweden. The object of reasearch is myself as a teacher and in my result I describe how various educational situations were handled.

AIM: To investigate  newly graduated nurses opinions on their introduction and preceptorship at Akademiska Sjukhuset in Uppsala. METHOD: A descriptive cross-sectional study using qualitative and quantitative evaluations. Data was collected by a questionnaire containing open and closed questions. Totally 42 participants took part in the study. Data analysis was obtained using descriptive statistics, thematic analysis and content analysis.

This thesis is based on design theory about how to build an application for the mobile platform, a scientific analysis and an application for grocery shopping and meal planning. The thesis also contains a valuation of the research and of the application. The valuation of the application was done by a usability test and an analysis of the results of the test.The application of the thesis has an easy navigation system, which is time saving and simple to use. Finding recipes with the associated ingredients is a quick fix. The search function can be used for searching freely after recipes as well as for separate ingredients. That makes it possible for the user to create own recipes from available ingredients.

An important input for defining such a strategy is to examine how the suppliers view their relation to the company today. For a company it is extremely important to have a good relation with the suppliers to secure long term supplies.

The purpose of this investigation is to show how politicians state primary goals and how they break them down into secondary objectives within the sector of Child-and education area. This is supposed to create a general image on how the targeting process is handled within the public activity. This case study is based on personal interviews that are conducted through semi structured questions.

AbstractThe control of quality standard ISO 9001 has made the internal audit to be experienced as police authority and paragraph control. Because of that, motivation for internal auditors is low. To counteract the experience, there is a possibility to integrate internal audit with improvements in company?s processes. Theory has shown that a qualified and Competent auditor can provide information that can help the organization's managements to make the right decisions that will improve product quality and result in new customer contracts.An opportunity to observe an internal and external audit at one of the case companies gave rise to this study.

Today it is mainly small and medium sized companies that choose to outsource parts of their ITdepartment in order to increase and become great. It is becoming increasingly common forcompanies to take the help of Competent suppliers so that they then can focus on their own corebusiness. These companies are taking advantage of modern methods to support systemdevelopment by outsourcing to other countries such as India. Choosing to outsource to othercountries poses new challenges for companies when they meet both cultural and organizationaldifferences. The purpose of the present study is to describe adult second language learners? experiences of mathematics learning from a past and contemporary perspective. What experiences in mathematics do they bring? What does it mean to learn Mathematics through their new language?The study is based on life-world narratives from five second language students with another native language than Swedish. Today they all study at a Swedish folk high school, at upper secondary level and they have previously studied at this level in Mathematics. The result shows that the meeting with the Swedish school and folk high school context is confusing.
