Utveckling av en beräkningsmodell för biogasproduktion

A growing interest for the climate and the environment has led to an increased interest forenvironmentally friendly and renewable energy sources, such as biogas. Planning new biogasplants requires a decision basis including facts about approximate amounts of biogas possibleto produce at the plant. The purpose of this thesis is to develop a model that calculates theapproximate biogas and digestate production from a planned or existing biogas plant.Developing the model required a literature review and studies of calculations concerningbiogas and digestate production performed by WSP Sweden AB. As a complement to themodel development, facts about substrates for biogas production were compiled through aliterature review. In addition the methane potential from selected materials was determined bybatch experiments.

Problem: Företag i näringslivet, universitet, högskolor och statliga organisationer satsar idag mycket pengar på att föreläsare och olika typer av expertis ska hjälpa dem. För företag i dagsläget är företagshälsovård ett sådant ämne. Det satsas pengar på olika typer av expertis för att man vill minska sina sjuktal. Vi menar dock att en stor del av dessa ekonomiska satsningar går till spillo på grund av att behoven hos de anställda ej matchas korrekt mot den expertishjälp som finns på marknaden. Det skapas inget intresse eller aktivt deltagande på företagen och därmed ger det inte heller någon positiv utdelning i relation till de satsade pengarna. Syfte: Vårt syfte med denna uppsats är att beskriva hur företagsledare blint satsar pengar på att förbättra hälsan hos sina anställda.

Utformning av hamnområdet i Arvika : stadsbild och offentliga miljöer

The harbour in Arvika is closed down and the industry that has been established in the area is now beeing wound up. A deepened comprehensive plan for the area is under progress in the municipality. The intentions are for instance that the harbour should be integrated with the city and that Arvika is facing a lake should be more apparent from the city center. The harbour should also contribute to a more attractive city. These intentions have hence been the starting point of my undergraduate theses, which has resulted in a proposal on how to develop the harbour. During the process I have analysed the city image, how the area is used today and the public places in the city centre.

Jällaskolans upper secondary School is situated on a big farm just outside Uppsala. The School is focused on agriculture, forestry, gardening, animal care and science. Jällaskolans staff has whished for a school garden for educational purpose where students can practice their gardening skills and learn more about plants. But most important, a specially adapted outside environment such as a garden, would be a great advantage for the students with special needs. This garden could even be an asset for other visiting school classes in the region.

Teknik för egen foderberedning :

There is an uncertainty in the market for grain forcing the meat/milk producers to review alternative feeds to a larger extent, in order to get control over the feed costs. This has led to that the meat/milk producers need to have a good knowledge regarding how the different feeds influences the animals and which technical equipment to use for handling. For those that produce their own feedmix, there is a need to put interest in new crops and their characteristics to be able to get the knowledge of what is required for their own production. It is beneficial to keep an open dialogue with advisors to be updated in new crops and new technology for feeding. When mixing feed at farm level, the legislation is not very clear since it the target group is large scale mixing plants. We have brought up the most important rules and regulations from the EU parliament Council as well as the ones from the Swedish Board of Agriculture (SJV), regarding feed mixing on farm and factory level. We have studied beans and pea at two different moisture levels, in order to evaluate how the moisture level affects the distribution of particles when milling with a plaitmill and a hammermill.

Varför hållbarhetsredovisning? : En studie inom tillverkningsindustri- och energibranschen

Varför väljer företagen inom tillverkningsindustri- och energibranschen att tillämpa frivilligt hållbarhetsarbete och tillhandahålla frivillig hållbarhetsredovisning? Vilka är deras drivkrafter? För de flesta förefaller det vara en självklarhet att det är en fråga om lönsamhet, men vilka bakomliggande faktorer kan ge en bredare förklaring till varför tillämpningen av hållbarhetsaspekterna är så pass relevanta för lönsamheten? Vi har studerat ett flertal påverkningsbara element för att ge läsaren en djupare förståelse kring varför företag arbetar med frivilliga hållbarhetsaspekter. Intressenternas, konkurrensförhållandets och enskilda kritiska händelsers påverkan är faktorer som ställts i fokus. Vidare har vi även granskat betydelsen av GRI:s riktlinjer för hållbarhetsredovisning och FN:s Global Compact innehållandes principer för en hållbar utveckling samt undersökt kopplingen mellan hållbarhetsaspekternas tillämpning och företagens vitala strävan efter livsnödvändiga resurser. Som stöd för våra resonemang har vi använt oss av fyra organisatoriska teorier, legitimitetsteorin, intressentteorin, den nyinstitutionella teorin och resursberoendeteorin.

Wetlands are important ecosystems and form habitat for both common and threatened species. In Sweden, as well in many other places on earth, there is a lack of wetlands. There is an expressed will to adjust this lack through restoration of wetlands with reduced function and through construction of new wetlands. Follow-ups and evaluations are important steps to optimize these actions. The wetland Vattenparken was constructed 1999 ? 2000 for treatment of surface water.

Svenska baljväxter från förr : en sensorisk beskrivning

Inledning: Baljväxter har flera miljö- och näringsmässiga fördelar och spås att bli framtidens föda. I Sverige finns det en värdefull kulturskatt som består av svenska baljväxter från förr som har samlats in av Programmet för odlad mångfald, POM. För att nå ut till konsumenter kan en sensorisk beskrivning vara en framkomlig väg som samtidigt ger ett mervärde för produkten och befrämjar en ökad konsumtion av baljväxter.Syfte: Syftet med detta examensarbete, inom ämnet mat och måltidskunskap, är att ta fram sensoriskt beskrivande ord för sex svenska baljväxter från förr. Examensarbetet ska sedan beskriva de utvalda svenska baljväxterna med hjälp av de framtagna sensoriskt beskrivande orden för att kunna presentera eventuella sensoriska skillnader.Material och metod: Sex olika sorters baljväxter ingick i undersökningen som bestod av en kvalitativ gruppdiskussion där sensoriskt beskrivande ord togs fram och ett andra steg en kvantitativ intensitetsbedömning av de olika sorterna. Båda undersökningarna gjordes av en expertpanel utvalda för sin kunskap om baljväxter.Resultat: De sensoriska ord som beskriver baljväxter är sötma, syrliga, beska, kastanj, nötig, smörig, frisk och fyllig smak samt med en varierande eftersmak.

During the past 30 years the fuels for energy production in heating and power plants have changed. Fossil fuels have decreased in usage whereas bio fuels in Sweden have increased with 60% since the 1970's. Different fuels affects combustion and the release of various substances and particles into the flue gas. This is caused by the diverse components and chemical structures of fossil fuels and bio fuels. When the flue gas leave the combustion chamber and enters the path to the chimney particles in the gas are being transported out of the combustion chamber.

Förändring av grönområden i Västerås tätort det senaste seklet : Konsekvenser av att grönområden förändras

This thesis was done after a request from the county?s administrative board of Västmanland to provide the board with a better understanding of how green areas have changed within Västerås municipality over time.The purpose and goal of this study was thus to measure and analyze how much of the green areas within Västerås municipality that have disappeared during the past one hundred years as well as to provide a review of previous studies regarding the importance of green areas for humans as well as the biological diversity.In order to answer these questions I have in this study used a combination of a literature study, cartographic analysis as well as a time series analysis. The computer software used to do the measurements of the green areas was ArcGIS which is a geographical information system.In the cartographic and times series anlaysis measurements and analysis was made of the district map of 1911, the economic map of 1950 and the property map of 2011. The measurements show that the municipality has grown with 46,3 km2 over the last one hundred years. New neighborhoods? have emerged and the municipality has expanded.

One of Sweden?s sixteen national environmental objectives strives to decrease the impact on the climate. By 2020, green house gas emissions should be 40 % less compared to the levels of 1990 and a minimum of 50 % of the energy consumption should come from renewable energy sources. Because of this there is a great need of increasing the production of renewable energy. This is where biogas comes in as a competitive alternative.

Automatisk genreklassifikation : en experimentell studie

This thesis aims at examining to what extent a few, algorithmically very easily extractable document features can be used to classify electronic documents according to genre. A set of experiments is therefore carried out, using only 11 such simple features in an attempt to classify 84 documents belonging to electronic academic journals into three manually identified genres: table of contents, article, and review. The 11 features are also divided into three sets, containing metrics of words and sentences; punctuation marks; and URL links, respectively. The performance when using these sets of features is then measured with regard to classification accuracy, using a k-NN classifier, four different values of k (1, 3, 5, 7), and both leave-one-out and 10-fold cross-validation. Best results are achieved when using all three feature sets (i.e.

Effect of botanically diverse pastures on the milk fatty acid profiles in New Zealand dairy cows

Botanically diverse pastures are commonly used in New Zealand to reduce the ruminant environmental impact by reducing the methane production from the rumen digestion. In order to evaluate the effects diverse pasture species have on the milk fatty acid profile seventy-two lactating Friesian-Jersey crossbred dairy cows were used in a randomised block design with two replicates of six treatments. Six different pasture mixtures were fed at a daily allowance of approximately 15 kg DM/cow/day. The mixtures were categorised as either a simple or a diverse pasture. The simple mixtures all contained white clover with the addition of either a standard diploid perennial ryegrass (RG), a diploid high sugar ryegrass (HS) or tall fescue (TF).

The boiling properties are an important quality issue of the potato. In order to obtain adequate boiling properties the growth of the potato needs to be controlled and interrupted at the right time. However, it is difficult to determine when to stop the growth. Specific gravity can easily be measured and can sometimes be used as a tool for estimating the boiling properties. This report discusses different aspects of the specific gravity of the potato and how it can be used as a tool to determine the appropriate time for vine killing.
