Examensarbetet Framtidens skolbänk som har utförts på avdelningen för maskinteknik vid Blekinge Tekniska högskola i samarbete med grundskolan Vittra Adolfsberg. Skolbänken är till för att möjliggöra ergonomiskt bra arbetsställningar i både sittande och stående position för alla elever oavsett längd och storlek. Dessutom ska skolbänken underlätta användandet av digitala undervisningsredskap såsom datorer och surfplattor. Examensarbetet består i att utveckla och konstruera en skolbänk som möjliggör detta utan att skolbänken blir för dyr eller för ömtålig för att kunna vara att reellt alternativ för alla skolor. Idag så är projektet på konceptstadiet men det finns definitivt möjligheter att någon variant på mitt förslag skulle kunna kommersialiseras då det i dagsläget inte finns några liknande produkter på marknaden..

The development of our time, is due to great progresses in technology and an enormous ex-plosion of knowledge, has lead to an increased effort of our attention as a result of a boundless torrent of information . Higher productivity and efficiency in our workplaces and homes crea-tes fewer opportunities for rest, leading to a community where stress has become a national disease. Recreation is an important part of our lives in order to be able to deal with stress and is now considered to be an essential resource when it comes to sustainable development. Green spaces are therefore today viewed to play a considerable roll for the national health. Nature has proven to have positive influence on man which leads to a decrease in blood pressure, an increase in power of concentration and lowered production of stress hormones.

Management consulting firms are dependent on attracting and recruiting new talents since the human capital has a vital role in these types of organizations. In the following years a new generation, Generation Y, will to a large extent enter the labour market. According to several studies this generation has different characteristics than older generations.This thesis examines management consulting firms? views of Generation Y and which strategies they use to attract and retain the generation. The fact that the subjects are unexplored led the authors to conduct a qualitative study of seven management consulting firms through in-depth interviews.

Potato late blight is one of the most important potato diseases worldwide. The disease is caused by an oomycete called Phytophthora infestans. The host range of P. infestans includes potato (Solanum tuberosum) and hairy nightshade (Solanum physalifolium). Hairy nightshade has recently established itself as an important weed in the southernmost part of Sweden.

Ett verklighetstroget vattenstänk i ett spel kan absolut ge en ökad realism i spelet och ge en förhöjd spelupplevelse.Detta arbete undersöker en teknik för att få en mer verklighetstrogen rörelse/beteende hos en vätska. Metoden bygger på att lösa Navier-Stokes algoritm som beskriver vätskors beteende på molekylär nivå, och beräkna en interaktion mellan partiklarna som representerar vätskan.Resultaten visar att en mer realistisk rörelse går att få fram jämfört med vad man kan få med ett enklare partikelsystem, men att antalet partiklar blir mycket begränsade. Prestanda hos datorer ökar ständigt och inom en snar framtid genom en utveckling av teknikern och närliggande metoder så kan den bli helt klart aktuell i nästa generations datorspel..

Science for Life Laboratory:s (SciLifeLabs) användarstöd inom bioinformatik brister inom en del områden som användarutbildning, organisation och kommunikation. För att kunna tillgodose den snabba utvecklingen av biotekniken (till exempel nästa generations sekvensering) och inte minst SciLifeLab är det viktigt att dessa brister åtgärdas. Efter att ha utfört en serie intervjuer med användare och leverantörer av SciLifeLabs sekvenseringstjänster har vi kommit fram till sex förslag för att täcka problemen inom de olika områdena. Förslagen sträcker sig från att vara enkla till mer omfattande att implementera. Resultaten är riktade mot SciLifeLabs sekvenseringsplattform och är utformade för att kunna implementeras i dagsläget samt anpassas till framtida utvecklingar. The purpose of this study is to investigate the tendencies among pupils concerning their attitudes towards History and some of the stated goals in the present and in the proposed course plan of History, since there is, probably, a change coming in 2011. The study is built on questionnaires answered by one hundred pupils at a Swedish upper-secondary-school. The results point to the fact that most of these pupils like history, but still they do not wish to make it an obligatory subject, which is a government proposal at the moment. Furthermore, the answers about sources, democracy, the use of History and the consciousness about History, have a clear tendency; there have been too little education about these areas during the pupils former nine years in school, still the pupils think that these are important areas to work with. Moreover, this study shows a disheartening picture when it comes to pupils knowledge of their cultural heritage. Only half of the pupils know which century Gustav Vasa lived in and just a third know what year universal suffrage was introduced in Sweden, two facts that ought to be set in most Swedes? mind..

This work presents the way exiled Tibetans I?ve met view gender and equality. The world is becoming increasingly global and in order to educate future world citizens it is important to make sure that they learn about gender and equality. Males and Females have different cultures and where manly is the norm female is the exception, but it is important to try and level out these differences while children are still in school. This work originates from studies of literature and several interviews with exiled Tibetans in the Indian city of Dharamsala. They are Tibetans with different roles in the exile-Tibetan society and also of different generations and gender.

The aim of this study was from the beginning to examine why a woman who has made an abortion comes back for another one. Why does the risk taking continue, despite the fact that abortion is perceived as emotionally hard? How can this be understood? This study consists of a literature review and semi-structured interviews. I wanted to interview women who had made a decision to have a repeated abortion, but it was difficult to get that kind of interviews. I then decided to interview the staff who meets women searching for an abortion to have their attitudes and experiences of women coming back for another abortion.

The purpose of this paper is to examine what problems cabbage growers have with the Swede Midge. The last few years the Swede Midge, Contarinia nasturtii, has become a larger problem for cabbage growers in several countries in Europe as well as in Sweden. In Canada the problems are so severe that the midge is classified as a quarantine pest and therefore certain rules have to be followed. I have collected facts of the biology, host plants and reproduction of the Swede Midge, as well as the growers experiences and the occurrence of the midge in Canada, Europe and Sweden. The Swede Midge is hard to control because of its short life cycle and the larvae are protected between the heartleaves of the plant. When the larva feeds on the growth point the plant becomes distorted, in some cases several heads develop or none at all. When the midge infests spring rape its flower buds become undeveloped and rosette like.

For today's young adults, the experience of being in the age period 18-30 years is, compared with previous generations, quite different. There is more room for exploring and experimenting when lifestyles and life-choices are no longer predetermined, and most things are possible for today's young people. The object of this thesis is to examine young people2019s experiences in the transition from youth to adulthood and to illuminate those experiences and difficulties that take place during this period. In the study, qualitative interviews were used in four focus groups, divided up in two age categories. The results reveal that the feeling of being an adult arises in the latter part of the period, and that variations between individuals are readily apparent.

The base for the study is laid during an internship at a regional office in Brussels. The study initially concentrates on the function and activities of different regional offices located in Brussels, in order to answer the core question.The main focus is to reveal an eventual change of cooperation patterns between different regional offices, and in particular the eventual redirection away from a main cooperation between offices deriving from the same national state.Through an empirical material, based on a series of interviews, an analysis is made using three hypotheses concerning the patterns of cooperation among regional offices.The notion of a coming change stated by, in particular, two older studies is used as a theoretical steppingstone with the conclusion that a change, in the way offices collaborate, has taken place..

This paper aims to examine whether there are any substantial differences between a generation of users born during the 1960?s and younger generation born during the 1990?s regarding the use of digital technologies connected to the Internet. Based on Marc Prensky?s theories on people born before and after 1980 saying those born before are not as natural when it comes to using digital technologies. We used diaries as a qualitative method to gather data from 16 respondents.
