As students of graphic design the craft of print is close to our hearts. One of the most essential mediums of the evolution of printing techniques is the poster. In a world where digital mediums are being utilized to a greater degree everyday, our love for the printed poster makes us wonder if the days of the poster are counted.What we did was to take a closer look at the role of the poster in promoting events. We focused on the Stockholm area and did qualitative interviews with three different event promoters. Live Nation which is an international live entertainment promoter, Dramaten which is one of Sweden?s most well respected theaters and Stockholm Live which is a stand up comedy promoter in Stockholm city.From doing this we learned that economics play an important part in defining the role of the poster.

The study aims to investigate the impact of industrialised homebuilding in the creation of the aestheticproperties of the dwelling architecture.The concepts of industrialised homebuilding and the aesthetic properties of the dwelling architecture aredefined by previously developed models. In these models, industrialised homebuilding is described byeight characteristic areas. The aesthetic properties of the dwelling architecture are described by sevenaesthetic qualities.The study was conducted as a qualitative study, and in-depth interviews were conducted. The companyJM AB is the analysed unit that the author of this report has chosen to study. JM employees and by JMhiredarchitects were interviewed.The report concludes that characteristic area planning and control of processes are considered to havepositive impact on the aesthetic qualities if the process is designed in such a way that the creations ofthese are admitted.

Syftet med studien är att analysera möjligheter och begränsningar med att använda programvaror baserade på öppen källkod för att förvalta en organisations e-post där utkontraktering inte är ett alternativ. Detta baseras på tio krav som identifierats som relevanta i relation till e-postlösningar. Inom studiens omfattning representeras OSS(Open Source Software)-lösningarna av programvarorna Zimbra Collaboration Suite, Citadel och Kolab Server. För att undersöka styrkor och svagheter hos dessa har hybridmetoden action case tillämpats. Genom ett interpretativt och iterativt närmande har representanterna ställts inför de identifierade kraven och deras förmåga att leva upp till kraven har analyserats.

The aim of this master thesis is to study how academic librarians can overcome the gap between themselves and the user. The gap, as we see it, is generated by the user's deeper knowledge surrounding her subject in comparison to the librarian. This knowledge gives the user possibilities to handle certain discourses attached to the subject and a knowledge how sub-subjects relate to each other within the main subject. At the same time the user is in need of help to find information within her subject, this need needs to be explained to the librarian as a search expert. The scope of this master thesis is to find how the librarian, tactically, can reach the users need despite lack of subject knowledge.

Svenska elevers låga matematikresultat i internationella jämförelser vittnar om att det krävs förändring i skolans matematikundervisning. Vissa skolor/kommuner har utvecklat matematikplaner i syfte att höja måluppfyllelsen. Syftet med studien är att få insikt i två av dessa matematikplaner och pedagogers tankar om hur de används och gynnar SUM-elever. I den teoretiska bakgrunden belyses Bedömning, God undervisning och Samverkan kopplat till Systematiskt kvalitetsarbete, och i relation till SUM-elever, vilka är i fokus. Studien har en kvalitativ ansats och är en fallstudie av två matematikplaner och hur de används. Gruppintervjuer valdes som datainsamlingsmetod. Resultatet visar att användandet av matematikplanerna och konsekvenserna av dem är relativt lika trots olikheterna i deras innehåll.

Syftet med denna studie är att utifrån ett destinationsutvecklingsperspektiv studera Stockholms hotellsektors samarbete med Stockholm Visitors board.Det visas i studien att turism har stor betydelse för världsekonomin och Sverige. Destinationer, liksom företag, konkurrerar med varandra för att locka turister. För att bli mer konkurrenskraftig kan destinationen genom samarbete effektivisera sin marknadsföring av platsen och få alla parter att dra åt samma håll. Stockholm Visitors Board som har huvudansvaret för marknadsföring av Stockholm är då undersökningsobjektet. Eftersom det finns ett mål att utöka antalet gästnätter i Stockholm blev hotellen i Stockholms stad det andra undersökningsobjektet.För att besvara studiens två frågeställningar har fyra hotell valts ut för att diskutera hotellens roll i samarbetet med Stockholm Visitors Board.Slutsatsen som kan dras efter studien är att Stockholm Visitors Board delvis inte nått ut till alla hotell vilket kan bero på bristande i kommunikation, hög kostnad samt att ett flertal hotell inte ser nyttan av samarbetet..

This thesis focuseses on archives and availability. The general public seem to have trouble finding their way tothe actual archives even though most archival institutions are easily accessed and provide interesting material.Maybe it is because archives are generally not as well known as other institutions within the ALM-area, eventhough the need to know ones history and identity is considered mainstream. Whether or not history takes off atthe archives is a complex question to answer. Archives, however, certanly contribute to our ideas of earlier timesand the concept of history.I have examined what archives do to make these contributions known to the general public and to whatextent they make their material avaliable. I have also looked into archival pedagogy since it is often connected toavaliability.

After the fall of the Iron Curtain the European Union was challenged partly by an institutionalized organization of the union, as well as by a socio-psychology awareness concerning the meaning of the European Union. The increase in European integration has generated a political Collaboration where national understandings in identities are constantly being exposed for reconstruction. This results in a collective European identity where states are united in diversity.National identities are created when boundaries are set up in a relation to other states. In these identity constructions there are thoughts and questions raised such as who we are and who we are not. Ukraine and the European Union has, during a long time, had diversified preconceptions concerning who has been the others.

Flera kommunala förvaltningar och andra instanser efterfrågar idag former för hur brukare aktivt kan involveras i skötsel av tätortsnära skog- och naturmarker. Erfarenheter finns, men delgivning av goda exempel och bra referenser är en bristvara. Genom detta examensarbete presenteras en form för hur skötsel av en tätortsnära skogs- och naturmiljö praktiskt kan genomföras tillsammans med de boende i närområdet. Förslaget för samarbetet har utformats via en fallstudie och baseras på intervjuer med boende och förvaltare inom ett avgränsat villaområde i Huskvarna. Studien redogör även för synpunkter och de krav som lyftes fram av respektive part inför samverkanssituationen, dvs. samverkanspotentialen och själva ramen för samverkan.

Resource-based learning or problem-oriented learning are teaching methods that are becoming more and more common in schools today. In order to make these teaching methods work there is a demand to make students information literate. The aim of this thesis is to find out how six teachers at six senior high schools apprehend their professional role of seeking, preparing and developing the course in history of literature. I have used phenomenography which is both a set of theoretical assumptions and a methodology. This means that by doing a limited number of qualitative interviews one is able to describe the variations of the conceptions that have emerged.

This thesis is performed in Collaboration with Kraftpowercon AB in Surte, Sweden. Focus has been on to identify the powerlosses in one of Kraftpowercons halfbridge DC-DC converters. First theoretical calculations are made, the calculations is verified with measurements of six different operation modes. In a later stage, methods like soft switching and synchronous rectifying are proposed to increase the efficiency for the converter. To achieve softswitching for the halfbridge, the LLC resonant converter topologies are implemented and examined.

Executive SummaryThis final thesis has examined the effects of an increased centralization and better coord­in­ation of the distribution logistics at ABB in Västerås. The company is today strongly decent­ralized and there is a minimum of Collaboration between the 20 business units. This is why the questions were raised; how could the business units coordinate outbound logistic activities and what effects would that provide. The obj­ect­ive of this final thesis is to provide basic data for a future decision-making which desc­r­ibe these effects.The report has mapped out the factors that are important to ABB in an evaluation of their logistic activities and how the outbound logistics work today. The four factors are cost efficiency, delivery service, environmental impact and logistics capability.

The aim with this study is to explore if and how linguistic learning takes places when four pairs ofstudents in grade one writes on the computer. Observations of eight students took place duringtwelve lessons to investigate what happened during their writing processes. This study isimportant because students? computer writing is a relatively new phenomenon in the Swedishprimary school.It is clear that the peer Collaboration creates a complex interaction that becomes the platform, andalso the prerequisite, for successful language training. When they were first introduced, they only had one function and that was to produce search results containing the string that the user had typed. Today, users want it to be able to spellcheck, produce more results and sort search results on specific fields as well. Preferably, all these features should not affect the performance as a whole.The reason to why these demands have come up is that users are getting more and more used to internet services as a whole and they want everything to be as easy as possible.The user ability has become a substantially more important area in the computer industry and this needs to be taken into account when it comes to B Locket AB and its search engine.

This is a technical report about cement stabilization in general and the stabilizationprocess during the construction of a warehouse in Halmstad, Sweden in particular and iswritten at the section for economy and technology at Halmstad University inCollaboration with NCC Anläggning.NCC encountered variations in compression strength in the stabilized material on the firstwarehouse that they constructed for the company Biltema. In our report we used thestabilization process of the second warehouse for the same company as a reference todetermine what could be done to get a more homogeneous result for future projects.We also looked in to what testing method is the most suitable to determine the result ofthe stabilization.After interviews with people involved in the process and visits on the work site we havecome to the conclusion that the most probable cause to the variations in compressionstrength is segregation in the ballast material. This segregation can occur in severaldifferent occasions in the process such as during the production, transportation andhandling on the work site.Other causes for the variation can be improper compaction, overlapping stabilization insome places and different duration of hardening of the samples that are tested.The best way to do in situ test of the stabilized material is to do seismic investigations asthose are non-destructive tests in comparison to taking core samples and you can discoverany cracks or air bubbles in the material..
