In supporting an efficient way to gather and develop contact information for the Uppsala Association of Technology Physicist alumni, it is crucial to have in place an adequate and user-friendly system allowing the continuous collection and storage of such contact information. This can achieved by the creation of a website where alumni can enter information about themselves and where such information in turn is stored in a database. A database containing relevant tables has been developed in MySQL. In utilizing phpMyAdmin, the programming language PHP and Web Server Apache, a fully functional website to be included on the Association's website has been created..

När en helikopter befinner sig i brownout saknar besättningen referenser till omvärlden vilket kan försämra det spatiala medvetandet. Om besättningen inte har koll på helikopterns position i luftrummet kan det leda till skador på både materiel och besättning i samband med landning. Denna rapport undersökte, på ett övergripande plan, vilka möjligheter sensorer inom det elektromagnetiska spektret hade att bidra med information till det spatiala medvetandet. Rapporten fann att sensorerna behöver vara anpassningsbara till följd av stoftmolnets vida varierande karaktäristik. Sensorerna hade möjlighet att generera en bild av landningsplatsen före brownout inträffar.

This study was carried out at the request of the bio energy company Naturbränsle. The company handles annually 750 000 m3 of chips from logging residues from a large area, from Östergötland in the south to Härjedalen in the north. In that area, about 50 bio fuel plants are customers. When Naturbränsle deliver chips from logging residues to their customers, the moisture content varies from 30 % to 60 %. The aim of the study was to sort out the affecting factors on the moisture content in the chips during handling and storage processes.

Industrial buildings are increasing all over Sweden. Farmers are building new modern facilities and the government chooses to build new halls to invest i youth sports. Glulam is the most common framework but there are limitations because of the transport. Therefore, there is a need to develop new solutions to increase the use of glulam.The maximum torque in the eaves was found in the frame with a roof pitch of 18 degrees and a wingspan of 25 meters. Using hand calculations according to Eurocode and comparison with the computer software StatCon, the maximum torque, shear force and utilization rate is calculated.

This reports purpose is to give a general view on how to handle information collectedthrough photogrammetry and laser scanning with the help of UAS. This makes it important to feed them with good forage, especially when feeding with silage. The process of making silage is very complex and requires a careful handling to be successful. The fundamental idea is to create an anaerobic environment in the herbage to favour the desirable micro-organisms, in this case the lactic acid bacteria. To curb greenhouse gases and mitigate climate change is one of the biggest challenges human society face today. Carbon dioxide (CO2) has accumulated rapidly in the atmosphere as a consequence of burning of fossil fuels and deforestation. The aim of this study is to explore two methods to store carbon dioxide in geological formations and biological sinks. The aim is also to discuss the two mitigation options from a sustainable perspective and whether it can lead to a better environment and benefits for local and global societies. The research questions are: Which method to store carbon dioxide, geological or biological, is the most effective? Which method to store carbon dioxide, geological or biological, has the greatest potential to promote sustainable development for local communities?The method used is a comparative case study and presents four case studies that explore the potential for CO2 storage offshore in Norway and Brazil; and in tropical forests in Mexico and Brazil.

Användandet av datorn i vardagen har gjort att behovet av att lagra data har ökat med 100 % varje år. Den exponentiella ökningen av information beror mestadels på det ökade användandet av Internet . För att hantera mängden av data så måste IT-enheter börja fundera på att centralisera sin datalagring. I rapporten ges det en beskrivning på nätverkteknologier och kriterier för hantering av datalagring. För att beskriva verkligheten intervjuades två medelstora organisationer som har infört nätverkslagringslösning.

Denna fallstudie har ett hermeneutiskt förhållningssätt och behandlar upplevda för- ochnackdelar med ett affärssystem i och utanför molnet. Sex personer från fem olika företag hardeltagit i kvalitativa intervjuer som har varit av semistrukturerad art. Syftet med dessaintervjuer har varit att ta del av användares och leverantörers uppfattningar rörandeaffärssystem som molntjänst jämfört med ett mer traditionellt affärssystem. Två av företagenlevererar båda tjänsterna och de övriga tre är olika användare. De olika kategorier som jagdelat in frågorna i har baserat sig på tidigare och relaterad forskning rörande affärssystem ioch utanför molnet.Studiens slutsats visar på att de är rätt jämt mellan upplevda för- och nackdelar med ettaffärssystem i molnet kontra ett affärssystem utanför.

I dagens informationssamhälle pågår en växande trend av molnbaserade tjänster. Vid implementering av molnbaserade tjänster används metoden Virtualisering. Denna metod minskar behovet av antal fysiska datorsystem i ett datacenter. Vilket har en positiv miljöpåverkan eftersom energikonsumtionen minskar när hårdvaruresurser kan utnyttjas till sin fulla kapacitet. This work has been done to develop a plan for a future dairy barn at theGästgivaregården and to show the space needed for cows and replacement heifers. Itwould also show the storage that will be needed. The design was largely based on resultsfrom studies on six different farms, but also the facts that are taken from research papersand articles in order to compare theory with practice. Because some farms only whereinterviewed by phone I have used a query form to obtain comparable resultes.The aim is to build a new barn with Automatic milking. I've drawn a milking stable for120 milking cow and replacement heifers with the capability to house up to 140 milkingcows if the farm would expand in the future.Calculations of feed amounts and space requirements have been made to see how manyhectares are needed to supply the cows and replacement heifers with feed and to knowabout what size of storage space is required.The investigations made in this writing are to answer questions about the AMS-unit`sposition and how to best maintain a good health status in the herd.

Huvudsyftet var att ta reda på vad förskolebarn kan och tänker kring vattnets kretslopp och vattnets betydelse för allt liv på jorden. Samtidigt syftade undersökningen till att ta reda på pedagogernas arbetssätt och tankar kring dem. Undersökningen har genomförts med hjälp av kvalitativa intervjuer med såväl pedagoger som barn. Intervjuerna har spelats in och sedan transkribetats för att därefter analyseras. Resultatet av undersökningen visar att barnen har god kännedom om vattnets kretslopp och vattnets betydelse för livet på jorden.
