Background: Parents attitudes about illness and health reflects on their children. When the child has acute pain the parents often reacts with fear and confusion. The demands on the parenting role increase and therefore it´s important that the nurse show consideration for the parents experience and practise family nursing. Aim: The aim of this study was to illuminate parents experiences in connection with their child´s acute pain in a caregiving situation. Method: This literature study is based on ten scientific articles.

This thesis has been performed at Clinical Chemistry at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg. The purpose of the project was to investigate new and alternative ways to determinate synthetic cannabinoids by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Currently, the possibilities to quantify synthetic cannabinoids are very limited. This can lead to an increased use of synthetic cannabinoids as the risk of detection is low, which may be known by drug users. The synthetic cannabinoids are sold mixed with different herbs and have varying names like Spice Gold, Spice Silver, K2, Smoke and Pot-pourri.The synthetic cannabinoids analyzed were JWH-018 and JWH-073, which are commonly found in seized Spice material.

Psykisk ohälsa är ett stort folkhälsoproblem världen över och problemen förväntas öka. Sjuksköterskans attityd och bemötande spelar viktig roll för patientens välmående och kan även påverka fördröjning av diagnos och behandling. Syftet var är att belysa sjuksköterskans attityd och bemötande av personer med psykisk ohälsa inom somatiken. Metoden var en litteratur studie där åtta artiklar av kvalitativ och kvantitativ design användes som underlag. Artiklarna hittades i databaserna PubMed, CINAHL och PsycINFO.

During this time the parents go through a crisis and the nurse had a central role to help them through the hard time. Aim: The aim of this study was to illuminate parent´s experiences of living with a child with a cancer diagnose during the illness. Method: A literature -based study, qualitative content analysis of 14 qualitative articles.

Electroretinography is an examination method where the function of the retina is objectively assessed. In 2002 the European College of Veterinary Ophthalmology (ECVO) published a proposition to a standard on how to perform ERG examinations, to facilitate comparison of results and to make it possible to repeat examinations. The purpose of this study was to validate parts of the canine ERG protocol suggested by the ECVO. Our principal aim was to study if there is any interference at the recommended stimulus intervals for dark-adapted rod- and combined rod-/cone responses. The results show that there is an effect on the a- and b-wave amplitudes when different stimulus intervals are employed. When all examined intervals are pooled, there is an increase in the median b-wave to each consecutive dim, white (rod) stimulus in a series of four.

Aim: The aim of the literature study was to describe; Influence on sexuality and the daily life for men with prostatecancer and their experience of informationneeds. Method: The material for the literature study was searched through databases; 13 scientific articles were selected and two articles through manual search, all 15 articles were examined. Syftet med studien var att beskriva sjuksköterskans attityder till patienter med självskadebeteende. Metoden var en litteraturstudie och datamaterialet bestod av nio vetenskapliga artiklar, publicerade mellan åren 2000-2007. Det analyserade materialet bildade tre teman som visade sjuskköterskors attityder till patienter med ett självskadebeteende: Ej rätt till vård, Erbjuder vård utan hopp om förändrat beteende och Rätt till vård.Det framkom att känslor som vrede, rädsla, misslyckande och hopplöshet var kopplade till attityderna till patienter med självskadebeteende.
