Vad påverkar en kommuns beslut att bli en "Fairtrade city"? : En studie av Sveriges kommuner

The aim of this thesis is to examine the properties of the municipalities in Sweden that influence the choice of being a certified Fairtrade city. The independent variables which are used in the statistical analysis are municipal governance, local tax rate, whether there is an university and/or university college in the municipality, average income and higher education in the municipality. The variables are examined by logistic regression. Since there are no statistical data on ethical procurement, this exogenous variable isn?t included in the regression.

Problemformulering: Hur arbetar företagen i studien strategiskt med att attrahera arbetskraft via sitt arbetsgivarvarumärke ? Employer Branding?Syfte: Uppsatsens syfte är att beskriva samt undersöka hur företag arbetar strategiskt för att attrahera potentiell arbetskraft. Uppsatsen kommer även att jämföra om strategierna skiljer sig åt mellan företag som är verksamma inom olika branscher.Metod: För att genomföra uppsatsen används en kvalitativ undersökningsstrategi. Empiri samlades in genom kvalitativa intervjuer som genomförts utifrån en semistrukturerad intervjuguide.Empiri: Empiri har samlats in genom intervjuer som kategoriserats under fyra olika teman internt perspektiv, extern perspektiv, kommunikation och mål. De deltagande företagen i denna studie är företag X, Hi3G Access och Systembolaget.

Hållbar utveckling- En textanalys av miljöpolicy i lokal och nationell kontext

Sustainable development is a concept that has been interpreted in a multitude of ways in different contexts. This essay argues that the discourse of "ecological modernization" has strongly influenced the way in which the concept of ?sustainability? has been constructed in Swedish environmental policy. This interpretation of the concept of sustainability offers the possibility of combining economic growth with ecological sustainability which stands in contrast to the assumptions of Deep Ecology and Green Theory. The aim of this essay is to explore how the concept of sustainability is being formulated in environmental policy both on a national level and in the city of Malmö.Considering these issues in a specific context, this essay focuses on city planning that is as an important instrument to promote urban sustainability both on national and local levels.

Insider eller Outsider? : Ofullständiga grundskolebetyg ? om stämplings- och exkluderingsprocesser ur ett livsberättelseperspektiv

There are an increasing number of pupils leaving school with incomplete grades. Research indicates that the causes to this phenomenon may be individual- as well as school related and complicated to illuminate. The purpose of the study is to examine the processes of exclusion that have resulted in pupils´ incomplete degrees. Two research problems have been formulated. The first one is about the identification of exclusion and branding factors for pupils with incomplete degrees.

Den senaste tiden har en mängd samarbeten, eller så kallade co-brandings, mellan olika företags varumärken vuxit fram. Avsikten är att förstärka sitt eller sina varumärken med hjälp av ett annat varumärke som är förknippat med någonting unikt. Hur bedömer man resultatet av denna co-branding? Har det egna varumärket förstärkts eller har det försvagats? För att klargöra detta resultat måste varumärkets Brand Equity mätas. Med brand equity menas det kapital som varumärket representerar.

Intern employer branding : En kvalitativ studie av hur medarbetare skapar förståelse för ett arbetsgivarvarumärke genom intern kommunikation

Studien behandlar intern employer branding, företags interna arbete i syfte att skapa ett attraktivt arbetsgivarvarumärke. Intern employer branding innebär hur företagets ledning genom kommunikation förmedlar innehållet i arbetsgivarvarumärket till de anställda för att utveckla en arbetsstyrka som är trogen organisationens värderingar och målsättningar. Syftet med studien var att bidra till en ökad kunskap för hur medarbetares förståelse av den egna organisationens varumärke formas inom ramen för organisationens interna kommunikation.  Resultatet samlades in genom en kvalitativ metod med sex intervjuer av medarbetare från två organisationer. Vidare tolkades resultatet utifrån ett analytiskt ramverk och behandlades bland annat utefter en teoretisk utgångspunkt som berör kommunikativt lärande. Studiens resultat visade att företagen kommunicerar arbetsgivarvarumärket till medarbetarna via olika kommunikationskanaler på ett flerdimensionellt och tydligt sätt.

GULLBERGSKAJ ? PARADIS? En exposé över drömmarnas kaj

The purpose of this graduate thesis is to illustrate what could be theeffects of urban renewal carried out in a too hasty manner, the pointbeing that there could be features which have (yet) not been identifiedand therefore are lost if the planning of the city is not given theadequate amount of time and resources.Through a case study located at the wharf of Gullberg (Gullbergskaj)the significance of urban fringes and areas without too strict of aplanning are highlighted. Some guidelines to successful and consideratecity development are somewhat suggested.The survey is mainly based on two types of sources: contemporaryphotography and interviews with a number of people who are allresidents or tenants at the Gullbergskaj. Their testimonies regardingGullbergskaj and their use of this particular environment are used to drawconclusions of the qualities, which are not the typical cultural-historicalqualities but rather a quality defined by the user (of the quay), held by thissection of the Göta älv shoreline.This thesis is also concerned with the potential impact on the qualities ofGullbergskaj, was it to be the object of city renewal.The results of the study are compared to debating articles published in thenewspaper Göteborgs-Posten for a wider understanding of Gothenburg as atrademark, and the public opinion regarding the city planning related toCentrala älvstaden..

The study shows that these concepts can be expressed in several ways, andthat an awareness of them does not necessarily control the view of the city..

Utformning av riktlinjer för trafiksäkerhet i mindre stadscentrum : fallstudier i Bollnäs och Sandviken

Several cities have implemented various projects to improve traffic safety in city centers.During 1970s and 1980s the city centers changed as the suburbs grew and large shopping centers were located outside the center. At the same time, several projects were initiated with construction of pedestrian streets and restriction of traffic in the center. In year 1994,shared-used areas were introduced in Sweden and these areas are often used in center environments.In Sweden, municipalities are responsible for integrating security in public places and in comprehensive plans and detailed development plans. The National Board of Housing,Building and Planning is the authority for administrating planning issues and develop general guidance about planning. Traffic is one of their key issues, although today there are no concrete guidelines from the National Board of Housing, Building and Planningfor the design of traffic safety in city centers.Traffic safety in city centers affects many people because the city center is a public place.It is therefore important that there are current guidelines available that are helpful for changes and improvements in traffic safety in the city center.The purpose of this report is to formulate guidelines for planning city centers from a traffic safety perspective.

Planseparerad spårtrafik i Göteborg

The City of Gothenburg has an urgent need to upgrade its public transport. The capacity of its light rail transit (LRT) has reached maximum capacity within the inner city limits years ago. The construction of an underground metro will be very expensive and time consuming due to the soft clay beneath the city. The apparent need of developing another type of mass rapid transit (MRT) is urgent. An elevated metro have turned out to be a success in Greater Vancouver, but is it possible for the system to operate well in Gothenburg with its narrow streets and current land use; will its route coexist with the current LRT or will the noise disturb people too much?.

Att marknadsföra regioner : En kvalitativ studie om hur kommuninformatörerna i Höga Kusten Norrköping/Linköping, Östra Småland/Öland upplever samarbetet mellan regioner sett ur ett marknads­föringsperspektiv.

Trots att stress tidigt i livet kan leda till ohälsa i vuxenlivet finns det förhållandevis få studier av psykobiologiska aspekter av stress bland ungdomar i Sverige. Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka sambandet mellan självrapporterad stress (n=412) och salivkortisol (n=278) hos friska skolungdomar i årskurs 8 och 9 i två Stockholmsskolor. Vidare undersöktes könsskillnader och skillnader mellan årskurser i självrapporterad stress respektive salivkortisol. Data samlades in via ett självskattningsformulär som mäter generell stress samt genom salivprover tagna vid fem tillfällen under en dag. Resultaten visade på ett signifikant samband mellan självrapporterad stress och salivkortisol (r=0,29) vid en tidpunkt.

Varumärkeskommunikation och positionering med en begränsad marknadsföringsbudget : Marknadsföring med små medel i ett bilpoolsföretag

This Thesis deals with the two concepts branding and position, more precisely how companies with a small marketing budget needs to work with these two concepts. The purpose of this thesis is to understand how these companies are able to assert a position  on their specific market. The thesis treats theories and empirical data to be  able to answer the purposes of the thesis and for the authors to be able to give recommendations of how companies in this situation can improve their marketing strategies. To be able to give these recommendations a more in depth study had been made of a carsharing company, Sunfleet. This to be able to se how a specific company works with branding and positioning as well as what can be improved.
