Summary:Teenage girls? choice of dropping out or complete a treatment.The purpose of this study is to investigate, from a client?s perspective, why teenage girls (age 13 to 17) drop-out or complete a treatment at Familjehuset in Karlstad, Sweden. We also want to investigate if the teenage girls? experiences coordinate with the social workers opinion of why the teenage girls choose to drop-out or complete the treatment. Earlier research shows that many factors influence the client?s choice.

Det gemensamma bästa kan inte förutsättas : En berättelse om Grupptalan mot Skandia

The subject for this paper is the Class Action against Skandia Association, a civil organization formed in 2003 with the aim of claiming compensation for some 1.2 million life insurance customers. The background to its formation was one of the largest financial scandals in Sweden in recent times, involving a number of questionable affairs within the insurance corporation Skandia and its subsidiaries, most notably the life insurance company Skandia Liv. The interests of both the stake- and stockholders of the company seem, in certain ways, to have been grossly misrepresented. The scandal, as well as the reaction it spawned, pose a number of questions. In this study, we focus on two: a possible, and in many ways apparent crisis in the representation of interests in Swedish society, and the role of civil society in upholding the balance between these interests.We argue that what is often held to be the ?greed? or ?immorality? of individuals in scandals such as Skandia is, to a great extent, a mere reflection of the ?rational? underpinnings of modern-day capitalism.We find that trust has been a key mechanism of control in the relationships between consumers and agents in pension and life insurance markets, and that ?the Swedish model? that distinguished post-WWII Swedish society was a model heavily based on trust towards existing models of bureaucratic governance.

Angel Thesis : En spel produktion

Detta projekt har varit ett som har haft både sina höga och låga punkter. Vi påbörjade detta projektet med viljan att skapa ett spel som var vårt, som representerade oss och som vi vill spela. Vad vi slutligen bestämde oss att göra var ett spel som fokuserade på story och spel-känsla som hade en mystisk stämning och sin egen stil. Detta tillsammans med ett par bra koncept och idéer så påbörjade vi att arbeta på Angel Thesis, ett action RPG. Vi har under projektets gång stött på många svårigheter, något som om och igen testat gruppens moral.

This study critically reviews four works of the artist Joanna Rytel with the intention to find out if and how she is provocative. In order to do that I have studied the reactions on these works, mainly through press material, which differs from letters to the editors and comments posted on discussion forums that's also been used. My conclusion is that Rytel provokes not just because of her choice of subject, but because of her concept of 'art' doesn't agree with the general public's, i.e. 'art' is supposed to be something merely beautiful.  The purpose of this study was to study social work models to explain addiction in the assessment of response to people with addictions. This study investigated how social workers' explanations are shaped by their experiences, theoretical points influenced by research in a discretion is affected by organizational conditions, manuals, evidence-based practice and national guidelines in an investigative process. The material in this study has emerged through interviews with four social workers in the social services department for addiction and dependence. The essay is a qualitative study with personal interviews as the basis for the result. The study begins with a description of addiction and dependence, current laws on the matter, and officer's work.

According to the GameFlow theory, it is one of seven key tenets of evaluating and implementing a successful game design. Yet, certain multiplayer online games are designed in a fashion that in some cases seem to break immersion, where the player is frequently put out of action, sometimes for minutes on end. In this study, using online questionnaires, we discover that players, despite claims otherwise, seem to be in several ways affected negatively by this breaking of immersion.

"Jag skulle vilja att syv förklarade mer, liksom..." : En kvalitativ studie om samtalets betydelse för utlandsfödda elever

Syftet med uppsatsen är att undersöka vilken betydelse och påverkan samtalet med studie- och yrkesvägledaren har för utlandsfödda elever med icke svenska föräldrar som är sent anlända till Sverige. En kvalitativ forskningsmetod har används. Fakta har inhämtats via elevintervjuer bestående av åtta informanter från en mindre kommun. Urvalet utgjordes av grundskoleelever i årskurs nio som gjort sitt gymnasieval samt gymnasieelever från årskurs ett och årskurs tre. Resultat och analys indikerar att eleverna tycker att samtalet är betydelsefullt, eleverna får svar på frågor, får faktainformation och detta leder till ett bättre beslutsunderlag i valsituationer.

Företagsfusioner : en studie av aktörer, motiv och drivkrafter

Fusionernas antal och storlek har ökat för varje år, och företagsvärlden har präglats av en fusionsyra som är frapperande. Det faktum att fusioner förekommer i så stor utsträckning samtidigt som det påvisas att en majoritet av företagsaffärerna misslyckas förefaller oss vara en paradox. Syftet med uppsatsen är att utifrån ekonomisk teori studera de motiv och drivkrafter som ligger bakom företagsfusioner, och diskutera de olika aktörernas medverkan i fusionsprocessen. I uppsatsen diskuteras också i viss mån vilket utfallet av en fusion blir beroende på vilka motiv och drivkrafter som föreligger. De teorier som används är dels teorier avseende motiv och drivkrafter bakom fusioner, dels appliceras public choice teorin och principal-agent teorin på fusionsprocessen och dess aktörer.Detta beroende på att teorierna behandlar den enskilda individens nyttomaximering och problemet med informationsasymmetri.

In recent years coaching has become an increasingly popular phenomenon outside of the sports world. More and more people have found coaching to be a helpful tool for achieving greater performance and fulfillment in their lives. This thesis is a comparative literature study of three books about coaching where the authors use different theoretical bases to explain and teach coaching. The aim of the thesis is to explain how coaching as a phenomenon is described and compare these descriptions as well as to look at the ideals and norms that are produced and reproduced in the use of coaching. The study compares the three books from six different themes and shows that, in the use of coaching, the ideal of a rational and action oriented individual is constructed and the aim for this individual is some form of success.

Today, about 15 to 20 percent of Sweden?s total emission of carbon dioxide can be traced to the household sector. By examining apartment blocks in a life cycle perspective, the origin of the carbon dioxide emission has been charted and analyzed. This information has been used to create a computational model that calculates the total emission of carbon dioxide from a specific apartment block. The results from the analyzed apartment blocks indicate that both the use of energy and the emission of carbon dioxide have been reduced since the 1960s. Through the examination of building materials, it is possible to lower the emission of carbon dioxide that origins from the construction phase of an apartment block.

Ideageneration was one relative unexplored area for the group and the interest of finding effectivemethods was required, the company understood what an effective handling of ideas couldcontribute in the pursuit of more and pleased customers.The purpose of the master thesis has been to study and to map which methods are used inorder to carry out idea generation.

Detta projekt har producerats i samarbete med Abu Garcia i Svängsta, Blekinge. Vårat projekt är en interaktiv produkt presentation gjord i flash med inslag av 3d, video och ljud. Våran tanke är att användaren ska kunna se hur en Ambassadeur Record fiskerulle ser ut både på insidan och utsidan, hur den fungerar och vad som gör den så unik. Det finns också video filmer som beskriver tillverknings processen, och hur man som förstagångs användare använder en Ambassadeur rulle. Design och bakgrundsljud är anpassad så att den ska väcka en känsla av fiske och fridfull utomhus miljö..
