Förskolans matematik : De yngsta förskolebarnens matematiserande i den fria leken
This study aims to visualize the youngest preschool children matematical learning in the free game. In my study the mathematics will be analyzed based on the interactions children participate in, and how children experience mathematics through the lived body.I have chosen to undertake a qualitative research in form of observations. Through this research method, I would approach the child's perspective, which means that i analyze the material that the children in the observations reveals to me as a researcher.The results of the study show that children experience mathematics skills both through the lived body, as well as in interaction situations between children. The mathematics are around among us, all the time. This is very important to take into account for children's continued development of mathematical knowledge..
Barns sociala samspel vid anvÀndning av digitalteknik i förskolan
The use of digital technology in preschool has been a question aboutif it will be used. By the new curriculum for preschool, it now is a question about how it will be used. My experience shows that many pedagogues are still afraid that the children will miss the interaction whit other children when they are using digital technology.The aim of the study is to see if it is social for the children to use digital technology in preschool.This study is made by inquiry, qualitative interviews and observations.My result shows that children are social active with each other while using digital technology. Turn taking and time determines who will play and what the conditions are. The thesis concludes that children perform social interaction when using digital technology.
Bibliotekspersonalens arbete med boksamtal för barn i 9-14 Ärs Älder
The main aim of this thesis is to study how and in which way the library personnel works with reading groups and their view of reading groups. I also want to study which role the governing- and policy documents have in the library personnel?s work. The following questions were asked.Which similarities and differences between the different library personals outlooks and acting can be interpreted from the following aspects:? Promoting reading, book selections and the leader's role?? To talk about personal subjects and to create possibilities for personal growth and increased empathy?? To promote language development and reading comprehension?The methods used in the study are a combination of interviews and observations.
Bokens roll i (för)skolan : En studie om barnlitteraturens och höglÀsningens roll i förskolan, förskoleklass och i skolÄr 1
Syftet med vÄr studie var att undersöka om, hur samt nÀr förskollÀrare och lÀrare i förskolan, förskoleklass och skolÄr ett anvÀnder sig av barnböcker och höglÀsning i det pedagogiska arbetet med barn, samt deras medvetna tanke bakom bokval. Vi var Àven nyfikna pÄ vilka yttre förutsÀttningar (miljön) det finns för att skapa lÀslust och lÀsro. Resultaten förvÀntades ge klarhet i hur sambandet mellan barnbokens stÀllning och dess anvÀndande sÄg ut. Resultaten visade att förskollÀrare och lÀrare vÀrderar barnbokens roll i verksamheten högt och mÄnga visade pÄ en medvetenhet om de förtjÀnster anvÀndandet av den för med sig. Detta Äterspeglades dock inte helt i den dagliga verksamheten, dÀr barnlitteraturen frÀmst erhöll en funktionell roll.

In this essay I have studied how the kid?s school start are described in picture books. The studied questions are: How the school is described in these selected picture books; what feeling does the main character have into the school start; how the teachers are described in this selected picture books and how are the power relationship described in these selected picture books?The method I have chosen for this essay is a discourse analysis of seven selected picture books with the meaning of starting school. All books studied are written during the 1990 and forward.

This master?s thesis deals with the issue of children?s theatre at the public library. I want to examine what purpose children?s theatre play for the children according to the children?s librarians, what different factors that may influence the purchase of plays to the public library and what the children?s librarians think of the children?s theatre at the public library at present and in the future. Interviews have been conducted with four children?s librarians, at different libraries, who are somehow involved in the purchase of children?s plays to the library.

The purpose with this study was to find out about the preschool toddler?s peer-cultures. I also wanted to understand how these peer-cultures were shown.My questions are as following:What is it that the children interpretive and reproduce in their play?How do children gain access to play?How do children exclude each other?What position of status can be seen in childrenÂŽs play?I used observations as the method to find the answer to these questions. These observations where implemented during five occasions at two different preschools.

The purpose for this Masters thesis is to describe childrens librarians work in supplying literature to children with emphasis on easy-reader materials. Our main questions are: · What do librarians believe characterizes an easy-reader book, and what do they base their decision on when classifying a book as easy-to-read? · How have the libraries in our study solved the hands-on difficulties associated with easy readers childrens literature? · Which factors do librarians consider to be important when supplying literature to children that are not used to reading or are not good readers? The theories we have used are Aidan Chambers Reading Circle and Karner Smidts view on the librarians professional roles when supplying literature. We have used a case study method, which means that we have gathered information through observation, objective papers and interviews. This has been done at six libraries.

In this essay there will be four text books from grade 1 studied, the first one are from the year 1976 and it will be going forward to the year 2012. The aim of this study is to see how the genders are depicted and represented, as well as what roles the genders are given. I do also want to see if there is a notable change in this over time. I will be doing a study based on the quantity of the contents, and I will also be doing a critical discourse analysis.The result of the study showed that there were more gender-based constructions that referred to women in all of the four books, which indicates that women are represented more often in these reading books. It is most common to portray the genders in their stereotypical roles, which again are present in society, but sometimes these roles are depart from what?s present in society.

The aim of this master thesis is to investigate the development on the Swedish book market for the beginning of the 21st century. During the 21st century a lot of things have happened on the Swedish market for library books. Twenty years ago in reality only one company existed that could deliver books with the demanded equipment to the libraries, but in year 2010 there are four companies offering the same service. Other news during this time is bookshops on internet. We found this development interesting and therefore decided to contact the four companies as well as six libraries to find out what they thought of the new situation.

The starting point for the present study is that the physical environment can enhance the learning processes of children. We want to contribute to more focus being placed on this within library and information sciences. Our main aim is to illustrate how the physical environment can facilitate the learning of children. In order to achieve our aim, we examine a concrete physical environment, namely the children?s department at the main library in Kungsbacka.

AbstractIn this essay, I have performed a study on peer cultures and how these peer cultures are expressed in a group of pre-school children. My questions are as following:What positions/power positions can be seen in children?s play, and how will these be expressed?How do the children gain access to play?How do children act when they want to exclude other children?In order to understand this I have chosen to do observations as a method. In order to investigate these questions I chose to spend six whole mornings with a group of pre-school children, closely observing their behavior. The focus was on children, three years of age or older.

The purpose of this thesis is to investigate peoples experience when listening at audio books. During recent years the use of audio books has increased significantly. With that knowledge and the fact that this is an almost unexplored area within Library- and Information science our interest grew even stronger. The thesis is based on two different theories. To be able to place audio books in a context we have applied a media- consumption perspective by asking questions like when, where and how the media-consumption takes place.

There is an ongoing discussion in Sweden about child perspective and child?s perspective.The municipalities? family law units are required to include these perspectives in their investigations. But how do they affect the outcome of custody investigations? This essay addresses that issue. I have looked at how much say children have and how much they participate in their custody investigations.
FörskollÀrares förhÄllningssÀtt till genus i barnböcker
I förskolan sker det hela tiden möten mellan barn och vuxna och dessa möten har en stor inverkan pÄ barns utveckling. Vi valde att göra denna undersökning dÄ syftet var att se vad förskollÀrare har för förhÄllningssÀtt till genus i barnböcker. Studien har genomförts genom intervjuer med tre förskollÀrare i tvÄ olika kommuner i Mellansverige. Intervjuernas resultat har varit grunden för underlag till vÄr analys och diskussion. I resultatet framgick det att förskollÀrares förhÄllningssÀtt till genus Àr viktigt för utvecklandet av barns vÀrderingar och attityder kring könsroller och att barnböcker kan vara ett sÀtt att överföra dessa vÀrderingar pÄ.
