This work is about silage contaminated with slugs (Arion lusitanicus). The hypothesis was: Do slugs affect the nutritional value and hygiene quality of silage? During the winter season 2007/2008 silages were discarded in big amounts due to the contamination of slugs. Both the Swedish Farmer Association (LRF) and the National Veterinary Institute (SVA) received phone calls from farmers and animal owners about contaminated silage. The Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) and SVA decided to initiate this project as a master thesis.

A study of communication content, frequency and problems was performed at the Swedish Air Force Air Combat Simulation Centre, FLSC. The purpose was to investigate the connection between team communication and performance variables, to study communication problems during air combat and to employ and develop the PILOT method of communication problem analysis. Ten fighter pilots and four fighter controllers engaged in simulated air combat beyond visual range in teams on two sides, Blue and Red, with four pilots and one fighter controller each. Eight such training runs lasting 15 to 25 minutes were analyzed with regard to the Blue team?s communication during launch situations, i.e.

There have been many changes in the Swedish society in general, and in the school system and hence the school library in particular during the last decade. The aim of this master thesis is then to study what students at the upper secondary school level consider to be the optimal school library to meet their specific information needs at school. In addition to and in comparison with this, the aim is also to study the present conditions of the upper secondary school library as described in documents, reports and other studies in this field.

Krav om förbättrad spillvattenrening och städer som förgrenar sig över större områden är några av anledningarna till att dagens avloppsledningsnät får allt längre ledningssträckor. Att med gravitationens hjälp föra avloppsvatten framåt kräver ett kontinuerligt fall som vid långa avstånd kan innebära mycket schaktning, den ekonomiskt mest belastande delen vid nyinstallation av avloppsledningsnät. Ett fördelaktigt alternativ kan vara trycksatt avloppssystem, som sedan 70-talet har kompletterat de traditionella självfallssystem i kuperade och bergiga områden. På senare tid har trycksatt avloppsystem fått större användningsområde utanför sina etablerade bruksområden med anledning av skärpta krav på rening och kostnadseffektivitet. Självfallssystem är dock det mest använda avloppssystemet i urbana områden.

I Sverige finns det idag ett stort antal dammar och nära hälften av Sveriges elproduktion kommer ifrån vattenkraft. Höga säkerhetskrav ställs på dammarna då konsekvenserna av ett dammbrott kan orsaka stor ekonomisk skada både i form av minskad produktion och som uppbyggnadskostnader. Dammbrott kan även utgöra risk för skador på människor och omkringliggande miljö samt byggnader.Det finns flera dimensioneringsmetoder för att uppfylla gällande säkerhetskrav på konstruktioner. De tillämpningsvägledningar som används vid stabilitetsanalys av betongdammar baseras på gamla deterministiska metoder med säkerhetsfaktorer. Det arbetas med att ta fram nya tillämpningsvägledningar baserat på sannolikhetsbaserade metoder.

Det har talats en hel del i media om fritidspedagogers rätt till legitimation samt om fritidspedagogernas yrkesroller. Denna studies syfte är att undersöka hur fritidspedagoger ser på sin egen professionalitet. Fokus riktas på fritidspedagogernas egen syn på deras centrala färdigheter och kunskaper, hur de tror att lärarnas och föräldrarnas syn är på dem, hur fritidspedagogerna själva kan planera och genomföra sin verksamhet och hur avsaknaden av legitimation påverkar deras yrkesroll. Studien har använt sig av en kvalitativ metod med semistrukturerade intervjuer. Fritidspedagogernasintervjuer analyseras med hjälp av tidigare forskning samt utvalda begrepp och teori.

The purpose of this degree project is to obtain a greater understanding of how the support for abused immigrant women is designed and if these measures respond to the women?s own wishes and needs. I also want to investigate the possible advantages and disadvantages, there are under the social ser­vi­ces and voluntary organizations (NGOs) and women themselves when it comes to spe­cific sup­port measures for immigrant women. On which basis have these support measures been designed and what experience or research starting points are based on? To what extent do they answer to women?s needs according to the staff, and to the women's own view?The study is based on qualitative data consisting of five interviews and one case report of an abused woman.

Kiruna är idag mitt uppe i den process som kallas Kiruna stadsomvandling. Till följd av den utökade gruvbrytningen måste stora delar av staden omlokaliseras och ett nytt centrumområde byggas. Som start för denna process utlystes 2012 en arkitekttävling vars resultat kommer att ligga till grund för den nya stadsstrukturen. Inför tävlingen upprättades ett tävlingsprogram som beskriver hur Kiruna kommun ser på stadens framtid och utvecklingsmöjligheter. Kiruna kommun har i samband med denna process uttryckt vikten av att arbeta utifrån ett tydligt genusperspektiv för att skapa ett mer jämställt och långsiktigt hållbart samhälle.

In this literature review the cemetery is studied in its role as a public space in an urban context. To be able to scrutinize the cemetery?s relationship to the public domain in the future, the cemetery?s background and history is studied in the beginning of the essay. The cemetery?s connection to the church, as well as a variety of other factors such as economic, architecture, hygienic aspects and different ideals has influenced the cemetery to be the place it is today.

The aim of this master thesis is to obtain a greater understanding of childrens choice of favourite books, insight in their reading experiences and their thoughts about the reading of these books. We also want to investigate if, and if so, how childrens librarians obtain knowledge of the childrens reading preferences and reading experiences and how they use this knowledge in their work to stimulate childrens reading. To reach our aim we have been carrying out quantitative interviews with six children aged nine to ten years and three childrens librarians working in public libraries. As a theoretical starting point we use the reader-oriented theory and Chambers Reading circle, which states that support from adults is the most important factor in the childs reading process. The empirical results are linked to theories and earlier research and are analysed under four different themes.

It appears that it has never been easier for the marketer to create and distribute advertising messages. The technical development has created new possible channels, which in addition to the traditional advertising media has resulted in consumers encountering loads of commercial messages every day. Unfortunately for the marketer, the overload of messages has contributed to an extensive advertising avoidance. This forces him to think outside the box in order to come up with attention-grabbing and innovative methods to reach out to consumers. This paper aims to examine if facilities for group exercise classes at fitness centres could be a potential advertising medium due to the unexpectedness of encountering advertising in those premises.

Analysmodellen kommer appliceras på P2P-processen inom IKEA AB, Finance Services.

AbstractThe aim of this essay is to explore how teachers and leisure educators can strengthen and increase students? self-confidence in different ways in their line of work. I chose this inquest for personal reasons and also because it will be of great aid for me since this is what I intend my future profession to be. For this inquest I have chosen to do five qualitative interviews and two unstructured observations. The inquest was also based on relevant literature connected to its purpose.The results show that self-confidence is linked to something the individuals accomplish and that self-esteem is the way they see themselves, an inner feeling.

The purpose of the study was to increase the understanding of, and extend the knowledge about realization of mediations and its consequences on family law divisions and family centres. Within this area, organisational, methodical, relational and social preventative aspects of mediations were illustrated. This scope was judged to be of major importance, as recent studies show that children often suffer psychologically due to parents? lack of cooperation. Mediations are considered as a way of getting parents to agree.
